Cool
I commented be4 u lol
Death doors and Metro .
None of those for me I think zena bridge of spirits is the best released this year for me, I love it. Although I know its not nintendo switch. I just wish I could vote animal crossing new horizons again even tho I its not new but its like a super brand new game now with the amazing update and the happy home paradise dlc. Pokemon Snap was another great game but I agree not a family game lol what were they thinking putting it in the family game category 😆 so 100% mario has my vote. As for metroid dredd definitely hasn't appealed to me at all but it's not for everyone. Also not knowing any of the peoples awards I just voted for the best looking 🤣🙈 or most cool looking.
No Man’s Sky is actually one of the best comebacks in gaming history. Regular updates like clockwork with significant content, and there’s a whole galactic hub that’s lively.
I used to own this. I wish they would release it on Switch. It would be great on the go game
and theres no doubt about that no matter what.
Final Fantasy XIV has even better comeback, and it always will, like legitimately theres no game that can hope to get the same comeback as that game
@@harvivekdhindsa6809 No thanks
@@harvivekdhindsa6809 Have you seen Metroid Dread? Or New Pokémon snap? Or Luigi’s Mansion 3? Heck even Animal Crossing New Horizons has a bunch of amazing minor details like how fans and wind will affect certain other items like clothes racks and how flowers when worn as a clothing item will get duller in colder weather like they’re actually starting to decay like real flowers
@@harvivekdhindsa6809 I’m just trying to pronounce your name.
I never take the game awards seriously anymore. I just tune in to see what new games will be announced and that's it
That's what everyone says but then they start taking it seriously when they don't see (insert good game realesed in this year that they enjoyed that isn't nominated )
Which is really what they want you to watch the show for anyway.
Personally I like to tune in for the orchestra
Especially after the last of us 2 won even 1 award
@@dashhhh8228 I mean, this IS exactly why no one takes it seriously - because their choices has little to do with actual best games in any nomination. And content creator always the strangest one. At this point they can nominate EA sports games and barely anyone would surprise.
Best content creator really should have Scott as a choice.
But they always have it set up for streamers and not video creators which is stupid
Should of been Scott 5 times.
Its always streamers, its so annoying. Scott easily should've been on there.
Agreeeeee
I mean, he has his own officially licensed Monopoly game. Which one of these guys can say the same thing?
No Man's Sky is one of those games that got big well after the launch because the devs took ownership of their game and even though the launch was a flop, they wanted it to be the game they promised, and now it's a ton of fun to play, ESPECIALLY in VR. They still have some work to do, but if you go play it now you can really see that they care about their community and work closely with their feedback to make the game everything it could be
Wood at the beginning: "I'm surprised It Takes Two wasn't nominated for GOTY!"
Wood at the end: *Votes for It Takes Two for GOTY*
It’s like he thought each game could only be nominated for one category or something.
Guess what
Too bad it’s getting fucked over by take two interactive
Seriously sucks that Neo The World Ends With You and Bravely Default 2 didn't get nominated for RPG of the year but freaking Cyberpunk did.
for real. i enjoyed bravely default 2, not sure if I'd nominate it simply because the year was full of amazing jrpgs that did better, but Neo not being there is a travesty.
Mh rise is my personal goty, but it’s not an rpg and it’s taking up space in that category too.
I’m a massive Bravely fan, but honestly Tales of Arise is one of the best RPGs of all time, much less this year, so I’m okay with it not being nominated.
@@oscarisbestboi8118 Oh I love Tales of Arise and have no problem with that being nominated.
@@staticshock4239 fair! The cyberpunk stuff really gets my goat too, especially because of how poor any RPG elements it attempts to have are. It was billed as an RPG, but honestly it’s just a shooter with RPG elements
Wood: "Loved Pokémon Unite actually"
Also Wood: "Pokémon Unite is PAY TO WIN and it's Disgusting."
The one that made me legitimately mad is the music category. Not nominating Persona 5S OR NEO TWEWY for any category yet putting games like death loop and cyber punk in over half the categories is baffling to me.
THANK YOU!!! The very fact that those games aren’t nominated for anything is, quite frankly, an insult
@@elliotchapman7261 Especially RPG of the year.
Facts both amazing jrpgs and music that you can play standalone
Persona 5S does have some great music but Japan has been having the game since 2020 so idk if it would qualify or not
@@kamogawagenji9840 Persona 5 was released in 2016 in Japan but released internationally in 2017 and was nominated in the 2017 game awards and won RPG of the year.
I feel so invalidated, as a No Man's Sky community member 😂
Seriously though that game has a bigger community than ever.
I got really into for about 60 hours and then dropped it. It was fun when all my friend wanted to play and we were all learning together but they fell off and eventually I did too.

Hi, another active member here
Metroid Dread winning would be interesting. It’d signal that people still love single player action/adventure games. The game is “classic hard” so I think it has a Dark Souls effect that really resonates with hardcore gamers.
are you high? comparing it to a game with beautiful atmospheric storytelling? dude you fight like 5 chozo warriors at the end... all the while running back and forth from the same 4 areas... first half had great bosses and was genuinely unique but the last half was the biggest crapshoot in metroidvania history.
@@elliottmangum3583 well metroid dread won best action game. It was well deserved.
@Chris TheArcticFox lol if there wasnt just a chozo warrior in each area it wouldnt be so bad
@Chris TheArcticFox lol to boring repetitive gameplay? nah im good
@@MegaDman16 your opinion but i respect it
I still can’t believe how good Metroid Dread was though! I just loved that game so much!!!
Would say Metroid Dread is easily the one that really deserves game of the year.
Same here
This is a SONY promoter event. It just doesn't feel right to do such a thing.
No just no, it's average to good but it's nothing special. Game awards however are total irrelevant disaster...
The novelty hasn't worn off for you yet then. lol
Give it time, then you'll realize it's an average game. I'll give it a year or two before people take back their "It's just as good as Super Metroid" comments. You guys did the same thing with BotW and Mario Odyssey. lol
@@wykydytron I defenetly agree the game awards are inaccurate and people have weird placements I played the demo from metroid dread and I really didn't see what made it better than other games
Love how he complains that the votes will count for nothing and then he goes in an votes in categories he knows nothing at all about :D
my game of the year is metroid dread hands down might be my favourite switch game of all time.
I still don’t know if BOTW can be replaced but dread is definitely neck and neck
Overrated. Best switch game still Odyssey
not saying its the best Switch game, but its my favorite this year, Shin Megami Tensei 5. I luved Metroid Dread, played through it twice and will come back to through the years much like Super Metroid and SotN. SMT5 is a fantastic RPG, sooooo addicting, so SMT5 my GOTY, Dread is my runner up.
@@cinematicpassages8884 Odyssey AKA the game with filler moon after filler moon? Lol.
Yes Metroid dread is amazing! It’s my new favorite game!
My favorite game this year is Shin Megami Tensei 5 and I have never played a SMT or Persona game before, I was blown away by how good it is. Metroid Dread would be a close runner up. Best OST, Nier Replicant (SMT5 is the runner up IMO). COntent creators, never heard of any of them?
What would you rate smt 5 out of 10 I’m thinking of getting it
@@ads5307 I would give it a 9/10 and this is from someone that plays a lot of JRPG's, but never played a SMT or Persona or any of their other spinoff games before. The turn based combat in this is done soooo well, the exploration reminds me almost of an open world game (its not an actual open world game though), music is eclectic and really good. Collecting monsters and even Miman is a lot of fun. I am addicted, such a good game.
It's egregious that SMT V was snubbed from GOTY, let alone best soundtrack.
@@ltb1345 SMTV is awesome, at least it got a nod for RPG of the year, but I agree, should have got consideration in those other categories too.
It Takes Two was hands down my favorite game of this year, and will probably be one of my favorite games ever played. It was a fantastic experience, and if you haven’t played it yet, I highly recommend that you do.
Im really torn between choosing between Metroid Dread and It takes 2
In 1 hand: I would freaking love for a SIDE SCROLLER METROID game to win and shut everyone's mouth off about it not being deserving of being a "good game" .. And also seeing a Metroid game win a GOTY award would just be awesome!
On the other hand: I would love for an indie game to win GOTY (and a couch co-op game on top of it!!) and also to show off to people that indie games are worthy of respect too (and sometimes.. More than the AAA games)
Really hard to choose :/
sorry to burst your bubble but It takes two is made by an ea studio called hazelight, but its still an amazing game
@@seansipka2852 huh... weird what is considered an indi game now. But hey I guess it doesn't invalidate it.
Anyway I want Metriod dread to win because as a newly converted Metriod fan, I really want the series to get more recognition and attention. But hey knowing the game awards Deathloop will somehow beat all the other nominations and win.
Maybe deathloop or re8, are the one taking it, trash games imo, metroid and ratchet or psychonauts the contenders, but unlikely to win.
Deathloop is going to win. The Game Awards are pulling off a The Last of Us Part 2, and giving it the win in almost every category.
@@ArceusBowser212 Sadly that sounds accurate.
Not like Death loop is a bad game but like.... does it warent the game awards adding an extra placement to shove it in next to real contenders? Nope
I just kind of wished that Eastward was nominated for something because that was one of my favorite games of the year
I voted for Elden Ring for most anticipated game for a few reasons:
1. It’s coming out in 3 months
2. We’ve seen a ton of gameplay of it
3. It’s open world Dark Souls
It really hurt to not vote for Breath of the Wild 2 but when you consider how little of gameplay we’ve seen and that we don’t have a definitive release date, you can’t really be as excited for it (in my opinion at least, if you’re more excited for Breath of the Wild 2 then good for you). Meanwhile, Elden Ring is literally about to come out and it looks amazing. But hey, if you’re more hyped for Breath of the Wild or any of the other games on the list then you can vote for it. I’m not trying to stop you. Also yes I do know Horizon Forbidden West is coming out in February but I was never really interested in it
what about silksong
Nah, GoW Ragnarok is more hype
@@insanegamer6515 true
@@alzearafat I will admit the trailer tempted me
“Grab a friend and play it”
Umm yeah I would but one problem… I have no friends.
"nowhere man" by The Beatles kicks in on the background. 😓
I love it takes two's gameplay, but the story ticked me off so many times. Only thing I learnt from its story is how horrible the two are and why their divorce was the correct choice. I could only feel pity for their child
don't take it too seriously
@@teacherfromthejungles6671 For a story tackling divorce, it should be taken seriously
@@teacherfromthejungles6671 the story is there to be seen, kinda obvious that the people would take it seriously
I agree, I would have much rather the two reached the end of the game realising that even though they're getting divorced they still need to be good parents to their kid and stop fighting so much. Forcing the relationship back together is really only going to work short-term, once their kid is grown up and self-sufficient they'll probably go back to having the same issues.
@@callumarcher8111 This is exactly how I feel about the story, thanks for bringing this up!
I'd have to go FFXIV for best ongoing. People are leaving WoW in droves to play that game. Not that WoW wasn't already going downhill but still. The once great MMO King is being dethroned and FFXIV in particular is taking the spot.
I am playing It Takes Two with my husband. We sit some evenings and play one chapter. Every time we sit, we laugh and chat about how we see Cody and May and their relationship improvement, etc. We do not have a problem with it being long, we absolutely love to get to sit together again for another round. I hope the game gets some awards and gets the recognition it deserves :)
For me Tales of Arise and Shin Megami Tensei V my 2 games of the year. Monster Hunter Rise and Stories 2 were also great. Also enjoyed Scarlet Nexus. Edit: wow the RPG category was hard for me lol
Pretty much only well done category if we forget Cyberpunk is there for some reason
Him not understanding what community support meant was hilarious 🤣
It's always funny seeing that the most replayed part of each vid is the sponsor ending part, everyone accidentally skips ahead so they go back to find out they only missed like 1 sec of the vid after the sponsor ended.
D
Imagine cyberpunk wins best rpg. I'll die laughing.
its gotten a lot better over the months big patch coming around first part of the new year
@@LittleDude3452 Its actually pretty good with the right hardware, still buggy, but good. Its hardly a RPG game though, its an open world adventure game, IMO. Not sure what is a real RPG these days? I would call SMT5, Tales of Arise, etc actual RPG's though.
it was the best though. Probably another bandwagon jumper who didn't play it or played it on ancient hardware.
It would be a bit unfair, given that japanese RPG were great this year. But it's hard to argue about Cyberpunk being the greatest western RPG this year. Not so much competition after all.
@@Eukherio not sure it will win, but SMT5 is awesome! Tales of Arise might have gotten more hype and is a multiplatform game where SMT5 is a Switch exclusive, but I really hope it doesn't get overlooked, its fantastic. Also Monster Hunter Rise is a Switch exclusive too, but also got a lot of hype. SMT5 is flying under the radar and is an awesome RPG.
NMS is an incredible game and the devs have spent 5 years making it what they originally promised and so much more. Please play it.
I'd pick metriod dread for sure, but I didn't play it takes two(even though I like co op games) because the whole romance thing would have been weird playing with my brother.
Maybe someone that played it can pipe in, but it isn't it more like you're watching someone else's story unfold? Most people playing it hopefully weren't on the verge of divorce when they started it.
@@DizzyDiddy yeah thats problem true
I played it with my brother, best friend and ex. You can literally play it with anyone it's not awkward and very worth playing, it's probably my goty
Incest is wincest.
I voted for Metroid Dread for GOTY but man I would have also voted for It Takes Two or Ratchet if Metroid didn't hit so damn hard
13:15 "Huh, just like the game. The music won't even play." I laughed wayyyy too hard at that!
It Takes Two is amazing and I’d be so happy if it wins, but Psychonauts was also great to me and I’d love to see it win as well. For once all the games on top are really good
I really don’t agree although Psychonauts 2 is really good,it takes 2 is above average,re8 is really good and Ratchet and clank is good. Death loop is he not really that good and it runs off 2 gimmicks one where someone hops in to your game and tries to kill you and another where you have to keep and keep and keep playing the same levels over and over and over again with little to no changes to get enough targets in one space where you can kill them all with the time limit and those two gimmicks We’re not good and that’s not even mentioning that it’s just a reskin of dishonored and Metroid is even worse it’s just a basic Nintendo shoot em up 2D Platformer that I think would’ve been the biggest disappointment of the year if it wasn’t for the GTA trilogy, Battlefield, halo and call of duty I really do think that Nintendo need to start having some innovation with there games they can’t just make 3-D Mario Platformer, 2D Platformer Mario party,Mario kart and legend of Zelda forever but they really don’t need to change Nintendo fan boys will buy anything that they make and say that is the most innovational stuff ever that’s the only reason why I went out and bought a switch and also bought this game to because people were making it seem like it was one of the best games in the world
@@jurziielam90 2D platformers are a legitimate format, with new games coming every year trying to innovate it. If you don't like or find anything interesting in those genres then that's completely legitimate, but people who do enjoy these kind of games find Dread innovative and fantastic in certain ways which in my opinion talks to the strength of the game. People love these genres and so will continue going playing them and exploring them, it's the same for Battlefield and COD which in my opinion are less innovative within their own genres, but all the respect to the people who love those games and want to play the new one.

Cris Tales would be an S Tier Game if the loading times weren't slow. A Tier Game because of that.
I loved it takes two, but seriously.... How could you pick that over Metroid / leave it to a coin lol... Metroid deserves it more.
My favorite game (of even the past 5 years) was INSCRYPTION
And the fact he just didn't even say it's name or anything when it was nominated but read out every other one genuinely made me upset, INSCRYPTION wipes the floor with all these other games and I'm very disappointed that it couldn't even get a shout-out
As someone who hasn't played a co-op game in years, playing it takes two with my friend really made me remember how much fun i had with the co-op genre. It was so creative in it's mini games, level design, and puzzles that, (while i think metroid might win) It takes two should definitely win game of the year.
Thanks for turning this Monday into a Fun-day, Wood! Much love and best of luck with moving to Pennsylvania with Kim! Wishing you both the best!
Why is Cyberpunk nominated for anything? If anything it should've been for the most glitches/bugs of the year that's the only category it needs to be in.
My vote for game of the year is Dread. It is by far one of my favourite metroidvania switch games in the entire world lol. Definitely going to be voting for it. Ive never played Psychonauts 2 or 1 but heard they have a really great story as well! :). 2021's game of the year is looking pretty fired up. Can't wait to see the nomineee votes!
It's not a Metroidvania game. It's a Metroid game. It created that genre.
@@quinnparker7912 ok?
The Game Awards is like any other awards show. A worthless exercise in boosting people's ego's.
I love all your content but I can't believe you doing SMT V dirty like that
Eventhough I haven't played It takes two nor Dread I can say Dread because the fans have been waiting for a real Metroid game like the originals and Nintendo gave it to them and wasn't a bad game from what I've watched it surely looks gorgeous and fun, for me Dread is GOTY
wtf? thats like saying the most popular kid is the first in his class just because he did very well too 🤔
For me, Little Nightmares 2 was the best this year. I have some issues with it, but I've enjoyed it so much, and I am so impressed with their world-building skills that I couldn't have picked anything else.
too many categories were "I don't care," "I haven't played any of these," or "I don't want any of these to win." Still voted for all the ones I cared about. Game awards is a stupid thing since they're pretty awful.
I love woods Christmas routine, it gives me like a warm fuzzy feeling, best RUclipsr around☺️☺️

My game of the year is either going to be Metroid Dread or SMT V. I’m about 30 hours into SMT so I’m going to give it a little longer before I make my decision
Metroid dread was my first metroid game and I'm hooked what a great game

My game of the year was resident evil village, maybe because I'm just a fan of the series. I also really enjoyed Returnal and Ratchet was good for how short it was.
Wood: picks it take's 2 instead of metroid dread
Nintendo community: you are accused of anti - Nintendo behaviour. The court finds you guilty and sentences you to be shot by nintendo ninjas.
It’d be funny if dread wins cause people are gonna be like “HOW 2D GAME WIN!?” I want it to win just for the reaction.
Metroid deserves a award alone for being so long since last game installment.
It can’t be worse than Favorite Video Game on Kids Choice awards….. Just Dance wins every every single year.
English is not my native language, so this is a genuine question: did Wood interpret the word direction correctly for art direction and game direction?
I always thought it was about the director like in movies. Meaning how the game or the art was conceptualized as well as actualized. Or is it the direction where the game is going?
Yeah he messed that up 😅
You're correct, he's not
Damn, when it got to Game of the Year, and was between Dread and It Takes Two, I was chanting "Metroid Dread, Metroid Dread'... It takes two. Me:"FRICK"

"Monsta Hunna" 🤣 gets me every time 🖤!
Really happy that Ratchet and Clank rif managed to get 6 nominations l, really hoping that it an at the very least win one of them.
did you liked the story? i still haven't played it so plz avoid spoilers
I had no idea what to choose so I just chose Metroid
Awards shows like The Game Awards are trying too hard to be the Oscars / BAFTA’s and be all deep and meaningful. It’s why games like The Last of Us are drooled over and games like Animal Crossing are seen as inferior… despite being the game last year which kept millions sane and in contact during lockdown.
Games as art, as apposed to games as fun. Which is a slippery slope for being used as a measuring stick for what counts as a good game.
I feel it’s why Metroid Dread doesn’t stand a chance this year compared to Deathloop, despite the former being received far better than the latter.
This is exactly why TGA is so looked down on by so many people.
Gaming as a whole is such a wide landscape of different experiences for different people. Like if you take 50 random people and ask them what games they played this year you'll get a different response from everyone.
Like as you said a lot of times they look at the big artistic games as the best. Like I love me a beefy triple A game but there's no reason it should be compared to a smaller indie title or a much simpler game such as Animal Crossing like you said.
TL;DR Game Awards are only good for trailers
Animal Crossing was incomplete and with less content than previous entries tho
Not that anyone asked, but I'd just like to say.. My girl and I (we have a kid together) were going through a rough patch.. I learned about "It takes two" and convinced her to try it with me. We played through the entire game and it genuinely helped our relationship. While playing, there were some awkward moments because the characters were basically saying things we wanted to say to each other.. We have since talked about this and laughed but we both really love it and appreciate it.
I know we're all having fun laughing at the CP2077 nominations, but it's nomination for Best Score and Music is well-deserved. The OST is amazing.
Honestly the story and direction is better then any Ubisoft game. Like compare cyberpunk to far cry and it's a joke. It's just cyberpunk wasn't what it was hyped to be
@@themangastand8475 I agree, I didn't want to say I enjoyed the game because I wasn't in the mood to deal with the hater bandwagon. I thought the story and characters were excellent, but as you said, everything else just wasn't what it was hyped to be.
"Dread is the best 2D side scrolling"
Bob is coming for you...
metroid was dead for a long while and now that it came back it needs all the support possible but... it takes two is good (like really really good my sister always gets angry at me because I'm not doing what she wants and she's not doing what I want, it's hilarious 🤣) so I respect your opinion😆.
I just want a metroid game of the year edition xD
My favorite game of the Year is Tales of Arise but anime games will never make it into the nominees of Goty, although I am baffled that Kena wasn't a nominee, is easily a better game than deathloop. If I have to choose... maybe Metroid Dread?
Also no Eastward, Pathfinder, Ender lilies or Record of lodoss? I guess indie games can only be awarded best indie game. Every time I see the nominees of the Game Awards I get the feeling of "I don't understand the game industry"
welp, I guess that the announcements are going to be cool, I am hoping for Persona 5 for PC and Switch and maybe some info on silksong...maybe. Also see what new stuff Microsoft has been cooking would be nice.
“Where is Halo? I’ve been playing Halo” 😂
I can’t believe Eastward didn’t get anything at all. Such a great game. The visuals the music. The story all of it was great. They were definitely over looked. I hope Metroid takes game of the year.

I watch RUclips on my switch and tv. You can't leave comments or click notifications. That's probably why everything's fickt
Psychonauts 2 is so clever and deep in its writing, and gorgeous in its art direction, it has to take it for me followed by it takes two and Ratchet and clank. Samus controlled really well but those bots that kill the pacing and exploration every 10-20 mins bring it down some for me.
I really don’t understand where the “Game Awards are sellouts” notion comes from. Because it’s not the organizers that vote for games in categories, it’s mostly media outlets. They are only sellouts during the actual showtime (ads, sponsors, etc). And if you try to tell me that media outlets are sellouts that argument has been disproved time and time again
Thank you! And they need ads and sponsors to actually put on a show because otherwise there would be no funds to do it
well enjoy your 10 cents ig
everyone not born yesterday can see through that
I played It Takes Two with my best friend, his girlfriend and my ex. The entire game on 3 separate occasions. Only complaint is that it could have been a bit shorter but not a bad thing. Incredible experience and changing mechanics. Game of the year!
Okay I love that your Limited Satisfye grip commercial played before this. 🤣

You're hair has been looking very healthy lately. I think Kim's cut last year really helped the start of the process lol
I'd highly recommend checking out a couple of the games in that "games for impact" category! I played both Before Your Eyes and Chicory: A Colorful Tale this year and they both immediately jumped onto my "favorite games ever" list I have, they're both absolutely beautiful and charming games
I've pretty much picked everything you picked except game of the year lol. I gave it to Metroid simply because It Takes Two needs 2 players to play (duh)
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart was one of the best games I played this year. I hope it wins.
I like the Game Awards because we finally have a mainstream awards show to celebrate gaming like the Oscars or the Emmys
These awards made me realize what a crap year it's been for games.
Man, I just don't see that. Start with Hitman 3 finishing out the trilogy that rebooted the series masterfully. Only care about JRPGs? At the same time we get Ryza 2, Disgaea 6, Monster Hunter Rise and Ys IX. And Bravely Default II, if you care about that, which I guess some people do. It Takes Two, which everyone seems to love. Loop Hero, which everyone should love. Inscryption, which isn't on nearly enough lists. Pokemon Snap. RE 8. Ratchet and Clank. Scarlet Nexus. Monster Hunter Stories 2. TWEWY 2. Psychonauts 2. Life is Strange 3. Rider's Republic. Forza Horizon 5. Deathloop. Guardians of the Galaxy. Judgement 2. Outer Wilds DLC. Metroid Dread. Death's Door. SMT 5. No matter what you like there's been plenty of it released this year. Which doesn't even account for games that came out last year that were finally released on Switch (Cold Steel IV, Disco Elysium) or other formats this year.
@@alanscott2517 Don't waste your energy. People who say it's been a crap year probably only play one console and only play things like CoD or some crap. It's been a GREAT year for gaming and next year is shaping up to be even better.
@@alanscott2517 Never played loop hero but it does seem good. Tales of arise was incredible, waiting for Monster hunter rise on PC, I should get metroid dread since I love metroid games. Cold Steel games are awesome and love those.
Avoiding bravely default 2 cause I didn't like the first two games for it.
The thought of playing pshyconaughts or life is strange makes me want to vomit and choke on it.
Anyways, I'm not saying there were No good games this year. There are some good games every year. There just wasn't anything for me that was just damn incredible. No xenoblade games, breath of the wild... nothing that made me want to sink in 200+ hours.
Oh yeah Scarlet Nexus was also very good.
Most of the games I'm playing now are from 2020 or before. Hey, Days gone on PC released this year, guess we can call that a 2021 release then and it's great =P
I thought it was weird there were no Vtubers up for content creator. Idk maybe they didn't want to have a spot dedicated to the shark girl and scare the normies away.
It doesn't feel like there were a ton of stand out games this year. There were some fantastic ones, but nothing really awe inspiring. Scarlet Nexus and Tales of Arise were gorgeous, Forza Horizon 5, Resident Evil 8, Hitman 3, and Psychonauts 2 were all really fun, Death's Door and Narita Boy were some great indies... but it still feels like a fairly mediocre year.
It takes two needs to win. That game was amazing
FACTS.
Monster Hunter Rise not winning a single award feels like highway robbery
I started dying when dream was nominated for content creator
RUclips is creepy. Literally right as Wood pulled out his Oculus Quest 2, an Oculus Quest 2 ad played.
I honestly loved cyberpunk 2077, and while it doesn’t deserve game of the year, it certainly deserves an honorable mention.
Not gonna lie. When I first heard about “Loop Hero” I thought it was a guitar hero type game where you have to loop stuff. 😂😂😂😂😂
Imagine having the guts to nominate one of the worst game in decades as the best RPG
One of the dumbest comments i've ever seen on RUclips. Worst game in decades? You probably just watched a few videos of some glitches and came to this conclusion, right?
@@RayzaNC The game is currently on sale on Steam and got more than 20.000 new positive reviews. It's always surprising how social media can make people believe something is terrible without even trying it.
I had to look up a lot of these games in order to vote. Sable, The Vale, Returnal & Death's Door look like amazing games.
Accessibility -> The Vale (no doubt)
Games for impact -> Chicory (again no brainer imo)
Best new Indi -> Sable
Best indi -> Kena
Best multiplayer -> It Takes Two
Action adventure -> Metroid Dread
Best strat/sim -> Evil Genius 2
Family game -> Nintendo
Audio Design -> Returnal
Best score and music -> Forza Horizon (as well as best sports)
Best Art -> Psychonauts or Kena. Can't remember
Best narrative -> Psychonauts
Best game direction -> Ratchet and Clank.
GOTY -> Metroid Dread. But It Takes Two is a strong contender. For me, it was between those two games as well. However Metroid is a solo game and has more replay value.
D
SMT5 is the best rpg on that list. Followed by Tales of Arise, and then Monster Hunter.
