Yes, I was tremendously impressed by the middle class appearance of Sumita Sanyal the heroine or the beautiful actress in the movie Anand. When Anand was released then I went to watch the movie with my elder sister. Then I was only 9/10 years old. Anandd came in the cinema hall Basu Sree of kolkata. Basu sree was then one of top cultural Cinema hall of Kolkata. But when I again saw the movie in 1981 in the same hall then I was really impressed by the looks of Sumita Sanyal. She is senior like my elder sister. I never revealed to any one but the name Sumita magically enchanted me from 1981 and I waited to meet some beautiful girl like Sumita Sanyal and God really made to meet a young girl whose name is Sumita Roy in 1992 surprisingly she looks like Sumita Sanyal. This Sumita married me 1994. Luck favoured me in this matter. My wife really hold the copycat style of actress Sumita Sanyal. My wife Sumita is 57 years I'm 59 old now.

No! No other human being can come close to this goddess. All those who think Suman and Hemlata and Anuradha are equal or better are just lying. It was very easy for music directors to pay lower rates for anyone equal to or better than Lata. But they didn’t. Why? They knew Lata’s single take song would not only save them a ton of money and effort but they would also have created magic. Only Lata.

I understand little bit of Bengali, having lived there for 3 years. The lyrics of Hindi version are much more appropriate to the situation as compared to Bengali version. So I like the Hindi version more for lyrics, though Bengali version sounds sweeter.

These women sang some songs too but never did any of their songs reach that level where the song goes straight to your soul, as if it’s coming directly from the Gods.
