Gotta be totally clear here... I really do not hold this against the entirety of the Nigerian people. There's a good chunk of them who are some of the world's kindest people. It just seems that the majority of Nigerians who are "in your face" are giving the rest of the population a bad reputation. Don't think of my experience as "the standard". If you want to visit Nigeria, I encourage you to do so... of course with a few warnings given in this video and the upcoming 2 videos as well. Daalụ enyi!

Dude, I've been watching your videos for almost a year and I love your content as well as watching you improve upon your talent and enjoying your passion. I came to this video expecting a response from Air Peace, but not counting on it from yours and Josh's experience. I can't wait for the additional videos from this saga, keep doing what you're doing!
Honestly, patience of a saint! Kudos for going through it for the rest of us; going through problems so we could learn from your, i don't want to say mistake cause you made none, i'd say horrible experience.
Greetings from the UK! You must have patience & resilience combined in abundance! Not many people would go through such a stressful/costly process. Love your videos. Cheers
What an absolute clusterfuck!!! Your diligence, patience, and persistence are commendable! And, if you’re in the same boat with Josh Cahill, at least you’re in good company!
This is your best video yet - bravo. The stories behind travel to places like Nigeria on airlines like Air Peace are, to me, much more interesting than a critique of the service on an American or European or Asian carrier, where there isn't much more to be said. Please take the following as a compliment - this video was very Josh Cahill-like, whose travels to remote parts of the world on obscure airlines are some of my favorites.
Hey Patrick, just discovered your channel. I love the context and background you have given to your Air Peace trip. Especially your info on the slots at LHR and LGW in the other video. Really interesting to have this insight and it adds so much value to your content. I hope your channel grows as you definitely deserve more subs. Looking forward to catching up on your existing videos and ones to come in the future. Take it easy now - this trip really must have tested your patience.
Customer service and purchase fulfillment is the most direly (is that even a word?) inept. As an African, that concept is broken and reactionarily (is that even a word?) rude. Your travels bring me joy...thanks for your enduring patience and sharing with us ❤
I will never travel Air Peace, signed a well travelled Nigerian No amount of patriotic guilt will make me do it You want to give them a chance and they screw up the basics and make an event out of the most basic activity like paying for a ticket or boarding a flight
Hi Patrick, Its a bit shocking to hear this type of review. As a Nigerian citizen, i have taken it upon myself to reach of to our Ministry of Foreign Affairs and i am sure they will investigate and correct any misgivings.
Your visa experience sounds very familiar. I started trying to get a Nigerian visa, four months before my trip date. Like you, called multiple Nigerian consulate and agencies over weeks and emailed as well, to no avail. It was the most frustrating process that after three months, I started calling my airline to change my flight ticket to a different country and not bother visiting Nigeria. Getting visas to Nigeria is expensive, time consuming and a major headache. Not sure I will put myself through that again.
it is called reciprocity , to get a visa to europe, US or UK from Nigeria is hectic, so many Nigerians have lost money due to the serial denials by these country embassies. Nigeiran visa would not be an easy pass for anyone.
The issue isn't really about whether you get the visa or not. Listen, if a country government decides they don't want you visiting their country, for whatever reason, that is their right, no issue there. With Nigerian visas, you don't even get to the stage of denial or acceptance. It is lot of run away, no one answers their phones or respond to email. There is no Nigerian consulate anywhere close to me. For me to apply for a Nigerian visa, have to fly myself and my family to another state to apply - air tickets, hotel, car rental, food etc. Ok, that is fine. But with Nigeria, you cant get an appointment to confirm when you can come. You can't get details of what you need to bring with you. The website is always down, so no info there. There is no one to talk to about any of this. I realize there is no guarantee you are given a visa, but other countries, there is at least a reliable process to follow. I just applied for visas to Kenya and India. Both were easy, straightforward and took a few days. With Nigeria, four months later, still cant even get to the application stage
I was hoping Air Peace would make the difference for Nigerians…😢 that’s actually really sad! As for Visas.. the wait time for Nigerians to get Visa appointments to the US takes as much as 2 years! A friend waited 2 yrs.. got denied .. reapplied again, waited another two years to finally go in last year but was denied again. That’s 4 yrs.. lots of money and no visas! Another friend paid $600 to expedite a UK Visa and another $200 to have it mailed express.. I am not excusing our behavior .. but we as Nigerians 🇳🇬 don’t get it easy anywhere in the world either! A RUclipsr Tayo Aina had to buy a passport from st Kitts because of the hell he was was experiencing with a Nigerian passport!
I'm a Lagos resident since almost a decade having grown to young adulthood in Ibadan and honestly confirm the harsh salty interaction with most Lagosians. There's an inherent anger, rush, discontent and sense of unhealthy competition amongst people encountered on daily commute, service desks and other spheres within communities. It might have to do with mental stress due to dissatisfaction with income levels and living costs, but more definitely with general orientation societal disconnect and a lack of communality. However thanks for the expository. I simply find it informative and unbiased.
So sorry for the experience, Patrick. Air Peace really isn't peaceful. Even travelling local flights with them is chaotic; they have the WORST customer service. Avoid, if possible!

That’s all super fair. Visa processes are tough for just about anyone. It sucks when some countries have it worse than others. I’m hoping air peace will be able to turn themselves into a true African flag carrier. They have the right pieces, so the right leadership should be able to make it huge. The Nigerian people definitely deserve a big national carrier to be proud of!

The difference, you guys want to run away from Nigeria to the west or Europe. People from West or Europe, don't want to runaway to Nigeria 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😢😢😢😢😢
Air Peace is wild 😂😂😂 Hate to generalise, but I don’t think Nigeria is a real country. Every time I go there there’s drama. Most of it petty. Most of it seemingly designed to extract as much money as possible from my pocket as possible. Doesn’t seem to be a difference whether you pay (just seems to trigger more requests for money) or you don’t (and inconvenience is maximised). Got noticeably worse this year. This year I was asked for an “exit visa” which entirely made up. There are some nice people, but I feel like they are outnumbered by the hustlers. Just exhausting how much effort people there put into trying to finesse you, and to a;ways have your head on a swivel, trusting no one. Nigeria and DRC definitely amongst the two trickiest countries in Africa to visit. Love your content. Becoming my favourite travel channel. Real without being dramatic.
@@digitaledu6624 you didn’t even read my post, did you? “There are some”…”I feel like”. I’ve visited Nigeria four times a year for six years now. I’ve been to more than 70 countries, many in Africa. Nigeria and DRC are the the trickiest I’ve been to, and I stand by that. I should have added that the most defensive people I’ve encountered on my travels? Indians, Zimbabweans and Nigerians. Never acknowledge problems, pretend everything is great and that it is a few bad apples. Cannot take even the slightest criticism.
Clearly not enough folding money incorporated in the paperwork. I lived and worked in Lagos in 1978-79 and the only way to get into the country/out of the country, get through Customs and Immigration in minutes rather than hours was to have banknotes sticking out of my Passport as I walked to the front of the line - passing everyone else - where the money was lifted and I never stopped walking. It seems that nothing has changed and he simply offer any, or enough "Dash".
Go and ask Nigerians what they go through getting your country visa we don't go online to complain, you are paid to discredit Air peace,we are not surprised.
Never heard anything good about air peace. I applaud you for being very patient and willing to through all that just to visit. I would have given up a long time ago. In all honesty I would not send or leave my passport with African consulate and am african.😅😅😅
Welcome to Nigeria, Nigeria doesn't hate you, this is how every Nigerian citizen is treated and stressed by same fellow Nigerians slightly or obviously above them in status... I actually love my country but hate most of the people representing us
Sorry that you went through that Patrick….I’m Nigerian (born and raised but living in the States) and the country is a disappointment and I just wish the country’s aviation system gets better but I doubt it and there is a lot of corruption in the country and it’s a sad sight to see the state of the country as a Nigerian.
It's unfortunate. Especially for a country with so much resources... It will be good to see if they can find the right management to make a solid aviation market
My coworker Ezekiel from Nigeria invited all of us to Nigeria for his wedding. Guess what nobody hadca chance to go why ? Cause someone from your embassy asked us directly for some money on siiiiide !!! To accelerate the process . Really !!! No disrespect but you guys are fucked !
I believe you are actually ensuring everything goes wrong so you can have a story for your RUclips channel. You called all the embassies, consulates, etc and everyone did not attend to you. What makes you that special that everyone will ensure you have a bad experience? You place a single call and when you don't get a response you cut the line. Are you the only one coming to Nigeria from your country? Did Airpeace not fly for several months? How would they just move your flight by 3 months when they fly almost everyday? You have told us this story the way you want us to hear it and I am not buying this bullshit. Mister I don't know if you from the UK or the US. If you know how much Nigerians are delayed when getting Visa to your country you will send us a thank you gift. We spend over six months sometimes to get an interview date for visa after paying hefty Visa fees and you are here bashing us. Nigeria is an amazing country. Every country have their challenges including yours. You don't come here and paint the whole country with one brush just because you want RUclips views. Nigerians have been mugged in the US and UK and we don't come here doing a video about it. Word of advice. If you have a problem in Nigeria, speak up. Yes we have bad eggs, but there are bad eggs everywhere.
Mate, if you needed a Nigerian visa should have messaged me. Can get you one (VOA Business Visa but used for tourism) in 24 hours but it's pricey at 400$ (still cheaper than the whole run around you got). Nigeria is an easy country to navigate with 💵.
As a Nigerian, I will never fly Airpeace. Their domestic flight is atrocious!! I tried booked international flight for my trip in January and couldn’t with my international card- I didn’t know this prior. I ended up booking Virgin Atlantic.

Nigeria is an adventure…😖. That said I can not comment on Air Peace as my last visit (work-related) was in ‘02’ flying BA. Despite all of the rhetorical propaganda, that the government is cracking down on corruption, Nigeria is still….Nigeria, at least according to former co-workers who still travel there and reports like this. It is definitely not a place for the uninitiated or timid. So sad, there is so much wealth potential with all of the natural resources. Oh well…maybe one day.
sometimes i wonder why the most resource rich continent in the world is still such a dumpster fire. then i hear a story like this and i’m reminded exactly why 😂
You are playing a devils advocate! Yes, your country do the worst to Nigerians citizens trying to get a visas. Air Peace staffers have to go through regular training.,their poor treatment towards customers has to be stopped.
u no kn waiting Nigerians dey go through abroad or foreign embassies . but Nigerians are strong and used to all this problems ,so we don't complain . if we do, u will hate Ur country. luv u
You’re honest with your comments during this video, and not mincing words, which is appreciated, but I’m wondering if you actually played all this TOO “kind and patient and understanding” with the staff during your time over there- what I’m wondering if is you’d have stood up for yourself and gotten a little louder with them, so to speak- pushed back at them a little more forcefully- would that have actually helped things go your way? Not sure, but it was kind of annoying how calm you sound throughout this whole video, in a way. Lol. I thought it might have taken a stronger TONE in front of these desks, but in a foreign country that is probably not the wisest thing to do! Obviously, a little “tip” here and there for every interaction is probably a GOOD idea.
To be fair, I've only had it happen once before with Bolivia, but in the video I also mentioned that rather than hold my passport captive for months, they just sent it back with a letter and told me to present it to the "visa on arrival" office when I landed in the country, and the whole thing took about 48 hours. So it's rare to see it happen, but there are far better ways to deal with it then the nightmares of Nigeria's embassies
Why do westerners complain about bureaucratic bottlenecks when they want to assess Nigerian services or visit Nigeria...As a Nigerian, we are only returning the favour you do to us. Stop complaining if you haven't been a Nigerian and trying to use other embassies. I think you are not fair
@@PatrickSheaAviation For you maybe...if I had to put up with that sort of T.I.A. ,🐎💩, even if I reviewed flights for a living, there would be a trail of wounded Nigerians left behind. If I ever have to go to Nigeria I'm flying British Airways.
Good for you ironically. They don't hate you, from every video I have seen, they hate everyone. I went to Nigeria once to transfer onwards. That was 7 years ago. Nobody was friendly or helpful but everyone asked for money. My transfer took about an extra hour and barely made my flight. Never fly through Nigeria... ever.
Fortunately the transfers should be easier with the new facilities. It just doesn't look like many airlines use the new facilities. But hopefully that's something good for the future

I dont understand about airpeace airline but nigerian embassy makes visa so strict as reciprocal to USA strict visa against Nigerians.
If that IS the case, it sucks since there's plenty of cases of governments screwing over the rest of the citizens because of their own issues
It’s stressful to get other countries visa from Nigeria so we reciprocate the same energy bro!
Gbam!!..No mind them hypocrites!
Leave this people
The difference, you guys want to run away from Nigeria to the west or Europe. People from West or Europe, don't want to runaway to Nigeria 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😢😢😢😢😢
Bro... 😂😂😂😂😂
@@heavensent197millions of europeans are living in Nigeria rest
Air Peace is wild 😂😂😂
Hate to generalise, but I don’t think Nigeria is a real country.
Are u fr rn
Bro processes to generalize like he met every Nigerian on earth.
You are depressed cure yourself before amadioha cure your craze
Liar 😂
Clearly not enough folding money incorporated in the paperwork. I lived and worked in Lagos in 1978-79 and the only way to get into the country/out of the country, get through Customs and Immigration in minutes rather than hours was to have banknotes sticking out of my Passport as I walked to the front of the line - passing everyone else - where the money was lifted and I never stopped walking. It seems that nothing has changed and he simply offer any, or enough "Dash".
This story is absolutely wild.
Go and ask Nigerians what they go through getting your country visa we don't go online to complain, you are paid to discredit Air peace,we are not surprised.
@babaloladania Do you have the prove that he was paid to complain
The same we face getting passport in the uk..British Airways too canceled their flight..
Never heard anything good about air peace. I applaud you for being very patient and willing to through all that just to visit. I would have given up a long time ago. In all honesty I would not send or leave my passport with African consulate and am african.😅😅😅
Ha yea... although it was either leave my passport with them, or not fly Air Peace. And the chaos was too good to pass up
My fiancee is Nigerian. This level of disorganization is typically Nigerian, and why she wants to japa.
nice to see BVE still flying. I was engineering support for the AOG team in tel aviv in 2020.
BVE was the same one I almost flew a couple times. Seeing it brings back memories of these failed attempts to fly Air Peace at this time lol...
@ it really is unfortunate and sad…hopefully one day we find the right leaders to lead us to prosperity…
Mumu
You got more than what you bargained for, tough...on an airline that honestly no one in their right mind cars for nor would choose to fly on.
Yes we have bad eggs, but there are bad eggs everywhere.
lol
He's actually talking to his fellow fools.
We're smarter than what he thought.
He wanted to grow his RUclips channel
Defenders of the universe....
As Josh Cahill put it - "Air Peace? More like Air Drama!"
Everything is a drama with Josh Cahill.
Mate, if you needed a Nigerian visa should have messaged me. Can get you one (VOA Business Visa but used for tourism) in 24 hours but it's pricey at 400$ (still cheaper than the whole run around you got). Nigeria is an easy country to navigate with 💵.
Ha fair play man
As a general rule, the more corrupt the government and companies within a country, the more outwardly kind the people will be.
As a Nigerian, I will never fly Airpeace. Their domestic flight is atrocious!! I tried booked international flight for my trip in January and couldn’t with my international card- I didn’t know this prior. I ended up booking Virgin Atlantic.
Oga try but one before you make silly comments same airpeace that people are making good remarks about , you guys just like making silly comment cos of someone experiences
@@oscianoroyalty2470 I don’t know who you are or care to. Please work on you attitude because it reeks. Your comment is uncalled for and very rude!
I literally wrote about MY experiences with Airpeace so go write yours somewhere else if it was positive. Nonsense.
I don’t know who you are or care to. Work on your attitude because it reeks! Your comment was uncalled for.. so rude for no reason.
I literally shared MY experience with Airpeace which has been mostly negative like the RUclipsr. Share yours somewhere else if it was so positive. Nonsense!
@@oscianoroyalty2470I don't blame him trying to discourage people probably that's the agenda but I blame Allen Onyema, being Patriotic Nigeria employed more of a tribe that knows nothing about Business at the decision making position and leaving out his Business minded Brothers at the least decision position. He shouldn't worry until his business crashed to nothing before he'll use his senses right
I don't feel sorry for anybody at all do u know how stressful it's for us getting visa to Europe and U.S Nigeria should make it harder for outsiders to acquire our passport/visa
i get you angry with the airline but dont you dare complain about the visa process pls, your country makes Nigerians go through hell literally to get a visa too.
I an a Nigerian, I don't hate you but agree with you 👍
Got anxiety just watching this! Is there another country so synonyms with 1 thing as Nigeria is with scams and all-round dodgy business practice!
I don't know why airpeace is like this and im a nigerian btw that person that told you not to come to Nigeria ncs your tryong to tell him something should me fired i hope allen onyema sees this
Nigeria is an adventure…😖.
Question: Why didn't you just book a new ticket?
Eventually I did. But originally I was trying not to since I spent a good amount of money on the original ticket and shouldn't have had to spend more
We Nigerian love it, so I don't understand why this video, not only air peace, why not us order
sometimes i wonder why the most resource rich continent in the world is still such a dumpster fire. then i hear a story like this and i’m reminded exactly why 😂
It's a fine line. Harsh enough to not get pushed around, but not so much that they just say screw it and stop helping you... I've seen them both
I think the last time Josh flew with Air Peace he gave them a passing grade. Not wonderful, but just passing.
Patrick Shea video on a Tuesday morning? LFG
6:50 seems, u can pay the fees for air peacec at this office in the US?
Unless I'm missing something, I don't believe Air Peace has any offices in the US
@@PatrickSheaAviation oh i thought, this view at 6:50 was inside the visa agency in the US
Wow that sounds awful. i won't be going to Nigeria any time soon. "Run out of VISA's" ??? I would have lost my temper and yelled
It's the same experience for many people to many places
@ no it’s not. This never happens in most places
Great content , Lmao, i am sure some Nigerians have experienced the same nightmare
That's the country you should not visit now. Like davido said, the economy is really going down
They’re couple of bad airlines all over the world but what more can y’all do for clicks?
Bad airline, Nigeria! lol
Did you expect anything different?
😢😮😮 Hmmmmm all I can say is that I am so sorry
10:37 you're really savage bro.
I wouldn't want you disrespect my country like that 😂😂🤦🏾
Ungodly what???😂😂
I wonder if they will ever improve.
Customer Service doesnt exist in Nigeria
It's hit or miss. When you find a good representative, they're some of the best in the world honestly
Hey Patrick, really sorry about your experience. I sent you an email that you might want to have a quick look at soon.
I never flown airpeace, I never will
Am surprised Air peace has a slow in London with how they carry themselves.
I'm mostly surprised they got it with their history... but now they're working on US slots. But that's something for part 2 of the saga
Why do westerners complain about bureaucratic bottlenecks when they want to assess Nigerian services or visit Nigeria...As a Nigerian, we are only returning the favour you do to us. Stop complaining if you haven't been a Nigerian and trying to use other embassies. I think you are not fair
Am so sorry
This guy has been shown shege promax, the Nigerian way 😀😀
Like Nigerians don't receive double of what he got in other countries.
Seems like nearly everyone who flies Air Peace has had some sort of problem.
But isn't that just a ton of fun???
@@PatrickSheaAviation For you maybe...if I had to put up with that sort of T.I.A. ,🐎💩, even if I reviewed flights for a living, there would be a trail of wounded Nigerians left behind. If I ever have to go to Nigeria I'm flying British Airways.
Colonial review,not surprised
Air peace toying with your peace of mind 😂
Good for you ironically. They don't hate you, from every video I have seen, they hate everyone. I went to Nigeria once to transfer onwards. That was 7 years ago. Nobody was friendly or helpful but everyone asked for money. My transfer took about an extra hour and barely made my flight. Never fly through Nigeria... ever.
Fortunately the transfers should be easier with the new facilities. It just doesn't look like many airlines use the new facilities. But hopefully that's something good for the future
Colonial stories ,nobody send your papa
