Hey my dudes, I have since come up with an even sillier but even better solution to this problem. Like this comment if y'all want me to make a video on it 👌
Btw if your mousepad is rubbery on the bottom but still slides, then you can wipe down your desk to clean it, then lightly wet the underside of your mousepad. Put it into position and let it sit on your desk for a couple seconds and it won't slide anymore, even after months of use cause the water somewhat glues it down until you pick it back up again. Easier if you don't want to use tape or if tape didn't work.
Yes, another vid! It's funny how Artisan focuses so much on the texture, feel, and glide of their pads that when it came to the underside of their pads, they were out of time and resources, and good ideas too. LOL
Don't get me wrong, the underside of their pads is actually really good, on a smooth surface (like glass etc) It actually adheres as if like magic. It just doesn't work well on the type of desk surface that I have.
ah cool, didn't know they were suited for smooth surfaces specifically. I'd like to think my comment was a little bit funny still though, maybe not lol
Important thing here be EXTREMELY carefull pulling the mousepad up cause it can very easily crease the pad or even rip the rubber off the bottom a bit (yeah i was dumb and this happened lmfao)
Nice!!! I glazed my desk with epoxy under the mousepad to make it smooth, so that the Artisan pads now stick like glue! (Artisan pads stick extremely well to smooth surfaces). The tape trick did me well for a good year though (but a bit of a nightmare to clean up haha).
It's hard to say whether it is as fast as when I got it, But it is still usable and still extremely fast. My brother is currently using it as I'm reviewing other pads :)
I cleaned with a damp cloth with it still fixed to the desk. I treated it as a permanent mod as the tape I used was very strong! But weaker tape could be used so that it's removable.
That was actually a Divina that I modded to have a matte finish, hyperglides + a ceesa paracord! It was fantastic, I miss it. Unfortunately for you, I already gave it away in a giveaway :(
@@KorokuGaming i just realized im 1 year late ;-; ... Np i'll stay tuned for next one XD ... those divina model are really expensive in my country idk why ... because of custom duties i guess
@@usiwjdkdodo Zowie mice are always expensive, hopefully they start to update their mouse lineup, it's pretty stale compared to the rest of the industry atm but their shapes are excellent!
@@kronos7678 Usually in the evening (GMT) on weekdays but on weekends I stream for longer. I'm about to start streaming today and will probably go until bedtime with only short breaks.
i would put much less tape or even better put a special glue called tack over & over on it in (dont bring the mousepad in contact with anything yet) let it cure overnight and then you will have a "reposition-able" mouse pad that won't tear when you try to peel it.
Was this the regular Hayate or the Hayate otsu or kou? also how has it been holding up? I'm really looking to get one of their Hayates I just don't know which to go for of the 3. How would you say it compares to a standard cloth pad (qck/goliathus etc) Thanks!
Regular Hayate. It's been holding up well, I just wipe it over with a microfiber cloth before playing to get rid of dust, and occasionally I will wipe it with a wet microfiber cloth followed with a dry one for a deeper clean, seems very easy to maintain. I would recommend that you heed the advice of many and first try the Hayate Otsu. I'm enjoying the Hayate but have a feeling that I'd have prefered the Otsu. It is similar to a standard cloth pad but I've never seen a cloth texture like it, it is a unique texture. Fairly rough and the glide feels pretty fast, not too rough against the skin. Tracking is excellent on the pad with all the mice I have tried so far. It also lays down flat straight out of the box, which can't be said for the Goliathus or the Qck.
@@KorokuGaming Thanks for all the info! It's a bit difficult to find in depth information about these pads, at least for the newer fx series, so I really appreciate it. Why is it that most people recommend the Otsu? I've noticed that as well just anecdotally that whenever I see someone talking about the Hayate it's usually always the Otsu. Thanks again. I feel more sure about purchasing a Hayate now rather than a Zero or Hien.
@@RequiemOfSolo The Otsu is more hard wearing and has more even x and y friction than the Hayate, it is also slightly more control but the Hayate is speedy enough that maybe a little more control might benefit my aim :) The Otsu is meant to be their 'revised and improved' Hayate.
@@KorokuGaming Ah ok thank you. I'm looking to get a really fast cloth pad but I don't want the Shidenkai because it wears out in ~6-7 months, and I don't want the raiden because it supposedly has tracking issues sometimes. The Hayate being faster than the Otsu sounds appealing, however I would rather avoid x/y difference and as long as the otsu is faster and more consistent than a qck/goliathus I would be happy. Anything to get away from how muddy and slow those pads get
Yes, it can, depending on the backing of the pad it can damage it (tape fuses a little and can't really be removed without ripping up the mousepad backing). Think of it as a permanent fixing.
Yes, as long as it's thin double sided tape. I think the tape I used was actually a bit too strong, weaker tape might cause less damage to the table and mousepad :)
I checked them out & tbh they don't have the features yet I'd want from smart glasses. Getting closer though! I'll be doing stuff one handed while filming until then lol.
