It seemed to me that this part is lacking a bit, even though it's the most important when reviewing headphones, isn't it? You could include binaural sound tests (those were great) like you already did or something like this. Even going deeper into this topic would be nice. This for me would make your reviews and comparisons perfect :) Just a note that i wanted to make overall, sending much love ^^

what the hell, i thought for a long time that the marshall major IV mic was total shit because they are on my pair, i sound like a distorted robot when taking calls on them. they have been like this since i purchased them.
Does anyone know if they've improved the audio when using the microphone via Bluetooth? With the Major 3 you had to select the lower quality sound device option in windows to use the mic and headset at the same time, which I am guessing is a different codex to get the mic working via Bluetooth?
May I ask how do you test the quality of the microphone using an android phone. I could not find any app that would record from the headphones microphone for me to test it.

Completely incorrect information about Bluetooth codecs. There is very little perceptible difference between SBC and AptX. On the other hand, AAC is better than either of them. I would suggest that everyone wait for the new LC3 codec that comes with Bluetooth 5.2 in the next 6 months.
Maybe those fake once are from Marshall as well just the illigitimate ones or that didn't passed the quality control. To break for the loss sell them as surplus. Maybe thats the reason no effort whatsoever from marshall to counter those.

I tested both Mid and Mid ANC at the same time, bought them at almost the same price, so price wasn't a reason to decline balance. So I could test them side by side and ended up returning the ANC version. Reasons: ANC feature wasn't anything special and I was not going to use it. When turning ANC ON, the sound quality decreased, and when turned OFF the sound quality was very close but still a bit inferior to non ANC Mid version. The carrying case on the Mid ANC was nice to have, but the most important thing on a headphone is sound, and being that they both are almost the same in construction, sound wins here. So I kept the Mid without ANC. I would like to know if anyone has tested both Mid and Major IV side by side.
if you listen using headphones , Sony is clearer by far . BTW i used Marshall major 4 itself to listen to the audio. It definitely is value for Money !
Why is no one talking about hissing sound of these headphones? I bought them brand new and the background noise is pretty unbearable. Also, every time you skip to a new sond with a nob, it makes a very loud "notification" sound that keeps itself at a high volume even though your volume is set down to a minimum - just imagine falling asleep in a train and suddenly you have to listen to a loud noise of a "skipping song sound".
call quality - maybe. but headphones are mainly about music. and Marshall major IV have one big problem - very intensive highs and NO mids.... and thats the problem, sound is absolutely not real. I think it is not useful.... sorry Marshall
Marshall headphones are by design flawed. The exposed wires flex too much and cause wire failors. I have had three marshall headphones with one side of the speakers broken. It pisses me off, these are the best sounding headphones to my ears, the m3s sounded shit in comparison, within one year of blissful listening they keep breaking. Dammit.
I've personally already given up on all kinds of wired audio devices since it's just not worth the trouble of them inevitably breaking at some point due to them bending or something breaking internally. This is exactly how my Major 3 lost audio in one ear the same way as with yours. I recommend anything wireless really.

The problem with Marshall headphones are the counterfeit items is scattered all away and we cant identified which one is original.
Ironically even the official ones arent made by marshall but rather a 3rd party.

Apple has AAC codec, which is the same as aptx, so major's gonna work fine with Apple devices because of supporting this codec
