    Got the Ooni medium table on Black Friday for my Koda 16. Really happy with it. Also managed to source a perfectly sized barbecue cover with a dome shaped top that goes over the whole thing and drapes down to the floor to keep the rain off. It all came together nicely.

      Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you, I actually went out and tired that this weekend, and technically you can, but it has to go in on an angle, which isn’t ideal. The cupboard is about 350mm deep if that helps.

    This looks great but at £299 I just can't afford it! I got an ooni as a gift and at this rate a table is going to cost me more 😅. I think I might be hammering free pallets together and buying a stainless steel top instead!

    Tom, great videos by the way I’ve learned a lot from you, couple of things, is it feasible to store your gas in the cupboard, maybe cutting a hole in the back. I have a Koda 12, is there much room to prep a pizza on the top if I have the Oven at an angle as shown in your video. Cheers Tom…

    • @TomVoyageuk
      @TomVoyageuk  Год назад +1

      Thanks Steve! i love hearing from people who have found my videos useful! If your gas bottle is a large one like 13kg in the UK, it would be too big. i know some smaller ones are available but the cupboard is quite narrow ( my 12" pizza stone only just fits inside) As for prepping a pizza, it would be a bit tight but ive done it many times. If you have an IKEA near you, they sell these large bamboo boards for £12ish, and that fits on top nicely and provide a nice area to prep on. Most of the time ill use this table just to prepare and have the oven on the ooni folding table to save room.

    will a standard propane tank fit in the storage area? i am considering drilling a hole for the hose and storing my propane tank in the storage area so i can use my solo stove on the top like you showed in your video. thank you!

    • @TomVoyageuk
      @TomVoyageuk  9 месяцев назад

      Good question, but it depends on what size propane tank you have, in the Uk the 13/11kg size would be too big to fit, but the 5kg size may fit ok, but I’ve never tried that size. I know in the USA the tank sizes are different, if you’re from USA?

      I use my Karu 16 on this table a lot, and have never had any issues. If in doubt though go for the OONI table as its really tough, and actually designed to hold the larger pizza ovens.

    Hi Tom, just wondering how you’d compare making pizza on your Kamado Joe compared to a dedicated pizza oven? I’ve started making pizza in a the kamado quite often… wondering if I should get a separate pizza oven instead?? Would appreciate your thoughts

    • @TomVoyageuk
      @TomVoyageuk  2 года назад +2

      Thanks for the question Yashin! and thanks for checking out my channel.
      I started out making pizza in the kamado, and its a great bit of kit for doing so, but i did encounter a few reasons why i decided to invest in the ooni.
      Firstly, the cost of running. A kamado takes loads of fuel and around an hour to get to temp hot enough to cook pizza, you do a few cooks then your dome. so all that cost is now just burning away. the ooni heads up faster and uses far less fuel to do so.
      Second is the even cooking, a kamado sends all the heat from the base, and lower heat from the dome, meaning the top cooks slower that the base, which can cause issues.
      Thirdly is the wear on the Kamado. They're so good for long slow cooks, but heating ceramic up to 400°c, time and time again is going to stress the kamado, especially the seals and paint work. the ooni tends to cope better with high temps.
      Hope this helps

      @@TomVoyageuk thanks so much for your reply. I've done a few pizza cooks on my kamado and was thinking the same. I've done a few pizza cooks and my lower gasket has come off. Might invest in a separate pizza oven!

    • @TomVoyageuk

      Thanks for the comment Stuart, I’ve never had an issue with heat as the ooni doesn’t get too hot from the bottom. That table isn’t my usual cooking table though, just when I need the room for comparing pizza ovens in videos etc.

      Don't overfill the tray
      Don't keep opening the door
      Make sure plenty of room for air flow.
