    Minteh should be included in the squad to grow for 2-3 seasons. He has huge raw talent with very high ceiling and shouldnt be sold. If that means selling Longstaff, so be it. But please 15m is a joke and Leicester is a piss off. Need to at least double that with added bonus clauses for surviving and a cheaper buyback for relegating

    Leicester are known to demand high transfers for their players ie Mahrez 60m, Maguire 80m, Chilwell 45m, Fofana 70m, even Maddison last year contract is 40m. Now they want to low ball Longstaff. I wont even negotiate with them and will only start listening for bids starting 50m

      Longstaff is worth 25 mill max he’s really let down the mid field and has been woeful this season no one’s paying 50mil for him😂

      @@BenzBarkz I actually agree with you not being 50m, my reaction was just being annoyed with that low ball 15m bid. Should be wayyy north of that

    Longstaff is the glue that held the team together as a minimum standard, playing thru injury.. his positioning is good and is always there to receive a pass. Normally at 30 to 35M.. that could be down to 20M given its his last year of contract. That and also if the player himself wants to leave or stay and the wages offered by Leicester play a part. Leave it to Eddie.. he will weigh it against Minteh and the grand scheme of other players incoming or outgoing..

    • @SGProto
      @SGProto 5 месяцев назад +3

      Actually if there are a lot of new incoming players we need to bed.. keeping longstaff would be better.. as mentioned he's the glue, communicates well with new and old players in the middle and helps new comers gel faster.. Bruno's meteoric rise is a direct example.. very underrated for that.

      @@SGProto Appreciate your input on this. Longstaff contribution i admit is underappreciated. Hes been playing through injury and gets criticized for his performance. He works hard and puts his body on the line for his mates. Newcastle have many good players and its actually tough to decide who to sell, esp ones that can help with funds. Im gathering that Almiron doesnt want to leave, is that true? The trend now is that generally players in their last year contract will run it down because it gives them a lot of leverage to get a higher wage or signing on fee for being a free agent. I think after considering it, the sensible option is to extend Longstaff contract first.

      Longstaff is the glue and someone that puts his body on the line for his mates, while working hard. Im gonna have to disagree on atleast two of those statements. He will get knocked of the ball if there is opposition within 5 meters of him when he receives it, either through getting easily knocked over or generally uncertain ballhandling. Meanwhile off the ball he switches between constantly running into the areas his teammates currently need for either ballprogressing themselves or just generally overcrowding an area making it impossible to achieve any activity there, especially for himself since he is so easy to knock of the ball if he does get it.
      When in top form and high on confidence he does have an excellent ability to contribute with effective runs in behind the defence, arriving late for the occasional tap-in or the occasional precise longball or shot, however through the years this has been far from reliable, infact pretty far from it.
      25-30 mill id take it, so we can keep Minteh and gamble on him instead, anything below that and id keep Longstaff as a very effective squad/impact sub.
      The fact that he played through injuries last year, and in this time produced some very very very lackluster matches, while keeping other hopeful midfielders out of the squad is one of very few gripes i have with him and Howe. If you cant handle the ball or do any sort of physical challenges(like tackling), then either you or the manager needs to take the hard decision to let you rest, and that never happened last year, it just kept on happening match after match. Meanwhile Joe White is there on the bench, probably wondering how the feck he is ever getting a chance if Longstaff are allowed to play the full 90 minutes while being invisible again and again.
      Im hoping both he and Howe proves me wrong next season though, HWTL!

      @@larslnskog7580 Loving the input. Is Longstaff worth at least 25m after you just exposed him though? You just made Leicester bid looking reasonable there mate 😁

    Adidas, Sela and CL cash coming on July 1. £100-£120M to splash. Miggy is at least 25M so in the region of £150 mill. New keeper looks set probably £18-20M the 2 Juve boys could still leave us with about £50M to spend on a striker.

    haha you got me hyped again. If Trafford is one for the future its a good one, Ianacho im less hyped for but as a squad player is fine, Hoison I like the look of..Im probably alone in this but I like Longstaff and 15m seems a little low.

      Not alone. Longstaff is seriously under rated. Played injured mist of last season and was unfairly singled out by fans. He's easily £25mil + if we were to sell

    We should most definitely get rid of longstaff and keep minteh for a season or two atleast.
