I used to buy prebuilts and just upgrade the parts as needed. Last month I built my first PC from scratch. Putting it all together was the easy part. The absolute hardest part, for me, was wiring it properly. I had to watch a ton of different videos and take breaks, whenever I'd get frustrated. That's why it took me 3 days to get it running. I was surprised that everything worked. While I'm happy I built it myself, I may just go back to buying prebuilts and upgrading them. It's a bit pricier but less of a headache.
Congratulations on your first full build Dez, like Anna you should be happy with yourself & have a feeling of accomplishment. Cable Management like everything just takes some experience & a bit of thought when plugging the wiring in, If you manage each of the cables one at a time as you go it is much easier than dealing with it all as a Bowl of Spaghetti at the end, Another tip is when you start just use Twist Ties (you generally get some holding the cables in the packet, or use FreezerBag/GarbageBag ones) to keep cables neat & in place, unlike Cable Ties they are easy to undo & play with cable routing so you can try different things & get a feel for what you like. But if building PCs is just not your thing that is OK too as we are all different, that is why there are companies that provide the service & it gives people who love building PCs a job.
