Poor Gwayne just wanted do nobly knightly things and, occasionally, sleep not on a forest floor but in the inn, maybe have a drink or two... Instead he's forced to hang out with his sister's goth boyfriend, chased by the dragon and march all over the place without clear direction until dragon burns half of their army... And then he sees said goth boyfriend sniff his sister's hanky... No wonder he's pissed 😠😡
That “well… my thanks to the queen dowager” might be the best line in the entire series. Second only to the OG Otto’s “and what… has Ser Criston Cole done?”

One of the few changes the show made that worked. Gwayne is a good commander, logical but lacks experience with the "real world". Criston is a good general with real world experience but driven by his emotions. All their interactions are pretty good. They both grow learning from each other.
This is one of the changes I did not really notice. I think, imo, a good amount of the changes are not as bad as people are saying they are. I think a lot of them give more intriguing arcs to characters whose og stories would not make for super interesting television. But I definitely did not really catch this one
They butchered Alicent, but also butchered the Blacks competence in taking Kings Landing. Maybe this moment still happens with someone else, but will not have the same weight.
I still don't get why Cole didn't explain the plan for Rook's Rest battle to Gwayne and all his men...I mean you are leading them to be massacred by a fire spitting monster, at least let them know you have a plan and you are not just yoloing
How old is Gwayne, by the way? We know he jousts with Daemon in episode 1, and gets cheap shotted, then we never see him again till now in Season 2 Even if he was a late teen when we first saw him, he's gotta be like, late 30's or early 40's by now, yeah? Also, hope he gets a decent end in the show.... already know what goes down in the books for him

Ser Gwayne makes Ser Crispy more bearable. Thought he was gonna be another ass but he turns to be the best sass this season. Top tier with Ser Simon the Chill Lord.

Lmao, yeah basically 😅
Goth?
the face when gwayne realizes that his lord commander is super deppresso espresso i love
he’s like “well damn me too I guess” 😪
He heard that banging monologue and was like “well shit you’re right…we’re doomed”
The face when he realises he isn't dornish
“To the seven hells with you, Cole!”
NGL, that got me. 🤣

like father like son 😎
Not only is Cole lowborn, but the Reach and Dorne have had an enmity stretching decades. The Hightowers are of the Reach…so yeah 😂
"To the Seven Hells with you, Cole!" LMAO
my favorite line 💀☠
Cole and Gwayne will definitely have their intimate moment in season 3 after Cole reveals how Rhaenyra rejected him.
they be bro bonding now

Freddie Fox living up to his name is this role. The absolute knight of sass.

Thank you! I really like their dynamic! ❤
So...is Gwayne going to Harrenhall with Criston? Will we get the "Daemon gave us these cloaks" moments?

and it all went to shit for the king 😂
Well remember, they had levies from enemy castles, who would most likely desert when the chaos ensues

True, but at least tell Gwayne 😅

He’s a few years older than Alicent, who was 15 in S1E1, so I’d wager he was like 18 at the time, making him in his mid-to-late 30s now
Yea I was expecting an older actor tbh lol
I ship them XD
gwayne deserves better 🤌
