I've recently begun a run of Fallout 2 where I pick the one handed trait, and limit myself to only using one hand (on the mouse) while I play. I've limited my character to only use one handed weapons and tools. It's really fun, you should try something similar.

This video really shows how much progress New Vegas made, no stupid gambling skill only used for unlimited money in casinos, just luck which is already in SPECIAL and also limited for every casino because literal unlimited money doesn't make any sense.
good luck with fallout 3 lol also fact for fallout new vegas, south of Horowitz Farmstead, there’s a house fiends live in with two guards outside. hope you add this
Here's a fun fact: In fallout 1 and presumably 2, you can scam vendors with a high enough barter skill, the higher your barter skill, the more thoroughly you can scam them, and it only works on certain vendors, in fallout 1 the two i know of are Mitch and Vance at the Hub, it is a really boring and slow scam but it is specially helpful if you either don't have a high enough gambling skill or banned yourself from gambling, the scam works because some vendors buy items for less than they sell, for instance for me right now, vance sells stimpaks for 65 caps and buys them for 100, and smart people already figured out how the scam works, basically you need to buy at least as many of said item it needs to purchase that ammount and one more, so for the above example, you buy 2 stimpaks and sell them back to him for 3 stimpaks, then you buy 4 stimpaks for 3, rinse and repeat until he only has 2 stimpaks left, if your barter skill is high enough you can probably buy 2 stimpaks for 1 stimpak, low barter skills will mean the difference between buy and sell is lesser which means you won't be able to fleece as many stims from him, you can also use this strategy to slowly but surely steal his caps which is only limited by the lowest value item you have, this is because you'd be selling him an item for 10 caps and buying it back at 6, the lower the value of the item, the more caps you can have him part with. The main downside to all of this is that it's incredibly boring and slow.
Seeing as there is no Gambling in Fallout 3 I'm curious how you might go about it in that game. I mean in New Vagas it's gotta be easier, the gambling in the Atomic Wrangler, Vikie and Vance casino, the Sera Madre and of course the Strip are all goldmines with Caravan being viable if you want to do more gambling. But 3 doesn't have any of that, closest thing I can think of to farm money is selling people into slavery with the mesmatron. But no clue how viable that is long term.
Mantis idk if you read these but PLEASE do the millionaire challenge with Bully SE! I don’t think it’s even possible but would be impressed if you found a way.
Yeah, you used gifted. Gifted is considered a kind of cheat built into the game. That and the skilled trait is what used in my first playthrough of Fallout 2. You can build a super strong character or just a really good character than can do just about anything in game. I wanted to use guns, so I didn't put my strength that high. I think it was like 6. I played Fallout 2 for the first time in 2003. Later on I bought Fallout 1 and 2 in a double pack off Ebay in 2007. When I played Fallout 1 I did the same thing. Skilled and gifted to make a decent character that can just do everything.
Ha! I mentioned how important stealing is and I make all my characters thieves in F1 and 2, and this video is all about stealing. 😀 Yep, you don't really need high barter skills and such if you can just loot everyone's pockets. XD
I'm curious how long this would take in NV. I'm doing a run on the PlayStation Network (which doesn't have the DLCs) and have almost 100k without trying. I still have two casinos I can get kicked out of, as well. The interesting thing about doing a run for a million in NV is that all the casinos have a cap. It's still possible, but it's much more of a grind, I think.
i practically never gamble at casinos in new vegas and always have 100-200k caps by max level. i always get to max level before the battle of hoover dam and most of that money is just from selling legion assassin's weapons lmao
@@napatora Is this with the DLC's? I'll be honest, I hardly pay attention to how many caps I have because I usually don't spend them. Or if I do, I have so many it doesn't matter. Even with going to the casinos, I start off thinking I'm going to spend the caps but by the end of the run I still have a bunch. Seeing these videos was the first time I thought about trying to hit some level of caps
a significant amount of time without some sort of exploit, as even with all of the casinos busted out and all of the gold bars from dead money you're less than halfway there a fast way to make a lot of money is to get high-value items like combat armor and anti-materiel rifles and repairing them with service rifles and medium armor farmed from respawning ncr troopers, but you have to be a fairly high level to get those expensive items to drop
@@fuckingstupidhandles That's what I thought as well. If you made a melee build and sold your ammo, it could help too. However I can't think of any mechanic like Fallout 4 where you can make a bunch of water, or Fallout 2 where you can just gamble. Unless I'm missing something, it seems like you will have to grind out around a half million caps.
@@ManiacMageetheG there's some fucky stuff with a couple of vendors selling bugged combat armors that you can buy for a low condition price but the one you get is fully repaired, so that's kind of free money, but i haven't tried abusing it repeatedly, and sometimes it bugs out and your combat armor disappears and/or you don't get anything, so i'm not sure. it'd also be abusing a bug so it wouldn't really be fair

I'm using a mod in New Vegas that turns bottle caps into Gold 🪙 coins with weight. Making them feel really valuable. Also turned pre war money into both currency and much more valuable. But still very rare, unless your in the Sierra Madre
Instead of a million caps in FNV, how about a million NCR dollars and a million Legion money... and a million bottlecaps. Actually how long would it take to get a million of all the currencies in FNV? Including Sierra Madre chips... Pre-War Money...
Personally it took me about 8 in game years to reach over a million, not including all the money I spent on 2mm EC and .223. Can't get enough of that stuff when it comes to Deathclaw and Alien grinding. Turns out that doing jobs for EXP and Karma instead of cash, and only setting foot in casinos to kill someone, doesn't really make you all that much money.

With how much we make in any game. I can imagine us rapidly de-valueing the caps to the point that NCR dollars or Legion denarius is a far safer option.😀
