Love the personalities of the Statler Brothers! Same with the Oak Ridge Boys! These two groups people, is the main core of REAL QUARTET country and gospel music. And why it has survived!!!

harmony and 'together' music !!!

They never allowed fame to destroy them. Very simple family business. They all work. In town people would say hello but never star struck. They way they acted off stage, they could have been welders. Very simple people.

This interviewer seems very tuned out. Not great questions. Statlers handled it very well.

Don apparently trimmed his beard; it's not as noticeable. 1989. About the time countr y music as we.know it died out.
Now Harold is dead.
But Jimmy is an excellent leggero tenor. No doubt he was a proper choice.
