Fantastic review! I also don't think you should have to apologize for giving your opinion at the end, no matter how long. If anything it's commendable that you are doing such a thorough job, and personally I feel that listening to an experts opinion at the end of a review is half the fun and puts things into perspective! Without the lengthy explanations it would merely be an unboxing video, so the people that have apparently complained in your comments should just watch those instead.
Despite the deficiencies (you could fix those yourself), this was still a very well thought out bag! The organization was very efficient, with a ton of room for adding your own things to it! If people would remember; you can carry that inner sleeve separately and the main bag can can be carried by the second person, with even more stuff! Absolutely excellent review! I don't believe any body else does it better than you Eric! It would be nice if one day, you could take some of the kits in the back yard and let us see how big that "tent" would be when it is set up properly; or see some of the water purification systems put together and see what kind of time it takes to purify some water. Thanks so much for spending the money and taking the time to make the videos and showing them to us!
I agree, and as he says, its a non-expert buy and forget type kit. I think the fact that its all clearly labelled would be a huge asset if it was actually used in an emergency and people do odd things when under stress, the clearer and more logical the better. @@KitbashedSurvival True, but I like the organization of this. Make me sit down with pencil and paper and diagram what my survival pack would look like and what would be in it. Having the 10 C's of survivability would be a good starting point.
I guess being a 'prepping/survival enthousiast' is now a thing. What a time to be alive.... You can source a similar bag and all its content for probably $100 online. The price is truly ridiculous but the survival elements take the cake. It looks like it was put together for people who watch post apocalyptic Hollywood movies and computer games and then think that these are somehow based on actual reality. working in a handful of industries. 1/3 of the entire cost is for adding a logo. it could of been a $200 kit with the color, and logo in the main backpack but I can confidently say each product logo costs an extra $5-30. all those logo's cost down to the consumer. surprised all the first aid kit items didn't use the logo on it. lol
Good video. I wondered about these bags so I’m glad you reviewed it. I agree about the multitool and knife. There’s no reason for cheaply made gear in a bag at this price point. I really like the pros and cons and wish you’d incorporate them in all your videos.
Excellent review, I agree with your points about the tool situations and your additions to the bag. As far as the price goes I also agree. You are an excellent narrator, great job.
That bag remember me this kind of bags you can see on sci-fi movies when your starship crashes on unknown planet and all the crew of your starship had the same standar emergency bag. It's kind of that.
If they would have cut their branding in half they could have added all your suggestions and still sold it for 560$ and I bet you they would have had even more profit too... we get it... it’s uncharted all the way... lol love your channel.
No way you anyone can order all that stuff from China and they'll put whatever name you want , it's marketed for rebranding! This company doesn't even have to have the stock or warehouse, these kits are sent from Ali Baba ! It's the Chinese version of Amazon, like Amazon they already have the products ! It's market rebranding, there's many companies that sell the same items items with whatever logo or name you want on it! There's no overhead and they even ship it out for free ! They charge a very small percentage, an that's not even from you finale price !you can have this same package piece for piece or change the items around and make it much better taking a smaller cut ! There's a thousand % markup on every item!
I just paid 90 for the backpack itself normally 150 but I had a discount and from what I've heard looking at the website and Amazon reviews and youtube the reviews the bagitself is amazing and completely water proof and I liked the design of it so I bought it
Uhhh...no... The rz masks which i use daily wood working are $45 each ...the sawyer mini is $20 ...thats $110 so far...the water bottle is another $40 then the bag alone is $150 so 5 components market price are $300 to just go buy
I love the concept and the organization of the kit along with the fact it is relatively lightweight. I am not necessarily impressed with the branded items inside especially at the price point. They definitely should have included a pair of the thicker mylar style sleeping bags and a compass for navigation, a more complete first aid kit and water purification tabs. The bag and organization are great but feel a bit let down for that price point.
I feel like the kind of person who would be buying an over-priced pre-packaged kit like this is probably not going to know much about land navigation. A compass would probably just confuse them. The branding was way over-done for the price point. At $100, I can understand, but $600, no.
I thought I would be unimpressed because of other pre-assembled bags I've seen, but it does look well assembled. The backpack itself is wonderfully organized and labeled, while being enclosed in a fine water-proof shell, and then it's not stuffed with a bunch of gimmick gear. I could also see some more items to be thrown in, but it's not a bad starting point, aside from the high price.
The branding on each individual item just tells me you can purchase the items individually to add to your own kit or to get replacements for the Uncharted kit. Great really. I have to say that this kit is, in my opinion, is tippity top. Well worth the money.
Strongly disagree. Looks like it is filled with dollar store items. The bag seems to be the only thing premium quality. Better kits come half the price
I just put a bit of tightly wound electrical tape around the tops of my lighters to prevent the lever from being depressed. Saves space and weight over a medicine bottle, and is quieter. Give it a try. 👍
The logo is what 1st caught my attention as I raise Saint’s. The labeling & a specific place for everything, is why I would buy this bag. I would swap out for some of my own gear. If they sold the the bag without the gear just the labeled organizer I would buy several. Work truck, home & each vehicle
ok first of all, this was so worth the wait, really clear concise breakdown as always. your contextual opinion segment really added to the video imo. one thing i appreciate about your vids is that you have a reasonable take, whereas others feel the need to either be hyper critical or overly gushy, its nice to see a level headed take and that really came in when discussing the price, for some its too much, for others its fine. the actual kitbashing whilst always fun, really was cool in this one, the additions really took this bag to a premium level, also completely agree about how name brand tools would have gone a long way to justifying price. and final comment, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A BREAKDOWN OF YOUR BUG OUT BAG. thank you for continuing to provide fun, entertaining, informative and inspirational content.
I second all of that. Eric gets the tone just right, he's enthusiastic without being over military, or the opposite, naive. He also seems to know how much to talk, and is relaxed and easy to listen to. It's nice to see this channel growing.
I love watching what he adds to the kits to make them better. I bought his highly favored Best Glide ASE kit and added the same things he did! I was so happy he finally got over to this kit! I've been waiting for this review.
They could definitely replace those goggles with sunglasses and add a couple more Datrex bars, a couple of water bladders, water purification tabs, a compass, and I'm always a fan of a fishing kit. I feel like fishing kits arent just good for food but they are also something to keep you occupied and keep up morale.
Great video Eric! Worth the wait. I like seeing the change of emphasis for a bug out, 3-day bag as opposed to the small survival kits you take hiking. I always love the improvements! Thanks from the UK x
I'd actually like to see him build several bags with a variety of budgets. I'd love to see how he'd build a $1000 -$1500 kit down to a $50 kit. That way people with a variety of budgets would know how to start a kit with the money they have.

Good review, thanks! If I may add: Swap or supplement the immoidium for medical charcoal like Norit. It will also help if you accidentally drink or eat something toxic which isn't all that improbable in a survival scenario. I'm not sure if I missed it, but you might add a small bottle of high percentage alcohol to disinfect. If all goes well and you add a drinkable alcohol you can use it as a moral boost ;) I'm starting my own bug in and get home 'kits'. It surprises me nobody adds medical activated charcoal to their kit.
That's a good idea and I'm not surprised people don't add it because most of this scene copies each other. Smarties know you can make activated carbon or buy it from an aquarium supply place.
@@badxradxandy True, you can buy activated charcoal from an aquarium shop or even make it yourself. The medical one is of a certain quality that suited for the occasion. But when you have no alternatives it's not a bad idea to try the others. Wouldn't even be a last ditch effort, just less dose controlled and effective.
Awesome review. Going by their price my selfmade kits probably worth a couple grand each. Having watched alot of these reviews. Gonna stick with making my own. Love your channel
I just received this kit the other day. The solar panel and hand crank on the radio were damaged. Called the company and they are sending a new one. I didn't have the same knife as in your video and that is being sent to me as well. I got mine on sale so jumped on the opportunity to have one. I really like the organized insert.
I'm watching this, you keep going there bad weather going on. Me up, here to, 3rd round of storms in 17hrs. We need 4-5days of rain, Wisconsin is a Bit dry, my area is one match away from forest fires
Good video. The best part about the kit is the backpack can be used to fill with water to transport large amount of water while the content can still be carried as a backpack. I would definitely have added a water proof tarp. I also would have added a large rolled up wool bkanket on the outside for bedding and warmth. At the end of the day a survival kit should reflect a backpack full of camping gear with a medical kit and hunting/fishing. Tent/shelter, sleeping system, campfire, cookware, water supply, and food.
Pretty cool set up. I didn't read through all the comments, so maybe it was already said, but I would add some food to the inside of that water bottle. Some oatmeal packets, maybe a bag of rice and bouillon cubes, and a couple plastic spoons. I do think that if you strap some more hot gear to the outside of the main pack, the inner pack with shoulder straps is for the second person to carry, and what's strapped to the outside of the main pack, can then be thrown inside it, since this is a TWO man kit. Keep up the great work.
I bought this for my folks who moved to a pretty remote part of MO. I know there is better equipment out there, but this is a well thought-out light weight kit and I feel much better knowing they have it as a back-up at least.
With your additional things that looks like a nice kit, however I would add a small tarp for a better shelter and some big plastic drum liners for improvised bed (fill it with leaves or other soft things).
Great.... Many thanks.... By the way I am seeing this from Iraq... My city in the desert.. So I do appreciate if you review some survival kits built for desert areas....

For 600 dollars I want a pistol with ammo, a grenade launcher (with ammo), and a pistol flare plus all this other stuff... Oh sorry, I just traveled through time from 1982 😄 Glad I brought a Smith & Wesson revolver with my pack!
I know this was a year ago but I'm going to try this anyway. You were talking about the ferrocerium Rod not being able to strike it with the knife because it didn't have a right angle on the back but you also said that the knife had serrations and you can strike a ferrocerium rod on the serrated part of the knife also you could probably use the shears that's in there and honestly as long as it's sharp item such as even a piece of glass will strike a ferrocerium rod it doesn't have to be a carbon steel. I see a lot of people saying oh you have to have a carbon steel to strike the Ferro rod. Anyway you get the point I'm rattling on now. That's okay for people with money. I spend it where it counts. Also went thru & vacuum sealed alot of the small objects like lighters, starters, batteries, notepad/pen/pencil/chalk, etc. Strapped to it are 2 Ifaks, mag & dump pouches, & some misc items like a radio, carabiners, & glow sticks. Decent Emergency Kit. Price is a bit excessive for quality of items included. It could be, IMHO, less expensive if the Co. ventured away from branding EVERYTHING!!! It costs a lot to "Tool-Up" the manufacturing Facility/ Equipment to do so. For the price they are charging, if they didn't brand EVERYTHING, they could have put quality gear in the Kit as you concluded. I do like what you did to make it better. Curious though... How much does it weigh now? Thanks for another awesome Survival Kit walk-through. Looking forward to the next one! Cheers 🍻
Another great video. I really think you would do well making and selling your own kits. If that's not your thing, I understand. Maybe a viewer sweepstakes for an idea. Cause I know myself and plenty other viewers would love a chance to get one of your homemade kits.
Maybe for future reference. You can use the round dent in the knife just above the handle as your striking surface for your flint. For the rest I agree with the the things you pointed out. Also heat could've had been assebled differently that would've worked better aswell.
Appears to be a good organized kit, that's a no brainer, no shopping around for items. I'm not big on all the branding but hey? If ur into it whatever. There's no perfect kit and most kits can be upgraded, adding additional items will always make a good kit a great kit or a better kit at the very least. I appreciate ur take, good review👍
I have looked at that pack a few times in the last few years and thought about buying it. They even sell the pack separately. Which i would just load my own gear anyway, although it is a nice full survivor kit. I would recommend putting the inner survival bag into a pack liner or garbage bag and then into the main back pack. Just for extra rain protection. Multiple redundancy! Very cool pack! I have been waiting for this video. Hell ya brother this will be good!
Thank you for showing us this kit. I wouldn't dream of spending that much money on a kit like that, so it's nice to be able to see it another way.
I suggest including 2-4 of those packaged water in case one needs water immediately. You can store them in that metal water bottle.
I would or stuffed some stuff in the bottle too.
I would just fill up the bottle with water. I mean.. that's what it's for.
@@johannescampe9684 Even metal will burst if your pack regularly encounters freezing temps. (I have ruined a few sigg bottles even when leaving room for expansion). the foil water packs usually have enough expansion volume and are flexible enough to survive.
@@b.s.864 That's a good point. Sachets are over priced and awkwardly shaped though. Perhaps a plastic bottle nested in your steel bottle and filled with tap water. Corrosion safe and if you leave the steel bottle lid cracked no chance of a collapse. Plus you have a spare container.
Those are good ideas!
I agree, and as he says, its a non-expert buy and forget type kit. I think the fact that its all clearly labelled would be a huge asset if it was actually used in an emergency and people do odd things when under stress, the clearer and more logical the better. I've got survival kits all over the place I've made years ago and I can't for the life of me remember what's in each! I think I may unpack and repack them all!
@@casinodelonge Now that sounds like a fun project 😁
Perhaps Eric could film it!!

One thing I never see anyone add is womans sanitary products. I am a man too but you never know who you are bugging out with and even if you don't use it in a shtf situation I can guarantee it will be a good barter item.
the brand Surviveware include a total of 8 tampons in theirs. They're the only ones I've seen
I was reading a fictional book and the author was writing about a commando guy who in the story said he had to go in a foriegn country and sometimes stock up on extra large condoms and absorbent pads (Kotex) the pads because just incase you got shot makes a good bandage. Don't know if it really works but I am guessing that it should work as a temporary solution at least. Just mentioned because it doesn't matter they could be used for other purposes be cool if anyone knows if they could be used for such situations
@@johnree6106 I have practical experience in tactical medicine and the tampon thing is a bit of a wives tale. There's no reason to carry a tampon for a penetrating injury because it doesn't work unless the wound channel is very uniform, whereas compressed gauze can be used on nearly every type of wound.
@@johnree6106 the pads work but compressed gauze would be more versatile
Both pads and tampon are good for wound treatment, not the most sterile but sterile enough for emergencies...
This is the nicest kit I've ever seen premade. Truly well thought out for individuals who can just buy a kit.
Hats off to you man, this obviously took you ages. Love your channel, keep the vids coming
They should do a survival kit that helps you stay away from Pedophile priests, you'd make a fortune not only in Ireland but around the world ..
The kit is really finely organized and will be a great guide for me to put together my own bag. Thank you for the review.
Can we see a video about your survival room with all your gear?
That video would be 10 hours lol
that would be dope
My god yes, that would be amazing!
Yes, please!!!
I just realized your in Georgia. I'm from Chattanooga TN, tho I live in washington state I have family all over TN, NC, GA, AL, FL. !!! I sure do miss the smokey mountain range... thanks for all you do on your videos they have helped me to build great kits myself. Thanks again and take care
I'd like to see how you'd make a survival kit with a $600 budget. Also, between the high budget survival kits you've reviewed, which one is your favorite?
My favorite so far is probably to SOLKOA S3 kit.
@@KitbashedSurvival True, but I like the organization of this. Make me sit down with pencil and paper and diagram what my survival pack would look like and what would be in it. Having the 10 C's of survivability would be a good starting point.
@@KitbashedSurvival he has great idea for future material, I’d watch
I’d watch that video.
me too i agree he has seen hundreds of survival kits if a single man can make a perfect one he is the one
All that's missing is a zombie axe.
Or a pipe pistol...
Strange that it's a thing when it used to be just common sense
working in a handful of industries.
Yup. I dont understand why the bags are always so tight. I would want big bellow pouches to hold clothes etc. Hot and cold weather etc.
Now finished watching, good video, informative and honest, I like that.
14:40 this is a well done review, you took the trouble to test the radio well.
If they would have cut their branding in half they could have added all your suggestions and still sold it for 560$ and I bet you they would have had even more profit too... we get it... it’s uncharted all the way... lol love your channel.
Thank was exceedingly well done, thank you. I'm an Uncharted Supply Dealer and I'm going to add all of your extra items to an optional auxiliary kit.
The outer bug could also be used to carry extra water if you find any or fill it with air and use it as a floatation device. Thank you for the review
I really like the organized presentation of the gear.
$200 for the gear and $400 for the branding. Seems legit...
I just paid 90 for the backpack itself normally 150 but I had a discount and from what I've heard looking at the website and Amazon reviews and youtube the reviews the bagitself is amazing and completely water proof and I liked the design of it so I bought it
I've seen worse for this price. Most of the items don't seem to be junk.
@@drogadepc I don't know did you see that knife all $7 of it?
Uhhh...no... The rz masks which i use daily wood working are $45 each ...the sawyer mini is $20 ...thats $110 so far...the water bottle is another $40 then the bag alone is $150 so 5 components market price are $300 to just go buy
I love how organised and labelled everything is so you don’t have to rummage through the whole pack for one thing.
I really appreciate your content mate, thank you for the time invested.
My pleasure!
They probably paid more for the permission and tooling for all the branding than they did for the contents.
I couldn't justify that kinda $$$ for this product. Thank you for the sacrifice. Much appreciated. Love your content, mate.
Excellent kit frame, but adding higher quality tools would make it worth the cost. As it is, I don't think the value is there.
I agree! The bag is the only good thing about the kit. It's missing too many important items.
I agree
The dry bag and the organizer are the only two things that are worth it, not enough food for one person for 3 days let alone 2.
What is the company who makes this again? I missed it!
I wish they put their brand on some of the stuff, just to remind us what is the company called.
Put those lighters in a medicine bottle. They can discharge in the bag if something bumps the lever!
I just put a bit of tightly wound electrical tape around the tops of my lighters to prevent the lever from being depressed. Saves space and weight over a medicine bottle, and is quieter. Give it a try. 👍
Very good unbiased review. I completely agree with your explanation of the pros and cons of the bag, gear, price point and intended target audience.
I love the organizing compartments but that $600 price tag, ouch!

Those RZ masks are awesome. I use one with a charcoal filter for Fighting brush and grass fires to filter out the particulates.
I saw it mentioned here, so I'll second the suggestion, would love to see a companion video, where you build a survival bag from scratch on a budget.
I'd actually like to see him build several bags with a variety of budgets. I'd love to see how he'd build a $1000 -$1500 kit down to a $50 kit. That way people with a variety of budgets would know how to start a kit with the money they have.
@@evecarrington562$ 1500? Wow...how much does stuff cost where you live? I could buy a used pop-up camper for that. Now that would be the ultimate survival kit! lol.lol
@@roberthutchins1507 That's what I mean! I'd love to see what Eric would do with $1500! What kind of equipment would he include in such a kit? How much equipment would he include. Good review, thanks!
If I may add:
Swap or supplement the immoidium for medical charcoal like Norit. It will also help if you accidentally drink or eat something toxic which isn't all that improbable in a survival scenario.
I'm not sure if I missed it, but you might add a small bottle of high percentage alcohol to disinfect. If all goes well and you add a drinkable alcohol you can use it as a moral boost ;)
I'm starting my own bug in and get home 'kits'. It surprises me nobody adds medical activated charcoal to their kit.
That's a good idea and I'm not surprised people don't add it because most of this scene copies each other. Smarties know you can make activated carbon or buy it from an aquarium supply place.
@@badxradxandy
True, you can buy activated charcoal from an aquarium shop or even make it yourself.
Really enjoyed this vid, subbed.
Thank you & keep em coming.
Love from London ❤️🇬🇧
I’d fill the water bottle with a water filter or filter straw , some water purification pills and a few other items not included in kit.
Great vid! Thorough review. Also liked your thoughts at the end. Yeah. They brand their stuff more than Weyland-Yutani.
"Building Better Worlds" Lol.
For that price I wish they would use non plastic buckles so that they don’t deteriorate or break under stress that’s my negative on the bag
This was my first survival bag. It taught me a lot and I still use the backpack.
Did it teach you Karate?
I bought this for my folks who moved to a pretty remote part of MO. I know there is better equipment out there, but this is a well thought-out light weight kit and I feel much better knowing they have it as a back-up at least.
Good analogy. You are also paying for the organization. The pieces are not bad quality. and they aren't cheaping out.
I would put a 10 watt powerfilm solar panel in there
Great job !! All said, just goes to show ya what some good common sense and free thinkers can accomplish. Loved it, well done sir. Thank you
Wow! I am really impressed with the organization of the bag. Also that there's enough space for DIY. The price? well let's just say I'm under whelmed.

I like the pack. Never really thought about looking for a drybag pack until now, and they're readily available.
For what's inside: The Beanies look decent, and I'm impressed with the Sawyer water Filtration system considering a lot of what is in there is just branded Chinese products. Everything else was either mildly interesting choices, or somewhat interesting items. The Datrex Rations were a nice touch.
Being from Ga it sure does sound like you’re in the ole tornado belt through Cobb and to the north. Great video by the way. I was just reviewing this very pack and here’s a video to really see what’s in the bag. Thanks for your work!
Great video Eric. I agree with you on most of the pros and cons. I’m really disappointed that there’s no branded bottle opener 😢 stay safe!

Riight for him to just call out also, you can tell hes a petty guy, the same way he was tireda seeing the brand, we were tired of him calling out the brand everytime he noticed it, its like the times he talked sbout the logo would have made this video ten mins shorter, hey we get it, maybe everything is branded incase you need to buy replacements, but hey we get da picture buddy
On the side of the pack, you could add a large thermos with a handle, a rolled up sleeping bag or a blanket. On bottom straps, you secure some bagged clothes or a tent.
Have a great day and stay safe and keep your powder dry!

Decent Emergency Kit. Price is a bit excessive for quality of items included. It could be, IMHO, less expensive if the
Co. ventured away from branding EVERYTHING!!! It costs a lot to "Tool-Up" the manufacturing Facility/ Equipment
to do so. For the price they are charging, if they didn't brand EVERYTHING, they could have put quality gear in the Kit

Maybe for future reference. You can use the round dent in the knife just above the handle as your striking surface for your flint. For the rest I agree with the the things you pointed out. Also heat could've had been assebled differently that would've worked better aswell.
That's a pretty cool pack. I wish there were more dry bag backpacks like that.
Thru hikers that walk thousands of miles, spend hundreds of dollars on a backpack and a ten dollar dry sack to go inside of it.
I love survival. I can't live without surviving.
They make a survival raft aswell. Its even packable if you can believe it. Awesome piece of survival gear!!
