      @@StephenGlencross-yg4nt They have covered this previously. This involves carving out a mountain and not digging soil. It involves heavy machinery difficult to bring up the mountain and costs more than the property is worth. Instead they will ‘tank’ the walls internally and have an internal drain. Makes good sense under the circumstances.

      @@john36riv1 yes that will be the best option under the difficult circumstances yes that's what to do it will be okay as well , take a bit of room up but it will work well done.

    One thing you can tell your girls when this is all finished, is that “ hard is OK”! You’re doing a great job! I can already picture the two of you sitting on your upper patio drinking your coffee peacefully in the morning, marveling at what you’ve done!

      yes what a wonderful image. I'd so love to one day sit with them on that patio sipping coffee after watching this journey. Wouldn't that be awesome to be there and enjoy it in person with them!

      I agree. "hard is OK" is one of the most important lessons we can teach our children by them observing us. They observe so much of the contrary these days!
      And every time Brady walks around that room, I imagine the same. I see them up there having their coffee like they did on the reservoir, but in their style they created for it.

    Has anyone count how many wheelbarrows of cement it required for ONE wall?! WOW! Superb workmen! They know how to work in difficult situations and difficult surroundings, let alone a mountain side. I am guessing their motto would have been "No job is difficult! Bring it on!". You have done a great job pitching in along with the men! Heather does her job the best, to sand and paint! It will be beautiful! Cement on face LOL!

      It’s much less harmless than smoking, what has the world come to, the next thing we have to wear masks when someone is sneezing

      Yes I agree with you they should all be wearing masks when sanding, and with all the cement dust, over time these hazardous materials can cause cancers. I was also shocked that they don’t wear ear protection.

    It’s a humongous project with the unexpected challenges, recalibration, restrictions, etc. Even so, you are moving ahead with patience, fortitude, and positivity. The cheerfulness of all involved through the challenges will manifest in a beautiful, idyllic mountain home. Can’t wait to see the family settled🙏

    I grew up in a 400 year old stone house in Italy. Your channel shows the hard work and skill that went into the building. So glad you are trying to preserve it. It will be a forever homestead. Love you guys.

    The turquoise cement mixer really lends a pop of color to the gray day. And it would never occur to me that you could get a cement truck up onto your property. Great work, your home will be snug and warm when you’re done!

    The building of that concrete wall is way beyond amazing. Well done to a very strong team working together. Well done also Heather for all the sanding and standing of those large wooden pieces. What a task! Can't wait to see that wall unveiled once it has all dried and set. What a labour of Hercules! Hope the girls are thriving at school. Their Italian must be coming along wonderfully.       Yes! At some point I hope we hear the girls ...and the whole family speaking in Italian!!! I wonder if Heather & Brady practice every night on some app or just converse with each other. Would love to see them in conversation with the local village people, or Italian friends of theirs!

    Counting sheep...more likely wheel barrows of cement mix...I'll bet it was a relief to lay your head too sleep after that day...what a crew, but more so, what an unbelievable work ethic, your family will be rewarded every single morning that you wake up in that beautiful/peaceful valley...Cost...priceless... I can't wait to see the final build and hope that there are some local antiquities included in the décor, my favorite build in the many, many builds that I watch on U-tube, thank you for allowing all of us along for the ride.

    Recovering old Stonehouses in the mountains to bring life back into those valleys that tend to become depopulated over time, a way to live in contact with nature, where time seems to have stopped, good work guys.

    It’s really starting to look like a home and not just a collection of rocks and stones on narrow terrain. You have come so far. I’m really getting excited. I can imagine how y’all feel
    I love hearing the church bells. They are very relaxing.
    Because you explained so much about cutting the stone and building the walls. On other programs I know what is going on. I really love this project. It’s going to be beautiful.

    That lift is genius! Short of having a pump truck, that's the coolest thing ever! And, this is why you have a dream team!!! I'm trying to imagine what these guy's shoes must look like at the end of the day. I wonder if the cement dries and they can't get them undone!

      that lift must be in fairly widespread use in Italy. When we restored our apartment in Verona in 1987, in a narrow street on an upper floor, the muratori used same system to avoid carrying stuff up from the street, both to avoid the extra work and to keep the interior stairway clean and clear.     Those men are a very well oiled team and what a lovely team they are, jovial, friendly and even a joke or two in that heavy cloud and you all just pour, pour and pour. Must have all been very weary and tired after all of that. I do not think I could have carried on like that Brady it is like stoking a ship, stoking the cement mixer. That is certainly a good cement mixer going full throttle all day. Your place is coming on in leaps and bounds, not long and it will be finished. Hope you get your visas soon. And that view is astounding! oooo the wheelbarrow pulley - ha is it👍👍 & good job sanding - she’s awesome - watching you dump the concrete out of the wheelbarrow and hefting those boards up to the second floor reminds me of how hard you have worked through all of this.     This last wall is soo demanding! I thought it would be a simple effort. Think again! That concrete sandwich wall is fascinating and the creative wheelbarrow sling is magnificent.     I have thoroughly enjoyed every single video since I've been watching. Both of you work so hard I really enjoy watching every step of the process especially when your girls were helping I can't wait to see the look their faces when you all make the move into your beautiful 'new' home picture of all works so hard on!     Tying wires to join walls together for strength also plastic membrane to stop water and damp between the walls with a field drain beyond to run water and soak away from your housse good luck .

    OMG. Such manual labour. In USA & Australia in would come the cement mixer truck and long leads to go to the job. Bloody hard work for you all. Loving following you guys. 👍👍
