I so enjoyed this video! My parental grandfather was the head shoe buyer for J C Penney. Mr. Penney would come for dinner at my Grandparents home on Long Island. Watching this video made me very proud that my Grandfather spent his career working for such A fine and honorable man. Thank you!

The Sears Catalogue was Amazon long before the internet. It caused many rural general stores to adjust their pricing or go bankrupt. Montgomery Ward also had a similar catalogue at the same time.

Most folks might not realize it but years ago a person could make a good living/career working in retail stores like JC Penney. I worked for a store in my hometown in the1970's right after high school. Many of the floor workers and department managers had been with the company for years.

Its funny every name brand store Sears, Montgomery Ward,Kmart, Woolworth, and many others all started with the customer in mind. Even Walmart started with the same ideas, yet they are more corporate.
