Well, now I know how this game ends... 32 years after I first played it in the arcades. Thanks! It also puts to rest a rumor I once heard of a boss fight against a mummy at the end (I never actually saw or knew anyone who actually beat this game before watching your video, and neither did anyone I knew back in the day.)
I love playing all these classic arcade games again but this game is HARD. I'm still trying just to get through the first level. It's still a blast getting to play the classics from the 70s and 80s again. Thanks and keep 'em coming!
That was totally awesome to watch, I've been waiting 28 years to see someone make it through to the end and you did it with only one life and no smart bombs. It probably would have taken me 28 years to be able to get to the golden death mask! Thanks for uploading this played to the end, amazing.
Now this was some VG (Video Game), that has ever brought me some comfort. It was something I had admired about, getting the great big grand prize treasure.
I played this game almost 40 years ago as a kid and I remember completing stage 4 just like you did. But the game didn't end there. You had to start all over again, back to stage 1 - Only difference was that they added an extra key for each stage second time around.
It is suppose to be about 12 level (never made that far only until level 5) as I have played the original so it must be altered to only level 4. It game did restart from where you left off if you have put in additional coins (arcade game at a fish 'n' chip shop). But the above game is exact copy of original Tutankham game. Thanks for bring back good memories.
There is something satisfying about that old Atari style sound effect of the laser blast or whatever it is the character is spose to be shooting. That slightly fuzzy sound.
I played this on ColecoVision and it drove me nuts. When I finally played it in the arcade, I preferred the arcade version better. I really like the game, but being able to only shoot right and left meeses you up when you have enemies coming from top or bottom. I guess the designers thought it would be too easy if you could shoot up and down. Nicely played!
Diamondfist1 I had it on ColecoVision.. Didn’t like it at first but it grew on me.. I never really cared for Gauntlet though which seemed to get all the credit for this type of gameplay
The game's 4 stages repeat until you get to stage 16 which is stage 4 but with additional locks and keys. The monsters also get faster. My high game is 416,000 stage 19 which is posted on MARP. Rob Barrett is the undisputed champ on this game. He holds the world record of 600,000+ and unofficially scored 992,000.
@MamePlayer Where can I get this game and play on my PC as been searching for a long time but can't find anywhere to download and play for free. Can you please give me a valid and work link or website? Thanks

Bless you laddy! I’m 13 again!
Great game. Probably one of Konami's most underrated games.

Yep, I also tried this game many times and could never come close. Only once in a while could I ever get past the first stage.
Same! Many coins went into this machine for me but I could never beat it!

Man did I pile some quarters into this as a teenager....thanks for this 👍
Finally, someone has beaten another difficult Konami game! Congratulations.

Incredible. I used to play the heck out of this game!

Christ this was a hard game. The fact you could only fire horizontally drove me nuts. Only played it a few times.

Rock on 1982!
Never knew the game ended after the 4th board. Kind of a rip! You oughta be able to keep going.
I have never passed stage 3 and now, after decades, I know that there were only 4 stages O_o, anyway it was really difficult.
Playing this on a real arcade machine, you wouldn't be able to shoot left and right simultaneously because it uses a second joystick for that.
RMS ftw!

cool
I beat this game back in the day. If I remember correctly, at the end Tutakhamen’s eyes moved. The didn’t here. Anybody remembers that?
Maybe it was one of the ports that they did.
@MamePlayer I dunno. This seems hard enough as it is.
Did the game really just end like that when you completed it?

Dungeon Defender!
come posso scaricare tutankam per pc.grazie
What I don't get: why was it Game Over after the 4th level? Shouldn't it restart with higher difficulty? Was this something that MAME did?
Some of these games just had an end point. I was able to finish a game called Black Tiger back in the day. It took longer though, about an hour.
I'm Your Fuckin'Fan !!!
where can I play this game I really miss it.
MAME.
You can play all these classic games again with a Super Retro-cade system.
