This is got to be the most beautiful post hardcore song ever i got chills.
The title of this song has me thinking about the great metaphor of the "silver cord" - which is an expression of the thread of consciousness that connects the soul to the physical body. When the spirit leaves the body upon death, this cord is said to be stretched out until it eventually disconnects, ultimately transitioning the soul from ever reconnecting to the body again; the point of no return from death.

how can Anthony Green make his voice sound so strained yet so melodic at the same time?!
I remember hearing somewhere that he has an underdeveloped larynx, so he has significantly shorter vocal chords than most people do. But he also has stupid good lung capacity and excellent control of his voice. So where many people have to work hard early on to train themselves not to strain and constrict their throat to push into and maintain power in their voice in the upper registers, either screaming or singing, Anthony kind of naturally had that ability.

I'm pretty sure Anthony sings(screams) the ( .. .. .. ) parts. It sounds like Beau maybe sings harmony on the chorus, but it's pretty far back in the mix so I'm not 100% sure there.

Saosin comes back to save emo, and post-hardcore.
I think what really interests me with Tony's screams is that he doesn't seem to scream like, say, a metalcore vocalist. he just vocal belts really fucking hard. I've see vocalists do that before that fucked up their voices from doing it improperly, so Tony perfecting it is impressive as all fuck.

If there is another benefit concert or anniversary tour in the future, Anthony Green should be considered, first for a jam session and see how it goes.
He has splendid vocal technique, vocal range, a very particular voice, incredible talent, stage presence and charisma.

I don't expect him to stay... circa has a much larger following and it's his band. my thought is he wanted to do something a little harsher compared to circa. I mean the last circa cd was the heaviest yet but if he pushed it anymore it would have put off a large amount of fans.

+MrCaseHarts If you say so.. only cd worth a play is the ep with anthony and I own every saosin cd. before this cd the band was unstable and fighting to be relevant. it's just my opinion I normally don't follow this genre of music I tend to play metalcore and up so I could be extremely wrong but as a fan from the outside this is what I see.
