- Peter Alessandria is an award-winning photographer, filmmaker, author, TEDx Speaker and former entertainment attorney based in the New York City area. Completely self-taught as a creative person, he’s won more than 75 awards for his photography and in 2021 published his personal empowerment book, “Be Bigger Than You Think You Are: Overcoming Our Self-Imposed Limits to Have the Life We Want.” Peter recently turned his passions to filmmaking full-time and is producing several spiritually-themed movies, including a documentary entitled, “What Every Soul Knows: The Joy of Remembering Who We Really Are.” In it, he interviews more than 50 thought-leaders in the areas of near-death experiences, mediumship, channeling and psychic phenomenon.

I asked these questions from my heart when I was 16….almost made myself go crazy trying to pry the answers out of the ether. Then at 19 I had a spontaneous OBE that took me to the void and I got to experience true unconditional love. I’m 50 now, and it wasn’t until I started watching this type of content a couple years ago, that I realized how many others have experienced the similar things. It’s beautiful to see the expansion of consciousness on such a massive scale!

Hi Heather, I made it. I need to see Peter's documentary as I know it will clarify things for me. I still find it hard to grasp that souls choose a certain life on earth. However, I learned from Peter that in the spirit realm the soul wants to experience the physicality of a certain experience as that cannot be done in the spirit realm. Bring on part 2. Thank you for this interview, Heather. You have a great perspective, Peter. Having hardships are for soul progression. We all play a role in eachothers lives, heroes, and villains. Down to the homeless person you can give money, food or shelter to, which provides us a chance to look out for one another and I have compassion for the "Karens" of the world because their role is to help us realise how NOT to act in public and how to treat others. Someone has to play them parts. It is hard for some to understand because they have hurt feelings and/or bruised egos and that gets in the way of understanding the bigger picture. But they will understand when they go back home and realise that earth is just a stage for our soul's growth and that we will all play a different role in the next life. Some people cannot forgive the perpetrators but they would still love their favourite actor regardless of that actor playing the villian? 😅 There is a Lady on NDEShorts that saw her a***ive father in soul form on the other side, he agreed to help carry out these hardship in absolute tears but because that soul loved her so much and she wanted to experience that...they made the agreement. Earth life is complex but needed because we cannot experience things over there like we can on this side. People shouldn't get stuck in the victim mentality of this is a soul trap because they don't like how things are. Things happen for us, not to us.... anyways 😅 Looking forward to your movie. Hopefully, society and the world are still intact when the time comes around to see it. Bring on part 2 😊 Love and Light to you both and everyone reading this 🩵

Not having an answer to this I think should mean that both options should be explored.
I have discussed this with Near Death Experiencers before. It is a hard concept to wrap our limited brains around. Are things planned and if so how much free will do we have?

Instill dont understand why we come here,,,they say to grow....but in heaven i do not need to grow heaven is perfect,,,,,please explain,,,
One way to look at it is if your child grows up in your household never having to want for anything, never being challenged, never venturing out on their own in their entire life. They stay there with you and they are happy and content but have to life experience outside of the comfort and safety of home.
If they move out they come into their own by experiences and challenges. They get to know who they are much more profoundly.
When you are 100% love and joy , I would imagine to a certain degree it is taken for granted so to speak. And we may not fully understand how absolutely great it is, unless we have experienced it’s opposite. Then we fully know how wonderful and amazing it truly is.
I am looking forward to spring 2025! And spring 2026 actually. The new knowledge is coming.

I am really interested to see Part 2. The one thing I struggle with is why our soul would choose to come here and go through what happens here. Especially someone like the Russian President Putin who is responsible for the death of many people and the destruction of God’s creation. How could a soul choose to become such an evil instrument? I hope Peter can explain this.
I also find this hard to comprehend.
Steve and Lara I talk about that with Peter in his episodes and I also with an upcoming guest, Scott. They both help to clarify this question that so many have.
