so kind of a shorter more explicitly dramatic version of her relationship with Finn - don't tell me he never did horrible things out of concern for his reputation.
I really despise and don't like Rachel with passion, but for once she actually deserved a solo. My Man was a really good cover. For once I hear her sing with emotion. She always gives emotional faces, but her voice is never emotional (excluding Make You Feel My Love). Santana was really good too with emotions.
While I personally preferred Rachel's solo in this PARTICULAR situation (say what you want about her, but My Man is freaking incredible), Santana & Mercedes are both more talented performers all around, and they'd both be more suited for a Nationals solo because of that. Rachel can sing, but she can't dance for shit. Both Santana and Mercedes ooze stage presence, but I don't know if I'd say the same for Rachel.

i wont lie i think mercedes had the best vocals of them all kurt actually gave some choreo and vocals but i think that song wasnt his best overall rachel is obviously good but imo i think mercedes out sang her here and santana really ate that song but it didnt really give that umph that the other had but it was a good performance
Rachel is right as usual, jessy nose exactly what he’s talking about and Rachel is the clear choice to lead ND to victory because she has the most experience and is clearly the most talented.

Amber Riley is the best singer on the show. Now, her character is lazy af as shown several times because she thinks she will succeed always without rehearsing because "she is the best". Will made the wrong choice by doing a duet. A solo by Rachel was the best choice and Will should've listen to Jesse. Amber > Lea , Rachel > Mercedes (on a singing competition that requires rehearsing your butt off).

If they had continuously put in the time and effort only to not get them then I understand being upset, but we’ve seen they haven’t. They just always complained about Rachel getting all the solos, yet whenever there was a new assignment, they never ran up to sing with a song prepared right away. I’m sure if they wanted to preform a solo for an assignment too, they could’ve. I wouldn’t say they gave their all, because they definitely didn’t and they never worked as hard as Rachel. And Mercedes is an amazing singer, but she’s not clearly the best. I’d say it’s close between her and Rachel who’s the best- in terms of technique, vocal control, and range, I’d say Rachel because she can do more with her voice, but honestly you can’t really compare them. They’re both incredible, and they have such different singing styles. Rachel’s voice is made for Broadway, while Mercedes is better suited for soulful, pop, and R&B. Like I can’t imagine Mercedes singing don’t rain on my parade, and I can’t imagine Rachel singing gold digger. I do agree that Mercedes did deserve more credit though, and that was acknowledged when they didn’t have her during nationals and were all freaking out. And I don’t think Rachel should’ve gotten all the solos- that’s not fair to anyone else. But I think her getting more than them is justified. Not as many as she did, but she did deserve the most. And again, during the lessons in class, they could’ve come up and sang too, they just didn’t as much.
