I love how he becomes a vampire, finds an abandoned castle, and immediately embraces it.
im pretty sure thats not the castle (which he moved into while human in dead mom) That appeared to be a church
That is a Brazilian phrase that resume this, it translates to something like " what is a little fart for someone who already shiten themselves "
In episode 4 we see that this isn't his castle, it's the church where his vampire buddies reside.
So he walked in on them on accident, got bitten, presumably ran away, then turned into a vampire and decided "cool, now I get someone to hang out with".

There's something inherently depressing about how Duke basically just died in an allyway all by himself.
Poor kid didn't deserve that, even if he did seem ecstatic to become a member of the undead.
There's an argument since he was turned before hitting that alley. That he was already dead. His body just caught up with that taint.
Something I realized after a couple views: Duke, a teenager, died a slow, painful death utterly alone; feeling his life slowly slipping away with each heartbeat. No one he could call, no one coming to his rescue; all he could do is slump along a wall in some dark, dingy, back alley and feel himself slip the mortal coil...
Yeah, my heart just broke.
@@pegmay7209Sadly his last thoughts before turning were probably of his father and mother; they may not have had the best relationship, but when one is dying they instinctively crave the comfort of a parent especially if they are as young as Duke is implied to be. As the sounds and colors grew muted, he might think that he never got a chance to reconcile with his father, and worse that his father was right; a vampire essentially ripped his throat out and his father hunted them...
Somewhat averted since he became a vampire almost immediately after which would have been the more pressing issue, and he later revels in his new identity.
There are worse things one could endure.

Vampire 2: "We can't let this slide anymore. We must strike back against him."

Vampire 2: "I've heard recently from one of my thralls. He has a son."

@@thatmoviegirl3814 Not confirmed, no, but it's heavily implied in 'Dead Mom" that Dukes mother was killed by a vampire and after that his dad became obsessed with hunting them down.

Voltaire has range in his songs and albums and I love that! One song makes you wanna stand up and start dancing like a maniac with a smile on your face, living the moment you know and the next one makes you wanna lay down in a fetal position and cry and I freaking love that! Can't wait for the epeisode!!!!

Sometimes I feel like I've been turned into a monster just like Duke! I know he has a very complicated life especially ever since his mom died because my mother died this year! Missi on the other hand she had family issues too because her mother never wanted her to have a cat in her family! And Duke and Missi are a good couple and I identify with both of them! When I was a teenager I was never into vampires until then when I've heard of the story of Petit vampire ever heard of that? He was a little vampire but he was kind of cute for a kids Vampire! He even has a friend Michel a ten-year-old boy who was an orphan! And I don't blame Little Vampire for wanting a friend he's just like Casper only Casper is a friendly Ghost and you know what Little Vampire is! And I have a feeling that he never wanted to bite anybody because just because he's a vampire doesn't mean he bites people or sucks blood he only likes being friendly! And sometimes I wish I could cuddle with him! Also he had a mother who is also a vampire Pandora! My mother may be dead but sometimes I wish I can make a painting on mother's Day to send by her grave! Unfortunately for me she didn't go to a graveyard she was turned to dust and sent by the beach! And my older sister and I began to cry and we had to say goodbye to your mother forever! Sometimes I wish I had a friend who was also into vampires no matter how disturbing it is! 😿😿😿😿😿😿😿😢😢😢😢😢😭😭

One thing I've noticed is that Duke's transformation looks notably much more painful than Missi's did. Interesting.

For anyone wondering, I'm pretty sure the vampire at the end of the animation is Artemis from Missmi's Threnody series. :) please check it out! She's in desperate need of funds to keep the series going; it's in the same universe as Duke and Missi and features Duke's cane origins!!
The Artemis from Missmi's series is a different interpretation to the one who's gonna be in Vampair: they're no longer connected, sorry XP

Wow, is very interesting and melancholic to see Duke transforming into a vampire, the way he is walking under the night sky and how his blood vessels "took over" his body, amazing, great job Daria
And so we have seen how Duke began his afterlife. This animated video was fantastic!
Huh. So he was bitten by that blond vampire. Then thrown out of the building and left alone? Did the other vampires expected him to die instead of changing? This left me with question.
And it seem the blond vampire will play a part in the next episode. I'm salivating as I wait.

I love how his whole body contorts as he transforms into a vampire.
The symptoms of the transformation are:
1-Brainwashing.
2-bones cracking and shifpting.
3-muscles throbing and growing.
4-brain on fire.
5-heart beating so fast.
6-teeth grow sharp.
7-eyes glowing red.
Wonder if this will be how a fledgling Duke got his stick and his swagger. Also, negative points for his sire for letting him wander off like that.
I think it’s poignant that the whole song wasn’t done. If you go further, the lyrics say,”But I don’t want to leave behind the sweetly fragrant mist of life.” Duke at this point, didn’t care about living. Why would he? His mom is dead, his dad neglected him and his only friend abandoned him for the jocks who bullied him in high school. He would rather take a moment of pain and be undead than feel nothing at all, but live a life that was killing him. Daria, why do you do this to us?
Now we can see how Duke became a vampire. That’s what differentiates him from Missi. Missi has the option to go back to being human by getting rid of the cane. I wonder if Missi will end up taking the plunge and be bitten. 🤔
Love Duke’s transition from mortal to vampire. So well done!
Duke really had a glow up, or a darken down I guess. Love how he goes from lanky mortal to sharp edged creature of the night.
My heart broke when I saw Duke - this clearly wasn’t his idea and considering he’s alone I think someone betrayed his trust. I can’t imagine being hurt and alone like that, then suddenly realize you’re dying.
I am screaming. Slid in just in time for the live drop and the story hints are giving me such a buzz.

The very moment our drastic Duke turned into a vampire, after that Lestat looking guy took him down in "Raised by Bats". What a thing to witness. Thank you, Daria. I look forward to the 13th, and not just because I love black cats and despite being spiritual, I am not superstitious. It's my parents' anniversary that day, and after I get home from an important medical appointment, I have an animation from you to look forward to.

Anyway, that animation was eerily beautiful and the way you animated Duke's transformation was great, and accurate cuz it is true when a human transforms/turns, it's usually painful.
