Laacer, cheetahs don't make snarling leopard sounds when angry. When angry, they hiss. Cheetahs also can't roar due to their larynx having a fixed structure in their throat, rather than a flexible one. All they do is chirp, purr, yowl, and hiss.😊
@@timbertherian99yeah but snow leopards can’t roar either and are considered big cats So I think they’re both allowed to be classified as big cats because of their size
I hope it'll be a better experience than animalia at least, it seems like it'll be a while before it's in a more polished state but it's already looking promising. I just hope they take their time and be patient so that they don't release it in a state that'll make everyone cast judgement and leave.
I also thought about this game but it seemed to be VERY early stage. your video somehow supports that 🤔 I guess, I will wait a year or two before I really give it a try. too many of those already popped up, showed huge ambitions, but totally underestimated the core of these games. the code for a PVP server which shall support at least 100 players. this is what separates the sheep from the goats and in my opinion this was also the reason why animalia failed that badly 😕 thx for the video ♥ edit: don't get me wrong, I hope they will succeed and would love such a game. I am just a little skeptical 😉
@@da.mombie this why I do these first look-videos so people can see if they want to check it out themselves or wait out for the release when I usually do my review 😁 I had some hopes back in the day for Animalia, but sadly those hopes were crushed 🥹
@@Laacer that's awesome and you helped me to make a decision 😃I also have an eye on "the wild". did you ever play that? looks more promising than primal earth imo
I would absolutely love it if this became a fully realized game. It doesn’t even have to be perfect, just would like it to be something one could enjoy playing solo. A half enjoyable game where one can play as a slightly immersive solo animal and not have a purely frustrating time. When that arrives, take my money and take it now!
Give it some time just needs polish. The underwater view is definitely one of the best/most realistic I’ve seen. Same could be said for the animals especially the big cats which are often poorly represented in most games. Just needs to get the dimorphism right and here’s hoping we get some rare giants like big tuskers
I see the same recurring issues as with Animalia. Comes from lack of information on the animals. - Sexual dimorphism wrong in some of them. (Eg.: Giraffe and buffalo bulls/cows have differently shaped horns. Female horns are thinner, less robust. Female giraffe horns are tufted, female buffalo horns dont have that dome on their head.) - Hippo runs like it is a horse (would break its legs quickly irl) and has a frekkin stomp. Again, it would just break its legs and would not even be able to lift itself up like that. - Warthog model is not a warthog model btw. - They have animals sharing the same lifestyle, which means one of these animals is a waste of funding. What would be the difference between the impala and springbok? - I am unsure what they want to do with all these attack types per animal. Will some be more powerful? Will they use stamina? I am afraid they would be just confusing in the end. - Cheetahs do NOT snarl like that when threatened. They 'spit' like a cat when they slam their paws down. They do NOT arch their backs either. - Lion attack sound is actually tiger sound to make it sound more powerful. Last 2 attacks seem to be lion. - Horse sound for zebra is ouch. Despite all this, I wonder where they will be taking this. They already said they will not be as realistic. They will not put in anything that prevents the cooperation between herbivores and carnivores either. Grappling will be very prominent, which worries me, since it kinda favors the carnivore. I worry about the difference between carnivore stamina as well. How they will implement the different lifestyles and hunting methods. Will there be even a difference between animals? Or will they all play the same, save for stats? Their models are the same as Animalia, mostly. They have better texture and lighting, the camera is closer, so the detail of the animal is in focus. Which I like. At this moment, I just see the problems. Hence why I dont play it. Yet. But I am intrigued and will keep a close eye on this game. Animalia is toast. The devs gave up from what I can tell (last big but bugged update in spring). So this game will take its place, unless the devs put on their big boy pants. It is very far from the other game, though. Very far for a game in development for like 3 years, which tells me one major worrying thing. They clearly fall in the same pit as Animalia had. They are focusing on bringing in as many animals as they can, as barebones as they can get away with. Possibly with minimal balancing. They should really take a page from Evrima's book. Start with fewer smaller animals and build up the ecosystem from the bottom up, while focusing less on new animals and more on gameplay features. Make sure your playerbase gets used to and likes playing the little, weaker guys too. Before thinking of apexes. The devs also must learn from Animalia's issue with lions. Everyone and their grandma will play lion when it comes out. The ecosystem will be a mess and it should not be solved by having more AI animals either. Put a limit on apex carnivores per server, please. My two cents at the moment. I am worried but curious.
You raised many good points as always Lance! I'm worried as well, this was just first look so I tried not to be too harsh as it is still on early access, but if it's pretty same when it comes out, you know I will be very very harsh with my critique. We'll see if it's as bad flop as Animalia.
I see the discussions you meant on steam and it's mostly people asking why it hasn't come out already? That why devs should never give ETA's unless they are 100% sure they can keep that promise. What I saw in early access is very bare bones but it's only early access so it doesn't really tell how far they are behind the scenes with the game. I doubt it will come out this year though.
Lets hope this is better than animalia. That noise the buffalo made i think he.s been holding that in for a while.

Wont be difficult to be better than Animalia

To add onto this, Cheetahs are also not classified as "big cats" bc of the larynx. They're technically large wild cats.
