I’m surprised this mod only got 15 minutes of fame. It’s my favorite mod in Teardown, especially in tandem with the ‘No Fire Limit’ mod which truly allows you to play out your Smaug-vs-Laketown fantasies. Also some tips for others with the mod that are confused: In regular Teardown, you have access to upgrade canisters (the green and grey things) for fuel, rockets, miniguns, fire breath, and rocket boosters. The fuel upgrade canisters have the propane tank inside of them, rocket canisters have a white-and-red rocket, the minigun is a two-tone gray cylinder with hints of orange, the flamethrower canister has a depiction of a fire, and the thrusters have a similar color scheme to the miniguns, but the item looks more like a jetpack. I wouldn’t recommend keeping the rockets around when you upgrade them a lot, since the increased fire rate leads to premature explosions. In contrast, upgrading the miniguns seems to give them an unparalleled destructive radius, while upgrading the flamethrower seems to increase the ‘pellet’ count while maintaining the same density, meaning a wider radius of fire damage. When you go to the lab, you install the canisters by hooking up Draggles, then selecting your moves via a computer terminal. This is also where you check to see what level your moves are at, which may or may not have different effects depending on the move in question. Moves like Rockets and Hyper Beam get an amped up fire rate (the latter saving up on charge time and fuel consumed too), while moves like Fire Breath and Minigun have an increased damage radius with no effect to fire rate. Also in the lab are two teleporter-looking machines, one with a sledgehammer above, and one with what looks like a robot. Going to the robot one insinuates that you’re in a different dimension where you actually have to fight robots and blow up their factories, but in my experience, it’s no different from regular Teardown except for the drops. The upgrade canisters now include grenade launchers, hyper beam(!), health, self-repair, and better fuel regeneration. Grenade Launcher canisters have the nitroglycerine item, Hyper Beam’s canisters are similar to Fire Breath’s but pink, the health canisters have a classic heart shape in red, self-repair contains a typical repair thingy in white and red, and the fuel regen canisters have a propane tank hooked to… something. Of the two moves you can get for Draggles in this supposed other dimension, Hyper Beam is easily my favorite. While at first, it takes a comically long amount of time to charge up and costs a lot of fuel, once the upgrades start rolling in, it becomes almost comically powerful. Any mission featuring security robots in an open setting becomes a breeze with Hyper Beam, since even though you still can’t kill the robots outright, you can continuously ragdoll them into the ocean. Hyper Beam has some surprising utility to it too, since anything non-explosive can be ragdolled by continuous Hyper Beam strikes, meaning not only can you yeet the robots into the ocean, you can even transport non-stowable objective items this way, which is how I completed the Christmas Evertides Mall mission. I flattened the mall (lmao), yeeted the robots, and caressed the christmas decorations to the van. Of course, there are issues. As of 1.6.0, while Draggles thankfully isn’t completely broken, you still get the constant thudding of the sledgehammer whenever you hold down for one of Draggles’ attacks, and it may/may not be contributing to some weird flight posture where you end up outside of Draggles. Besides that, Draggles works much the same as it did pre-1.6.0. As for my personal moves and why I use them, it goes as follows: Up: Fire Breath (It’s a dragon, and one based on the European design at that. Of freakin’ course I’m having it breathe fire! That aside, this is what I use for destruction when performance is also of concern. Sure, it takes longer to destroy buildings, but performance doesn’t suffer as much as with, say, miniguns. If you want to main this like I do, I also highly recommend the ‘No Fire Limit’ mod, to prevent burning buildings from randomly extinguishing themselves. Regardless though, some tips on Fire Breath in context to building destruction: only tap M1 in close proximity to a building if you want a guarantee to set it on fire, hold M1 if you’re impatient and want to get an item that’s housed in a flammable building.) Left: Hyper Beam (I’ve only heard the name “Hyper Beam” in a video game in one other context, and considering the mod author’s Steam name, it’s likely not a coincidence. The best move to use in the Mayhem challenge mode due to its propensity to penetrate through buildings and shove bits and pieces aside, alongside the fact the upgraded version has a nigh-negligible charge time and an impressive fire rate. Also my move of choice when it comes to bullying security robots and moving non-explodable heavy stuff.) Right: Minigun(s) (In comparison to Hyper Beam, what these lack in penetration and ragdoll ability, they make up for with a surprising amount of AoE and a lack of ability to start fires (only a benefit in context to campaign mode tho).) Bottom: Hydraulic Jaw (My fallback move for regenerating health and/or fuel, but with the comical amount of health and fuel upgrades I’ve gathered, they shouldn’t be an issue. Also a good performance-friendly way to get Draggles’ head unstuck from something.) P.S. if the mod author’s somehow reading this, it’d be nice to change Draggles’ color scheme, like to match the dragon on the HUD for instance.
