Yay, finally we've got a review of this phone in English. I've been waiting for this for two weeks and it seems like you're the first one who had done it. Thank you a lot for this video, mate. Great job. Right now I'm choosing between this bad boy and Meizu 16 - to my understanding the former is worse in almost every aspect except for the size of the bezels and the battery size, which are important to me, as well as audio quality, decent camera with optical stabilization and overall looks, and those are the 16's pros to me. It would be great if you could show us how the software image stabilization performs in video mode and also if you could say if it's back is made from glass or polycarbonate for sure - plastic is a big no-no for me, especially in comparison to 16's metal with ceramic coating. Thank you one more time for your job, looks like you've got yourself a new subscriber.
Thanks man! I don't know much about the Meizu 16, I've reviewed the 16s and now I have the 16Xs....I really like the 16s more (at this point) but it does cost a bit more. As for the back, they say it is glass but it feels like polycarbonate...if it is glass, it's not the same glass found on a Samsung Galaxy S10+ or iPhone XS Max (both I have) So it may be a thinner less expensive glass... That's not to say it's cheap, it feels nice and feels durable enough, but it certainly doesn't feel like a flagship glass material. I'll try and get some video samples up next week, Meizu has only given me 2 weeks with the phone so I have a lot of ground to cover. Samsung usually gives me 6-8 weeks but not Meizu, they want reviews done quickly...for whatever reason. Thanks for subscribing.
@@Techaeris The pleasure is mine. I'll be waiting for the full review. And thank you for replying, it's awesome that you're ready to communicate with viewers and answer our questions. Keep up the good work, mate👍 Hope that you'll get yourself more popular soon enough - you deserve that for sure.
@@juanblanco7898 I am trying to do my best to communicate with everyone. It's not terribly difficult at the moment since my subscriber count is low, but I'm sure it will become more difficult as the channel grows. I appreciate you, thanks!
Only if you actually currently use those features; don't pay a bunch of money just because you might use something. So if you regularly shoot video - YES, the complete lack of stabilisation makes the video from the 16Xs super ugly. If you're some typical young adult or adult whose kids are too old to be a source of home videos for yourself then nah you wouldn't need OIS.
Thank you so much for comparing 16s with 16xs. I hope you will also do a full review once they updated and released the FlyMe 8 next month e.g video stabilization, camera comparisons :) Only Meizu cares about symmetry in phone design that's why I'm a fan of their design. Hope their OS will be better on their next release.
Does this phone have notification LED in its tiny bezel somewhere? How bright is the LED? Can anyone post a photo or video of the LED glowing in action? If not, does it have Always on Display that works for all third party apps?
Hello, Thinking of getting the Meizu 16Xs in Canada though. How's the battery at 4000 mah and 6.2 AMOLED? And I believe it has NFC so I can tap and pay with my mobile wallet? How's the performance and the 6gb of ram holding onto apps? The Flyme OS is getting better but how is it versus Samsung S10e? Is it water and dust resistant at all? Thanks,
I've only had it for a few days but the battery is holding up well. The Meizu 16s did a great job on battery too....I reviewed that here techaeris.com/2019/05/25/meizu-16s-review-an-outstanding-alternative-to-the-thousand-dollar-flagship-phone/ but keep in mind. I plug my phones every night but the battery has been at around 50%...so I suspect it could easily go for a day and a half maybe more...depending on your use, that's a big factor. It does not have NFC nor is it dust or water resistant, remember, this is a $245 phone so there are a lot of things omitted. As for performance, it's handling daily tasks just fine so far thanks to that 6GB of RAM...haven't tried gaming on it yet. Flyme OS is fine, not my favorite but looks better than it has in the past. I can't say how it compares to the S10e as I have not tried that device yet.
They do have a global version...as a matter of fact...this phone probably works better outside of the U.S. It works okay on some networks here but not all.
Techaeris i am planning to buy the phone , unlike most , which can be imei-repaired because i have to pay an amount of money to register officialy in my country , turkey thanks for the video and answering
@@Techaeris Greetings. So global version is already available? I couldn't find it on Aliexpress or in local stores. Do you have any info on global release? Thank you.

Other smartphone manufacturers should adopt this design, its so simple and sophisticated

I like that 16XS is thicker and lighter than 16s. Should make it more comfortable to hold.
Thanks for the review. Do you think the stereo speakers/OIS alone are worth the ugrade to the 16s?

Hey guy a question: is a UFS 2.1 or Emmc 5.1 ?
UFS 2.1 😆

@@Techaeris Thank you man. I might get this and a case which holds my debit and credit card to emulate nfc I guess at terminals.
😭😞
@@BigdisplacementI6 Best of luck!
thanks for u video 👍🏻
Is it super amoled
Any idea what glass the screen is? Gorilla 6 would be nice but I'm guessing it's 5 or worse.
It just claims Gorilla Glass but gives no version. 😂
Is that the global version?
I think so, but it has limited connectivity in the US...some LTE bands don't work.
Does this phone get any software updates?
Yes it does, usually security updates, not certain about full Android updates.
is it with global version?
