These days, it's better. Have you heard Ian sing in the past 20 years? Having seen them both fairly recently and going to see Martin again next month, I can attest that I enjoy Martin's live shows better now than those done by Ian/Tull.
What they heck is wrong with you guys lol. That guy is as close to Ian as it gets. Christ there is tribute bands much more in the baritone nature of Ian's voice pre 84
Martin's sister, so we had heard, used to run The Pickwick Inn in S. Devon, circa 1968...early 70s, so me and my mates, all right-on Tull freaks used to go down there drinking every weekend, hoping to get a look at "that bloke from Jethro Tull"...never saw him there but we had some great piss-ups! Saw Tull many times since and met Martin as well. He's a real guitarist's guitarist. Never sat back and rested on his laurels, and, just like my other favourite player, Jeff Beck, never stopped improving. Martin Lancelot Barre...long may you run!
I was at the show! Totally awesome! Been a JT fan since the first album. So cool to sit so close to one of my favorite guitarists! And I get to see this again Friday, 10/12/18!
Glad to see him still making great music, and enjoying life. I love the Jethro Tull band. ( especially he, Ian Anderson and Barriemore Barlow ) oNe LovE from NYC
Thanks. This is excellent. I saw The Doors in Phoenix Arizona a few years ago, not long before Ray died. It was just Ray and Robbie. I missed them with Jim and John at Dinner Key in Miami many years ago. It's a shame that they didn't have a singer that sounded like Jim on their tour. GREAT Vocals on this video. I saw Tull in Miami, around 1971 I think it was. Always been a fan.
First to comment. Martin's playing with a great bunch of guys here but I love the flute solo Ian does in the middle of this song. That's not gonna change but this is good. Cheers!
Oh man I wish I has known about this show. I think Martin's guitar solo on Aqualung that I saw performed live back in the 80's in Glens Falls was one of the greatest musical experiences of my life. Certainly Martin is one of, if not my favorite rock guitarist of all time and Jethro Tull is my all-time favorite band. This Martin Barre Band is great, too. How'd I miss this?
It becomes evident (like a brick falling on your foot) why Martin Turner had Barre play on his solo album. I would love to hear Barre jam with Wishbone Ash.
It took a little bit of teasing at the beginning; but, they srarted to crankit up and wrecked it quite silly. These boys are fantastic. No way to slow down.
This is quite a treat. What a great rendition on this rock and roll classic. Nice job by the lead vocalist. Looks - and sounds - like he could be Ian's son.
I’ve seen two separate interviews with him recently and in both he spoke on the fact that, if he didn’t have his solo nailed in 1 or maybe 2 takes, then his guitar solo turned into a flute solo.
Saw this guy with Tull years ago. I was right in front of the stage. I recall his setup was kind of austere, just a Les Paul straight into a couple Marshall stacks. It was loud and intense.
Barre a puro rock el espíritu que puso en JT. La mejor conjuncion Barre el rock y Anderson la musica Celta es la característica de JT. La música que conocemos todos fue la Unión musical y poética de todis sus musicos sobresaliendo Barre y Anderson.
Wasn't too sure about Dan Crisp when I first head him, but man, he cracks it out perfectly. I'd see this band in a heartbeat, but id never pay to see Ian's band again. The studio albums will suffice in that respect.
He's been playing that song for 50 years, and he sounds just as crisp as the first time. Long live Martin !!
Better
Martin is a great as ever and the rest of the band is EXCELLENT! The singer has got it going on, talent-wise AND charisma!
Martin is one of the most underrated players ever
You couldn’t be more right. Martin is thee most underrated lead guitarist of all time
What a great group, all of them.
Martin picked a great group. The drummer is quite exceptional.
Johnathan Joseph. A very bad man.
Did I see the drummer with Jeff Beck?
Vocalist is as close to Anderson as it gets.excellent cover. Loved it

And he is playing harmonies as he sings
Yes he is used to love this life when I went to see Jethro Tull
What they heck is wrong with you guys lol. That guy is as close to Ian as it gets. Christ there is tribute bands much more in the baritone nature of Ian's voice pre 84
the stage animation and presense of Ian will be very, very hard to cover
One of the greatest songs ever! I can remember how thrilled I was hearing it for the first time 50 years ago. It stil excites me.
Dang! That was great! Martin still has the goods and the band is tight! The lead singer nailed it.
Wow. I’m so glad I found this the great Martin Barre. The twin guitar reminded me of Wishbone Ash.
Thank you Martin for your genius ...your sound was an integral part of Tull...rock on!
Yeah he's great. As much a part of the Tull sound as Anderson.
Rocks!! Thanks for this extremely awesome video. I appreciate. Martin Barre is Legendary, imo. Thanks, again.

Martin is not underrated by us. But he is by too many. Anyway that is there problem and not ours. Life is a long song right!Thank you Martin Barre⚡️
My God , I love this tune. Rockin' it old school, 1971,72,73. Song still has the drama. Scuse me, I gotta go beat up my guitar.
Barre sounded excellent, as usual! The singer sounds spot on like Ian Anderson, holy cow!
A nice take on the classic song. Happy 75th birthday, Martin!
I'm like no Jones no Stones, but not here. Sure something else but very very good , Ty Martin!!
The Great Mr Barre! Wonderful
Loved the twin guitars, really enjoyed this fresh version of an old classic!
Daw them in Portland maine. FANTASTIC Thanks Martin for carrying the torch
If the kids today really want to learn all they need to know about guitar playing, this is the only one you need to study.
Tight as Tull, Martin. Thanks man.
Good stuff from Martin and the boys, he looks like he’s having a great time…………Good one Martin!👍

My God that sounded great - I can only imagine how it must have sounded live!
Exceptional! Thank you Mr barre

EXCELLENT!!!! I would like to see more of this band. Very close to the real deal.
Great job guys

Amazing. And man what a guitarist
That is just amazing mr Barr very underrated Tull we’re massive Ian was a genius and Not enough given to Martin Wow
I was sick as a dog and couldn't make this show. A thousand blessings for posting.
It becomes evident (like a brick falling on your foot) why Martin Turner had Barre play on his solo album. I would love to hear Barre jam with Wishbone Ash.
Wow, awesome... Great line-up, Martin is amazing and the singer crushes it, plus they both do those guitar harmonies....
That was phenomenal.
Hes guitar playing is still excellent.
3:30 Simply one of the greatest. And better than ever.
This is lovely...thanks Martin...b

It took a little bit of teasing at the beginning; but, they srarted to crankit up and wrecked it quite silly. These boys are fantastic. No way to slow down.
That's just nice. Brilliant.

Wicked stuff
Singer crushed it! Awsome to see the guitar players version hahahhah
Hell yeah!!!! Martin's smokin' it!
What would we do without Darryl’s house and all the great musicians?
Wow, if this illustrates anything, it's how much Martin's guitar work in JT was overlooked by Ian's presence.
I’ve seen two separate interviews with him recently and in both he spoke on the fact that, if he didn’t have his solo nailed in 1 or maybe 2 takes, then his guitar solo turned into a flute solo.
Magnificent majestic
Made me smile ear to ear! Awesome
Great arrangement - great energy!
Saw this guy with Tull years ago. I was right in front of the stage. I recall his setup was kind of austere, just a Les Paul straight into a couple Marshall stacks. It was loud and intense.
Nice piece of video.
Living just down the road.
This is way better than what Ian is doing with his own fake Jethro Tull band. Great job Martin!
wow! that was fantastic!
Barre a puro rock el espíritu que puso en JT. La mejor conjuncion Barre el rock y Anderson la musica Celta es la característica de JT. La música que conocemos todos fue la Unión musical y poética de todis sus musicos sobresaliendo Barre y Anderson.

Really tasty performance of this... although, the singer seems to be doing his best Ian impression (mannerisms and all).
How many want's to have back Martin in Jehtro Tull. I think there's a lot of us.
He’s fine where he is.🤘🏽
Excelente!!
Good stuff !!!!!
Wasn't too sure about Dan Crisp when I first head him, but man, he cracks it out perfectly. I'd see this band in a heartbeat, but id never pay to see Ian's band again. The studio albums will suffice in that respect.

Electrifying Version !..
Bad ass! \m/ \m/
Exellent, is there more of this gig available !?
Barre is a beast. The singer is a great young Anderson
I love Martin Barre but it just isn't the same without Ian's brilliance on vocals
👊
The real deal...
Dan Crisp is the vocalist.
oh!!!!!!! yes!
Instrumentally, Martin IS the sound of Jethro Tull!
Martin hasn’t aged a bit..!!!
Maybe his outer shell… but Martin hasn’t aged a bit..!!
Any more from this show?
Styx does a great cover of this
What an awesome performance! Please, what's the name of the bass player? Thanks
