Juan Escobedo Interview about his fellowship through California Creative Corps.

In 2023, Juan Escobedo received a one-year fellowship through Community Partners by CA Creative Corps - California Arts Council for Public and Community Health Awareness. The project is about a group of women who work as Promotoras (community health workers). Juan utilizes film, photos, and a theater piece to highlight their work on domestic violence, sexual assault, COVID-19, HIV prevention, and racism. The documentary film is titled Las Promotoras Against Violence and will be presented at various universities, high schools, community events and film festivals. When venues have the capacity, the presentation will be a combination of film screening, photo exhibit, and theater performance.
