Looks great! Here's a tip, it's probably not a good idea to be breathing in the smoke from melted polymer. Do this in the garage and blow a fan across to evacuate the smoke.
Wow... there are some seriously butt-hurt Glock-boy attitudes in the comments. This is definitely one of the better "at home" stippling jobs I've seen. Certainly the first I have seen where modder was smart enough to demarcate the borders with tape as a guide. Well done!
Wow, that's a great job man. I just shot mine for the first time, 150 rounds and that backstrap killed my hand. I didn't have fun shooting it at all so I will definitely be doing something with the gun. I was surprised it bothered me, I work in a power plant so I don't exactly have dainty sensitive hands. I'll probably just put a Talon grip on it.
Nice job.... my friend... i don’t know is that make you a better shooter or not but i’m sure it’s make you feel better, we are gun lover, we love to spend time with them, so guys keep it up, keep do what we love to do and share to everyone... God bless all of us....
I don't see how adding grip is a bad thing. Also if you shoot a polymer pistol a lot any texture will lose its bite. Also Earl knows how to shoot very well as he does it a lot... I wouldn't question the fact that he knows how to hold his piece. Earl did a great job for the tools he had available. He will likely shoot his P10 more than any of the people posting negatively or otherwise here.
Looks pretty good man. Question: Why sand the the spikes/nubs off? Wouldn't they just offer that much more grip? Is it not possible to stipple between them?
Hey question.. was your fde more complicated then ur black one stippling? You notice faster burning, more raise/ fall, ect? I’ve stippled black frames before but I’m getting ready to do my fde p10c and it’s the first colored frame that I will do. So just looking for anything that helps/ things to watch out from.. Thanks man
On my FDE I dremeled off the blocks but didn't sand the areas smooth, so the rough areas burned a lot quicker. I wish I'd have cut them off with a razor blade like the black one. It burned a lot quicker and left me with some discoloration. Not a big deal since FDE doesn't stay clean for me anyway but it won''t win any beauty contests.
Earl An ... ok gotcha . Yea I was going to steal your razor blade method and give it a shot . I imagine razor blade would work also on the Glock gen 4 nubs also?
Not if you grip it tightly enough. It only irritated my hands when it got wet/slick. It would slide under my hands like a wet bottle cap. Seems like every other class I take it rains hence the stippling.
Not really. I'm not stabbing into the polymer, just kind of tapping, and I don't leave it in one spot for very long. I probably should have wrapped a magazine with tape so it would have a tight fit in the magwell while doing the stippling. Prevents the grip from warping if you get an area too hot.. Also, I'm using a 25-watt wood burner. It gets hot enough to work quickly, but low power enough to keep me out of trouble.
SSVI uses a high speed dental drill and reverse cone dental burs. For kicks I tried a Dremel #108 engraving cutter with my Dremel Flex Shaft at high speed. I tried it on a spare backstrap and it turned out awful. It would take me years of practice to get even close to what the pros do.
Like twisting off a bottle cap, the factory grip is sharp but still slips if you don't hold it tightly, and there's no texture for the support hand. Stippling is just as secure with a more relaxed grip and the grip is more consistent when wet.
I personally don't like the way it came out, I've stippled 2 of my guns 1 including the P-10 in my opinion getting it professionally done for a little over 100.00 bucks is worth it. But I do give you props for having the Cojones to do it yourself, overall not a bad job.
sorry but that doesnt look good even for an at home job. ive done 3 glocks of mine and would say my 1st attempt was better than this. some people just arent that handy and id say you shouldnt have done this
grizzlyrunfast I'm sure you're Mr. Stippler of the year! Maybe you should post some pictures or a video of YOU actually doing a stipple job on a pistol. I think it turned out pretty nice. 😎

At first I was thinking "Dude's ruining his blaster.".. Then I was thinking "Holy crap, that came out awesome."
Damn that's the best I've seen so far good job! Thinking about doing my Glock tonight but thanks for the pointers 👍🏽

You did a good job stippling that CZ. I like it.

What's a birds head grip?
Excellent job. Now I just have to find a P10C.
That turned out nice!
Great job 👍..... the only thing I'd probably try to do is a solid border line instead of doting the outline
Impressive! Earl An if you wrote a book about the CZ P10c I would buy it in a New York Minute!
WOW! Excellent work! That came out NICE. I plan on picking up a P10, soon (currently carry a P01). If you start offering this service, let me know.
Trailer Ape I offer this service just in micro stippling for now go to my project Glock 17 and check it out let me know what you think
I think it came out nice. Good job
Looks pretty good man. Question: Why sand the the spikes/nubs off? Wouldn't they just offer that much more grip? Is it not possible to stipple between them?
It's easier with a relatively smooth surface to get a uniform texture. I didn't sand the nubs off my FDE one. The edges got discolored by the heat.
nice work. 👍
Looks good. I think I'll do mine.

CZ should offer a version with This type of grip. Will the factory grip Hurt someone with Small hands?
Not if you grip it tightly enough. It only irritated my hands when it got wet/slick. It would slide under my hands like a wet bottle cap. Seems like every other class I take it rains hence the stippling.
You can actually use a dremel to file off those nobs. It will give you a very flat and consistent surface.
I used a dremel on my FDE one. The nice thing about the razor method is it doesn't throw plastic dust everywhere.
Amazing
That’s a good job but I probably would of just got some Talon grips to save time. Good work tho looks good.
CZ's polymer is quite thin, at any point are you worried about punching through? Great video!

Do you know how to get those really deep cut hard lines on the boarders of the stipple job?
SSVI uses a high speed dental drill and reverse cone dental burs. For kicks I tried a Dremel #108 engraving cutter with my Dremel Flex Shaft at high speed. I tried it on a spare backstrap and it turned out awful. It would take me years of practice to get even close to what the pros do.

So,how does grip as compared to the factory one?

Wait, why didn't you just sand of the nubs???
Wouldnt that be easier?
oh nvm
WHY ???
sorry but that doesnt look good even for an at home job. ive done 3 glocks of mine and would say my 1st attempt was better than this. some people just arent that handy and id say you shouldnt have done this
Looks great to me, I say you're full of crap. Where's your video of you doing it?
Let's see your 3 glocks, id love to critique your work
