After lots of requests I've now opened a "Buy Me A Coffee" page buymeacoffee.com/countryhousegent (I wanted a "Buy Me A Pork Pie" page, but the option wasn't there 🙂) Many thanks to you all,
Amazing! I thought I was seeing things when I saw palm trees! These journeys are so different from your low milage narrowboat adventures! I'm still adjusting to the whole driving on the 'other side' from my American perspective! Scotland has been on my bucket list for decades now. I'll be much more prepared after viewing these posts for when I finally make the trip! Thank you for taking us along! Cheers!
Thanks Kevin, this is the best bike trip video ever mate, breath-taking views and as you said words are not needed. I hope that you are doing well. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Hi Kevin, trying to catch up with your video's mate after the devastating news when the doctor's said that my Dad would be ok, but he died the next morning. Beautiful scenery Kevin, . Thanks for your text. Take care X X X X
Brings back memories of family holidays sixty years ago.....the palm trees are NZ native, and are actually members of the Lilly family, incredibly tough, live everywhere from swamps to snow (in winter) covered hill sides, the leaves can kill a lawnmower in seconds....
Noooo! This vlog ended far too soon! I was just settling in with my Friday afternoon glass of wine, and it was over! If I may comment on your bike, it surely seems to ride smoothly, resulting in no jiggly, bumpy videos en route! Another first class travelogue, Kevin! We are so fortunate to have you! Cheers!
This series is exceeding expectations. 👏🏻👏🏻 Wasn’t sure how the camera views would translate on a motorcycle, but it’s really a great POV. Thanks for all your work on this.
Last episode I had to comment on your superb audio equipment. This episode, it's you're editing skills. They shine. From best I can tell you have at least three cameras. You're having to blend a trip's worth of video from three cameras along with your main audio. The results are seamless when you switch from one view to another. Bravo.
OMG, Kevin! Tears spontaneously welled up in my eyes at several points along the journey and at journey's end, I was transported to heaven on earth. Thank you for adding a description of the smell of the water to the breathtaking views. I am here with you. At peace. ❤
Flipping heck Kevin, I’m hooked on this now and I was only mooching about before going to series 9 on Aslan. What a quandary, I didn’t expect to be drawn in on this. Well and truly done, thank you Kevin. Best regards, Mike.
You make great telly Kevin and this series is no exception. Held my attention right from the start. Thanks v. much for all the work you put into your programs and series, we really appreciate it.
Yep, my jaw dropped and it’s still dropping😲! A mesmerizing ferry ride, phenomenal roads full of bend-happy bliss, and a ridiculously cool campsite…and it's just day 1!😄Thanks, Kevin!
Oh wow!! What a thoroughly enjoyable episode and indeed these first two adventures have been captivating to watch and now Fridays just cannot come soon enough for the next one. I am no expert, but appreciate that editing is not a 5 minute job whilst chomping on a meat pie. It just flows seamlessly from front to reverse camera making me feel like I am on the bike with you. Thank you so much Kevin.
Wow, lovely weather and an ideal camp site! Ah, the Coleman camp stove. I have a couple of those and a similar Tilley lamp. I should really organise a camp and get some more use out of them. Thanks for the video Kevin. Cheers! 👀👍
Kevin, My wife and I are planning a trip to Scotland soon, your motorcycle tour gives me inspiration. We travel much like you but on 4 wheels, and stay in hotels or Inn's. Motercycle toured much of the West coast USA through Canada and Alaska, where we live. I know what you're doing is a lot of work but the rewards are Immense; cheers!!
That's fantastic to hear that you're inspired to explore the same areas I'm going through. You won't be disappointed with any of the Scottish islands I'm encountering.
So glad you didn't give up on your dream. I remember when when you were kicking the thought around, COVID hit, and the whole world went sideways. You were ready to chuck the whole game, like so many of us. But you didn't. You persevered through some hard bits. Sometimes the dreams that get deferred, are the sweetest when they reach fruition. Continued safe travels. We will be watching from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, an ocean away!
You have some fine video of what you’ve done and seen so far. Thank you so much for each moment. It’s gorgeous! Interesting as well. See you next time from over here in Portland, Oregon.
Simply WOW. Such beautiful scenery. The videos are easy to watch, no vibration or shakiness and the views are fantastic. We can hear you perfectly as well. I'm enjoying your trip immensely. I have a question. Do you have a name for your bike? I suggest Asland, with a D. Looking forward to the next installment.
The contrast is breathtaking. The blues of the sky and waters the green of the landscape... Beautiful contry Kevin. Thank you for sharing Scotland with us. The fairy boat trip was lovely too. I can't wait to see what you share in #3.
lovely journey Kevin & thank you for allowing us to join in! What a deal @ the campsite & gorgeous scenery/perfect weather. Happy 🤠🐴 Trails to you from Seattle!
Spent a fair amount of time on Arran when I was in the RN, you got some lovely weather, we used to say that summer was around 22nd of May ! Great video, many thanks AJ
That was just great/ Hard to believe this is the same country and continent. Sublime. Incredible. Views to die for peace and quiet. I'm never gonna go there, wish I had but,. such is life, short and fleeting. Make the most of every minute. Next?
Kevin, this is a brilliant video. I can hear the joy in your voice. It's cool to see you so happy. You've really thought this trip out. All the camera angles are fab, well done on that front. I don't drive, so I've never really gone up and onto the islands. I'm luvjng it through you. Loving it. Rob
@@CountryHouseGent i have a bike, the engine consists of my wee legs. But, with so many (waaaaayyy to many) cars out on the roads these days, i simply use it for work.
Right turn Clyde 😂 Mr Eastwood thanks you for the shout out. You should have taken a lap or two in that motocross track where you pulled off to appreciate Ailsa Craig.
What a beautiful day! Ferry boats-a day in the life here in Seattle, WA. Always a beautiful ride to the San Juan and other islands here. Thanks for sharing be safe out there. -Cheers from Seattle!
YO KEVIN, As you said, "Words can not express." I'll try anyway, lol. The cloud formations as you sailed over on the ferry were spectacular! They looked so clean, thick, & extra puffy cumulus clouds ⛅️ The scenery makes me want to transport myself there right this moment! TY for all your efforts & time in allowing us to follow you along on your amazing journey ✨️ ❤️ Lori Oregon USA 🇺🇸
At 3:15 you described the view of “Lochranza” (?) it looked like Ardossan. All very entertaining though and looking forward to this adventure. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah I almost "ended" a motorcyclist once because I wasn't paying attention. It was TOO close if you know what I mean. Anyway, now I always do a double and triple look before I go. Cool series, Kevin. Glad to see you're enjoying your beautiful country (kingdom?) I sure am! Cheers!
Don’t wait ! Don’t dream . Do it . If you are able… Kevin and others have helped inspire us to start checking off places we wanted to go . We just finished a tour of Scotland (by car) inspired by Kevin
God, Arran is gorgeous! And such a perfect day for you. I have it say, your editing is very smooth, very professional. Must take a lot longer working from several angles like that. I do notice a lot more lingering shots of you on the bike than we'd see of you on Aslan. Sometimes it breaks up those incredible vistas, maybe trim those down a hair on future offerings? I know, I know, everyone is a critic, and opinions are like bum holes, lol 😂 Either way, absolutely loving these as much as the narrowboat episodes!
Well Kevin so far this is looking to be a great watch. The wife and I have long wanted to do a tour of Scotland and it's islands but because of family and work haven't been able to commit enough time to do it injustice. So I am a tad envious but looking forward to the rest of the videos 👍
You sang Mull of Kintyre! Ooh, are you passing through (did you go)? No canals here so I never expected a visit :-). It always helps me to see where I live through the eyes of other people. Lovely video. Hope you tried a proper wild camp at some point, though the campsite did look wonderful. And a bargain.
As you were departing for the aisle of Aaron, I have noticed that the clouds above the shore looked just as they are here today in Wisconsin… Traveling is the best way to learn what an amazing planet we live on. Thank you for letting me travel with you!
Simply the best way to experience such places - on a bike. Problem is such beauty starts to rival the canals and you start saying - 'yes I could live here' ride safe.
Amazing landscape and ocean views. That campsite was a stroke of good fortune and beautiful!. Btw I wanted to mention, that the music choice you made was so appropriate! 🏍🏕🌊
My love of Scotland started on a school field trip to Arran. Trains, ferries and minibus from Sheffield to Lochranza when I was about 17. Even if you don't know much about geology it really does have everything. Ailsa Craig is where stone was quarried for curling stones. Almost 40 years later and trips to all corners, its a country I miss if I don't go back regularly. I did visit the Mull of Kintyre and Campbeltown a couple of years ago and you couldn't see Arran, but that's Scottish weather for you!

Hi, Kevin, I totally agree with everyone’s wonderful comments. As for me, you lifted my spirits, thanks so much.
Thanks for taking us to these places as I will never get there in person, but always a pleasure to see it through your lens.
Love the Scottish isles. Thanks for letting us see them again in an unpretentious and calming way.
Normally bike videos are something that doesn't appeal to me, but you make it interesting to watch, and those VIEWS!! who could not be impressed. 🤗👍

Bloody fantastic!!!

Thanks Kevin, your videos are a breath of fresh air.
Thank you, I'm really pleased to hear that. 🙂
Kevin, part 2 is just astounding. Bike sounds great and the weather is 👍 mate please keep them coming our way. Cheers Charlie from Pennsylvania 😊
Wow Kevin…looks like camping and biking and shooting video is extremely hard work. 😅 Thanks for all you do! ❤
Oh what a fabulous ride! Gorgeous scenery and such a fabulous campsite! Those french fries on the ferry looked so delicious!
Thanks Kevin, this is the best bike trip video ever mate, breath-taking views and as you said words are not needed. I hope that you are doing well. Take care and all the best. Stevie

Agree with your comment about some of the scenery. “Words are useless “
Fantastic to hear that, thank you.

I didn't know that. Just assumed they were for warm climates, white sandy beaches and so on.

It's really quite excellent to hear that, thank you and hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
Oh my, I totally agree with you, now I just finished your blog. Its stunning. That campsite is .... yes as you said, no words.❤️
The vast view - so different from your narrow boat view! Fabulous, thanks for filming, editing and posting...

Awesome to hear that Mike. As you say, what a quandary. Hope you enjoy. :)
Thanks, Kevin. This is excellent. Loved every second of it 🏴🇬🇧
Excellent. Quite a contrast from the narrowboat but just as amazingly interesting and informative. An absolute pleasure to watch.

I’ll never get to these Scottish Isles so thanks for taking me along as very enjoyable!
Hope you do go, if willing and able. .. it’s breathtaking!
Great Stuff Kev - and I'm rather liking the slide guitar.
Wow, what a beautiful island, and those views are amazing... you keep adding to my bucket list Kevin.
