  • A roundtable with Hawai'i Triennial 2025 (HT25) artists Las Nietas de Nonó (mulowayi iyaye nonó), Nanea Lum, Tiare Ribeaux, and Shannon Te Ao, moderated by curator Healoha Johnston (Bishop Museum). The artists discuss the layered meanings of aloha ʻāina, which can be translated into “love of land.” Aloha ‘āina can also refer to the care and fearless defense of land and ocean, a Hawai‘i-specific nationalism, an acknowledgement of the inter-connectivity in all living elements - whereby the boundaries of contemporary art be addressed.
