That was absolutely fascinating. Thankyou all for making the video. I'm very interested in aspects of manuscript production that don't get covered much in the books such as the ink used by the calligrapher, the compostition of the paint; the typeface used and so on. Parts of the video discussion resonated with me in that I'm also kneeling down and trying to see underneath and behind the manuscripts on display in museums lol. And endbands ... Love them! Like endpapers and pastepapers. I always want to know more about the stitching and details about what the cord and threads are made of.
Oh, if I had a time machine I'd go back to watch these books being made! :0

      Thanks for watching!
There will be a third part as well. It's already edited, I just need to publish it :)

    Good morning,
A number of years ago I had a reason to go to Coimbra Portugal while there I went into the University library, and I believe that I saw chain books in the shelves there. If you get a chance, I believe it’s worth visiting. Of course the library at S Coryell near Lisbon. I think it’s also worth a visit.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks! My sister now lives in Portugal. So that's a good opportunity to see both family and some interesting books!
