Some people adopt pets so they won't be euthanized, others save distressed clothes from ending up as trash/forgotten. It’s almost poetic, really, that some people can find meaning in saving something as seemingly insignificant as a piece of distressed clothing.
I see the vision because it is a cool look and people would diy distressing all the time but when it looks so organic and he calls it tasty I throw up in my mouth a little Also i think they should wear their personal distressed pieces to show styling, cause it’s kind of weird none of them are wearing distressed pieces
Broken in, repaired, well worn is cool…this stuff is thrashed beyond use. Frame it up and hang it on a wall. Wearing it is just ridiculous….like an extra in a zombie movie
When you do this for a living (at least when you actually have a passion for it) you learn all the nerdy details that help you date garments. Materials, stitching etc. With ww2 era stuff, the US was rationing materials, so you see things like donut buttons (those used less metal), lack of pocket flaps on jackets. A big one is the “arcuate” design on the back pockets of Levi’s jeans. They were hand painted instead of stitched. Stuff like that. The garment in question in the vid can 100% be dated to 40s ww2 era.
FWIW, the Levi’s stuff is so well documented that it’s relatively easy to figure out the era when items from them were produced. Of all the stuff in this video, that Levi’s jacket probably is actually worth that price in the right situation (think auction, not warehouse flea market).

If you are able to sell that hoodie for 2,500 or that jacket for 9,000 honestly good for you. A class salesmanship.

There’s a sucker born every minute. Unwearable rags going for thousands is the definition of excess, people get a grip.
People complaining about inflation, food and rent prices, yet the dollar is strong and markets like these are booming.
@@euro51116dollar isnt strong dumbazz inflation is proof
I have no shame selling this crap to the rich if they want to buy it.
Does it have to be vintage? I have some really cool naturally distressed pieces in my closet right now
It’s open to interpretation! That’s the beauty of art. You do your thing, girl! Make bank.

Sir, your pants are unzipped. It’s the last step to check before stepping in front of the camera.
So buy clothes off from bums backs and jack up the price and call it folk art
This is genuinely embarrassing
