When I have money to travel I keep going back to Croatia. I’ve become one of those people that go to the same country all the time 🤣 I just love it and love the people too. Never met a nasty Croatian. I also love Croatian TV, it’s so cultured with the concerts and classical music. Oh and the food ….. best off everything! and great coffee too. ❤❤ and the most beautiful scenery. I keep editing this comment as remember something else I missed 🤣

This is so magical! My friends from Ploće (Neretva valley) come to Zagreb to visit the Christmas Market every year and they always say "Oh man, this is gorgeous!" I will have to come there and see it all with my own eyes :-) Thanks a lot for the lovely video! Thumb up - always :) P.S. Greetings from Wroclaw in Poland!
I was there visiting from the uk friday - monday. Really loved it but after seeing this video realise a lot was missed. I guess I will have to go again next year to explore further! Great video as always guys!
Wow that looks so amazing and like so much fun!! My cousin just left for Zagreb for three weeks to experience it for the first time. I'm literally salivating at all the amazing food options!! Yummy 😋🙂🎅🌭🍧🍷
I love Zagreb Advent not because it is the most beautiful, there are more beautiful ones especially in Germany. But there it is only on one square, here in Zagreb it is varied and in several places. And for that, he won the award 3 times, diversity, not appearance, and that's the beauty of Advent in Zagreb
Considering many other cities in Europe are canceling their advent fairs....Zagreb might get few more people this year. But could have visited some of the churches as well to see the decorations.
Just a comment for everyone who will watch (and hopefully like) this and other videos from Sara and Ivan. they are realistic and you can rely on comments and observations you hear in those clips. Born and still living in ZG. Sara and Ivan ❤

Thanks for a great guide. I just arrived home (Canada) last night after visiting Zagreb's Advent markets. I wish I saw this earlier. I heard today that #1 Advent Market in Croatia is in Varazdin, #2 ranked was Zrinjevac. I wanted to just let you know the tiny dough balls are called "Fritule" not Fritulice.
Nice video! How long did it take you guys to go trough all the locations? Could it be done in one evening (3-4 hours)?? What time do the lights come on anyway? I would have to drive 2 hours one way to get there, that's why I'm asking.
Is Fritulica like Tim Hortons Timbits? I wonder who invented it first Croatia with Fritulica or Tim Hortons with Timbits. I think I know the answer to this one, lol.

guys they are called fritule. i know you can call them fritulice as a nickname or a term of endearment but the food is called fritule. when you say so many times in such a short video it doesn't sound very good any more. i haven't personally herd anyone use that word before as an official name for the dish only if they are unusually small. but the ones you are eating here aren't small, that is the normal size. i am glad you have your own name for them but if you are making a guide for other people to enjoy advent using proper names for food will be way more useful for people who may want to try fritule at Zagreb advent and aren't from croatia. just saying.

Not all is amaizng at Avent. The food and the drinks are super expensieve. They use the cheapest wine and Germknendle don't taste good. There are some good food, but way overpriced. The atmosphere is cute, but it is very, very cold so moving around is a must. Music is usually so so, depends on the day. Just to be real. :)
Well you can find negatives everywhere you go. Life is short focus on nice things. Every single establishment uses the cheapest ingredients possible, so not really an issue with advent. They're not gonna user premium wine to cook it 😂😂 oh and cold, it's freaking December, what do you expect? 25C? 😂😂

There’s quite a lot of Austrian influence in Croatian cuisine - it remained from Austro-Hungarian empire era 😉
Yes, some Austrian foods are common in Croatia for example krafne/krofne (from the Austrian/Bavarian: Krapfen) or štrudla/savijača (Strudel).

Every year advent is worse and worse...
Tomašević is the reason.
To je zato sto dovoljno jednom da vidis te svjecice i popijes vino s nogu.
Poslije vise nije interesantno
