I’ve been enjoying your videos. What is your opinion on Svolt? Do you think their lower price justifies selling them over Volta, especially with the sna5000?

I really really think the Svolt is a nice entry level battery well designed, just had my third install what is even shocking is that it comes with proper connectors solid network cable and wow has an instructional manual booklet for that price it beats the odds, one thing am not sure of is the support structure number 1 and if it's a 1st life or 2nd life battery

Apparently they are first Life Cells

Your videos are very informative, thank you! Could you advise how one would wire up a 3kw inverter where not all plugs are running on essential loads (Some are essential, and others not) - you would then need two earth leakages, one in the main DB for the non-essential plugs and one from the AC Protection box for the essential plugs. Can both earth leakages tie back to the non-eskom neutral bar?

Is there a sequence that must be followed if i want to switch the change over to eskom

Hi Anthony, thanks for the great videos, I wanted to ask you some questions. Why do you use a 20A breaker on the inverter supply is this not to small?I have been told to use a 40A for both supply and inverter output for a 5Kw SunSynk. Also would it be possible to show us an AC protection/changeover box you have done for a 5Kw SunSynk inverter please. I also wanted to ask if you have a split DB (essentials and non-essentials), do you need an earth leakage in both the split DB's?

Most 5kva inverters have a Max output of 22A ,so 20A should be the closest and for warranty purposes, remember that the Inverters are rated in VA so you multiply 5 times 0.8 efficiency gives you the average true KW and then you get the true current output from there. Basically on the side of the inverter it has the specs written on it. People at times will advise you on things they themselves don't know much about so rather also consult with the manufacturer if they are available

    Hi Antony
How will the ac wiring ( with change over switch)diagram look like if my inverter has 2 x load
    out to my db.
    Thanks a lot

Hi you will probably need a bigger AC Protection box say 18 way, from your change over switch you will feed a second dB in parallel with the db that's if the main dB is not close to the second db to save on cable as well
