Dan, this new home seems to be much more Max accessible. He can be in the living, diningroom, and kitchen all at once. The rooms are not all closed off like the other house. This is just so nice for him. I also think he will really enjoy his perch in the kitchen. I am so proud for you, Max and Dusty. Really a nice open home.💕
Oh Dan, TREASURE these days well. This is the grace period when our boy is still intrigued and mesmerized by all the new sights and sounds? around him. He's in the cautious exploratory mode. Max is still unsure; it's a big change for the little boy. But it's obvious he's a happy birb! So much to see and explore. I absolutely love that place. There's a certain aura about this place. Besides the great job Dan did decorating, there's an airy, warm, cozy feeling about this home. Google/gmail has not been sending me by half the notification emails of messages sent to me, so you are not the only one frustrated with them. I don't like to ask this of anyone, but I will ask you. Please, if I haven't responded within a day or so, do let me hear from you, as I hope you know I would never ignore your messages. I'm not quite sure how to resolve this, but now that I know for sure, I'll get on it.😔 You mentioned your nights and days being reversed. Me, too! going on for at least a couple of years, and try as I have so many times to course-correct, I fall right back into it. I have, however, become more hopeful since my surgery, because my M-W-F PT is scheduled for 2:00pm, so I have to get up earlier. I must allow four hours in order to get through my a.m. meal routine, starting with taking thyroid meds 1 hr before I eat. I am a slow eater, a healthy habit that usually leaves me having to get dressed and out the door in 10 mins! I'm a mess. Since I was up early(ier) this morning, I was able to watch Dan feeding Max rice and then the puppy dogs and getting to see a clearer picture of Dan's stream/creek, people calling it different things, I really enjoyed the video and especially all the really positive messages being sent Dan's way. Seems everyone is picking up on his more relaxed demeanor and responding in kind. I always enjoy seeing Dan in front of the camera, a rare treat indeed. He is becoming an expert with his phone/camera. Did you notice, as I did, that he positioned himself in front of the camera so the very top of his head wasn't showing? At first I thought it was a coincidence, but after watching it a couple of times, I don't think it was a coincidence. At any rate, he is a gentle, caring man to stand there holding the spoonful of rice so Max could nibble a few grains. I am always fascinated at how slowly and delicately he eats. But, then, the puppy dogs! I am going to pull up that video on my laptop, because I never did see those dogs on my phone, and I've got a Samsung 9+, which has a big screen! I am a bit sleep deprived, so I'll get to bed now, even though I wanted to look at a few more comments. Talk again soon. 💝🦋

Hey West Virginia!! I'm like 2 and a half hours away in Maryland. If I go outside I'm pretty much surrounded by water also ...the Cheasapeak. I'd rather be back home in the Pine Barrens, New Jersey....maybe one day. We have the Fort Deposit Damn to kind of worry about I would think. But it is a pretty place with the long boardwalk here & all. I luv the Concord Point lighthouse. (Haunted & cool stuff in Maryland & great metal detecting in Maryland & Virginia.
@@dovlacro6382 we haven't had a flood in my area for decades. I live very near the Marmet locks and damn and it helps prevent flooding. The Kanawha is fairly large and while flooding is certainly not out of the question, in the 33 years I've lived in my current house we haven't had any flooding. I sure do hope it stays that way for us and for Dan, Max and Dusty.

I was just reminiscing about one of the best shows ever. 🙄
He's so smart, funny and handsome. When we were moved to our new house, one of my dog wont sleep, wont eat, and poop for two days, ske kept asking us to go back to our old house, when her grandma (my mom) visited and explained her, she realised the reality, lol.
Dan you’re doing a great job with the new house. It’s very nice. (I like the canisters) 🏠. I can tell Max is a little wary but as I’ve said in other videos- as long as he has you he’s just fine. He doesn’t take his birdie eyes off of you.
Watching max makes me miss my cockatoo even more , the only difference mine was more aggressive towards new people and had a yellow crest , he passed away at 57 years old , exactly the same walking style and class the white dust off the feathers, so much personality and well loved thank you for your videos , beatuful

I'm so happy that you found the way to keep him , to rescue him, and you knew he bonded with you as you with him..he is the happiest most spoiled healthy baby boy birdy ever!
Nothing like a pet bird. I didn't know until I was 37. They are smart, sensitive, and have a sense of humor once you get what they think. They will play with you, in fact insist on it. They think you're a crippled giant bird that can't fly. They notice that you hear through your ears. They crawl up your arm to quietly talk into it. They drag spaghetti off a plate to share with friends. At nighttime they do a perimeter check making sure everyone is safe before retiring to their home. When finished, they signal the "all clear." They know you, your wife, your friends and pets. Speaking bird language is real.
@@surfside75 My experience is, birds are intelligent not for their amazing sound imitation but what they want to do. Which is look after YOU. You are a crippled giant bird and they won't let you down. They will appreciate and look after you the best they can.
@@happy1831 The most loyal, observant "people." They love their home, but will defend your home as well to the best of their ability. Keep the cage door open, you have a friend. To any bird buyer: Leave the cage always, always open, a ladder is helpful. They're doing the best they can. Be amazed. But keep that door open so they can do their job. They will learn your language as well they can. Above all they will scout the house, okay it's safe, settle on your dinner table, and share dinner. Cool or what? "What are we sharing tonight?" Birds are the coolest friends when not locked up.

Watching max makes me miss my cockatoo even more , the only difference mine was more aggressive towards new people and had a yellow crest , he passed away at 57 years old , exactly the same walking style and class the white dust off the feathers, so much personality and well loved thank you for your videos , beatuful

Nothing like a pet bird. I didn't know until I was 37. They are smart, sensitive, and have a sense of humor once you get what they think. They will play with you, in fact insist on it. They think you're a crippled giant bird that can't fly. They notice that you hear through your ears. They crawl up your arm to quietly talk into it. They drag spaghetti off a plate to share with friends. At nighttime they do a perimeter check making sure everyone is safe before retiring to their home. When finished, they signal the "all clear." They know you, your wife, your friends and pets. Speaking bird language is real.

@@surfside75 My experience is, birds are intelligent not for their amazing sound imitation but what they want to do. Which is look after YOU. You are a crippled giant bird and they won't let you down. They will appreciate and look after you the best they can.

@@happy1831 The most loyal, observant "people." They love their home, but will defend your home as well to the best of their ability. Keep the cage door open, you have a friend. To any bird buyer: Leave the cage always, always open, a ladder is helpful. They're doing the best they can. Be amazed. But keep that door open so they can do their job. They will learn your language as well they can. Above all they will scout the house, okay it's safe, settle on your dinner table, and share dinner. Cool or what? "What are we sharing tonight?" Birds are the coolest friends when not locked up.
