I have a question So can you rent a room in the Jackson prison old jail I was kind of confused I seen you go through the door and you gave us a tour of the building but can you rent those rooms to live in or are there like office space or something ? Hi Mama. I had no idea the building was being used, but drove by and thought I'd see if I could get into the old prison grounds and then also found out the building doors were open. It looked like a combination of art studio spaces for rent and possibly apartments. I wish in hindsight I checked out the upper floors to see what was on them. They used to give guided tours of the prison and cells blocks, but stopped a wish they would bring those back. It was still a neat place to visit. Thank you for your kind comment. I plan to visit the prison tour where the movie Shawshank Redemptiom was filmed this summer ... its in Mansfield Ohio.
It’s a art studio and apartments so like normal apartments you just rent. I’m not sure if it’s just for art students or not, I don’t remember but I live in the area. There is like only one room that use to be a prison room in the whole place. They tore pretty much 90% of them prison down. The tunnels under it are my favorite
I wonder what it is like for new inmates. I saw a 2 star rating and that scares me. Like, why so low a review? Dangerous, amenities low, crappy food or security? I'd like to know.
