- HOW TO HIDE WORKSHEET TABS IN EXCEL - HIDDEN VS VERY HIDDEN // Learn to hide your spreadsheet tabs in Excel so that users cannot easily unhide them. When you make your tabs Very Hidden, a user who right-clicks on a tab in your workbook will not see any tabs to unhide. This is useful if you have data tables on other tabs in your spreadsheet that allow you to create drop-down lists on one tab that you want to send to users but you want to ensure the data table tabs remain hidden. While making your tabs Very Hidden is an extra layer of protection, you still should not send any spreadsheet that contains highly confidential information, even if it is on a Very Hidden tab.

@@SharonSmith Can you please help here. I would like to hide the Purchase Order form. When I used "VeryHidden" option, I got an error message Run Time Error "5"..Invalid Procedure call or argument. When I removed the option, it worked.
Great suggestion and demo. I always come back to your channel when I want to make my sheets look legit. You have easy to follow instructions and very useful topics. Thank you for all that you do.
Thank you Mily! That is great to hear. I really appreciate it. Thanks for watching my videos!!
This is great! I suspected a hidden tab in the Excel file because Microsoft's spreadsheet compare tool showed it, but I could not see that tab in the Excel document. This helped me locate and remove it! (I had to make it visible first, save the code, and then I could delete it like normal back in the Excel file.)
Glad you found this video helpful! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the tip. The only issue I have hiding tabs this way is the links to my buttons and macros don't work. Is there any way that I can hide the tabs and still use the buttons and macros from my home page?
Great
Thanks for watching!
I LOVE YOU SHARON!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!!
Hi Sharon. Great video. Is there a way to put a password on individual tabs to prevent them from being opened. I know you can do whole workbook but want to add a layer more.
Hi Hector, yes, you can protect just one sheet in your workbook. Go to the Review tab and in the "Protect" area, click on "Protect Sheet" instead of "Protect Workbook." I hope this helps! Thanks for watching my videos!
@@SharonSmith sorry I meant password protect tabs from being opened within a document. Similar to how access is limited to a full workbook without entering a password, but on the individual tabs.
@@hectorguido1774 I have the same question. And I saw another video where you need to do some VBA, but I wish there was a simpler method.
Good but when we hide . printing , print preview of data on the hidden page not working. macro or vba code not working
I like to HIDE on excel the top right "Minimize" "Expand" "Close" tabs, is this possible? or in the other hand, make these tabs not working.
It seems that it's not possible
Hello madam,
After I change the visible property to xlsheetvisible,
I got message , unable to set the visible property....
Please advise What to do.
Thanks
Hello - was this the only tab on your sheet? It will not let you hide if there are no other tabs on the sheet. Not sure if this was your issue or not. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
👍😘
Thanks for watching!
I hide particulars columns and save it ...but i want hidden in the particular colums ????i want answer now mam ....
Hi Thiru, you can hide columns within the spreadsheet by selecting them, right-click and select Hide. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
@@SharonSmith i hidden and saved it .....before hidden what was in xl sheet ....i want like that???
How to unhide very hidden sheet after?
Hello! Same way you make it very hidden, you can right click the tab, view code and set the visible property back to SheetVisible. Thanks for watching!
How about if there is no tab available anymore? All the sheets were VERY VERY HIDDEN and there is nothing to right click on.
You should be able to access the Visual Basic editor from the Developer tab. If you don't have the Developer tab enabled, you can customize the ribbon to enable it or you can try the keyboard short cut (Alt+F11) to open Visual Basic. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching my videos!
Whoever watched your this video can easily unhide the sheets now 😂😂
Very very hidden would be to password the tab before following the step in this video.
Or to password VBA access.
Adding passwords will make it very hidden and locked. Should a user find their way to that menu
