True. Zoro has believed in luffy from the very beginning in East Blue. His dream is to be the greatest swordsman, he would never follow someone who didnt have greater ambitions than he does.
I loved how Kid looked surprised and then they panned to Zoro and Law looking all swag. They have seen and know the miracles Luffy can bring. This is the first taste, to Kid's eyes, on what Luffy is capable. This arc has been pretty damn teasing and long but I cannot wait to see how it ends.

I'm glad Luffy had a speech, It shows how much he understands the situation and how far he has grown mentally.
But it was also hype as hell 🔥🔥🔥
He always has been very perspective and intelligent on why things happens and what he should do, but now in Wano more than ever you can see his determination and drive to end the torment this people have been endured for 20 whole years, he’s literally carrying the will of a man he never even met.
Nothing but respect to every animator and especially the director Ms Megumi Ishitani, thank you.

The most underrated part is 1:39, when Kinemon cries, it feels like he has finally found the salvation for Wano, the one man who can take down Kaido after all the pain and suffering he's caused
Suddenly, the big monster that cannot be defeated by anybody is now faced with somebody who can actually take him down at long last
The best part? Kin has observation haki, so he definitely felt all that go down. Yk if he could’ve walked and talked he would’ve been cheering like a cheerleader at a pep rally

Easily the most visually appealing episode I’ve seen in a long time, they truly kicked it up a couple notches didn’t they.

Crunchyroll don’t have a choice my dad works in the Legal field so basically toei could sue for whatever reason because they changed the name from the original one piece to roof piece if u see any of crunchy rolls videos they are allowed to title it any way they want to but it must include the actual name of the anime within the title

Not gonna lie I cried a little when Luffy picked up Kin’emon and was talking to him. This episode felt like a mini movie!!
Bro, same. When he cut off Kin'emon as he was about to say please, and just said of course he would, because it was his friend's country, the tears started and wouldn't stop. Such a pure answer and exactly why we love Luffy.
Also the voice of Kin'emon just before he passes out - the tone of it was just so epic. The feels are unreal this episode.

This episode adapted the latter half of the hallmark 1000th chapter so it's really awesome to see anime only fans go through the same feelings that us readers went through reading it. It's beautiful isn't it?
Extremely well done scene. Kaido has been invincible, untouchable, and this attack felt overwhelmingly powerful.
It’s like Goku managed land a hit on Frieza. The monster that the heroes had been losing to suddenly didn’t feel so scary.

Using Prometheus as a light source is genius. The whole scene was perfect. I cannot think of a single thing that could've been delivered in a better way.
Edit: After punching Kaidou, the whole lightning changes - the ("real") sun starts illuminating in the background, calling upon the new dawn.

We have witnessed so many epic enterances by Luffy so far and most of them were because of some kind of a rage moment. While he was walking between the 2 emporers it was pure confidence. We are witnessing a masterpiece in the making for many many years now. I hope I don't die before we see the end of it!!

1:07 The way that Luffy says Gomu-Gomu here and the angle that he's positioned at in the air reminds me a lot of when he faced down the 3 Admirals at Marineford with a Gum-Gum Stamp Gatling. In Marineford he failed to save Ace, but here he got a bit of revenge for Ace by knocking down Kaido (since Ace was never able to return to Wano to defeat Kaido).
It makes me really so happy that a community term such as “Roof Piece” has become the official term for this portion of the story

1:23 Man the animators went all out… what a punch. You can literally feel the power of it through your screen.
The gentleness in which Luffy firms his hat back on gives me CHILLS. He's come so far and we've gotten to watch every step of the way, what a privilege!
The direction on that Flashback Montage is phenomenal. Especially the transitions. It all builds to the devastating Red Roc wonderfully. Just a fantastic episode. 10/10.

For 20 years in the story Oden, Roger and Whitebeard were all waiting for the next generation to burst forward and change the world, and for 20 years we have been reading One Piece waiting for this moment. Oda has has truly ascended.
It's probably been mentioned here numerous times already but my favorite part of this scene is that everyone is so absolutely shocked at Luffy knocking Kaido down... except Zoro, who just grins with pride. That's his Captain, the man he's pledged his life to, and this is just another reason why. The man who can do what Luffy just did is deserving of his respect.
The build up, the ferociousness of Luffy's attack, the absolute SHOCK on Big Moms face, and the "we are" ost in the background. These are the moments that make one peice my favorite anime of all time.
Thank you Megumi Ishitani for bringing Oda's modern epic into even higher status of PEAK FICTION.
Megumi Ishitani is the director who did DBS ep 131, and OP ep 957 with the warlords, and ep 982 when the raid started. She is a queen.

I love the bit at 1:53 where Big Mom and Kaido both turn to look at Luffy as he talks. The way their faces are shaded reminds me of the first OP when the different arc villains had their faces flash on the screen all framed in shadow. Oh how far we’ve come…

1:29 Favourite part, tbh. There's something that's just so satisfying and cool about watching Luffy's back with the wind and the cape, appart from the movement of the "camera" and the ice *cracking* and melting into sakura petals. Definitely aesthetic, and so gratifying with the music.

But the point is that Luffy's hit was so HOT he actually broke the ice (I think... xD).
@@ismatoro1 Maybe I'm wrong but I think the reason of the fire in Luffy's Red Hawk and Red Roc is because rubber can get hotter due to stretching, so once the heat was released as fire, and the rubber contracts it gets cooler and frozen the surroundings. I see it as a visual resource of the huge stress of this attack.

Goosebumps everytime i watch this scene, the animation of Luffy's attack as well as Zoro's smirk is thrilling.
This episode is a masterpiece. It accomplishes so much and it does so organically. When it shows all the events that lead to this moment, I couldn't help but get chills. Especially since we were seeing snippets from Luffy's point of view. What really makes that aspect special for me, is that I don't often view the story through the eyes of a singular character so I don't typically know what some characters know and don't know. For example; Luffy never listened to Nami's backstory when Nojiko was talking about it so he doesn't know anything about it. Anyway, this scene was a reminder how far we have come since then and it really lays down the payoff in front of us. This is by far the best episode of One Piece to date and I imagine it will reign in the top 5 episodes by the time One Piece ends too.
This moment might top "I want to live" given time to settle. Loved all the art direction for the perspective scenes - phenomenal animation. RUclips honestly needs a "spoilers warning" feature before a video plays - I hope this stays out of everyone's recommended who hasn't caught up

The direction of this episode was amazing, the music, light, the scenes transition, the voice acting, the very essence of One Piece right on this moment, incredible job.

It actually became the third highest rated TV episode on IMDB with a 10/10 rating. It’s a shame that some obsessed jobless haters review-bombed it with 1/10 ratings, and now the episode is rated 9.6/10.
Those haters are probably mostly some jealous jobless AoT and Demon Slayer fans lol

The best One Piece episode of all time! The animation, the direction that Megumi Ishitani went and the emotions and the drama was absolutely peak!

The part where Kaido and Big Mom were looking at Luffy in pure shock and sweat at the end was so satisfying.
Anyone going to talk about the fact that they played the first intro on the large punch Luffy had there? It gave me chills and made me straight up smile like there is no tomorrow because I enjoy how they made it that he was growing in power there, and how far he's come. God I hope that one piece doesn't end soon.

Looking back at one piece’s first episode, it’s an absolute phenomenon seeing how far the series has come. It truly makes me happy to be a one piece fan. I doubt any series or story will ever have the same impact this has made on me.
