The song means more than what people who battle suicidal thoughts are labeled. There are parts of us that we wish we could kill off and not totally rid the Earth of ourselves. The lack of understanding and coping/ council make us feel like the only way to kill it is to take ourselves with it. I feel like if more doctors/ therapists/ psychiatrist knew that then we'd be more clear with each other.

As someone who's been on both sides. All i can say is never blame yourself or others for not noticing, one thing someone in that mindset really really doesn't want. We try to hide it because we don't want others to bear it or come close to our own stress, we feel it is our pain to carry. Your brother loved you with all his heart and is watching over you always. You'll feel him when you least expect it. I pray he found the peace he was searching for. Never forget that the impact he made on you will last a life time and that is the greatest gift. Good memories you'll always hold with you.

Dude....Im crying my eyes out right now to this song. It's 9/11 today and it just reminds me of Iraq and everything that has happened after. Ive lost a shit load of people to suicide, and overdoses. Im not saying this is a veterans song this shit hits everyone I'm sure. It just hits that way with me. Hell I've had the gun in my mouth after iraq. I get it. The way you say "I didn't mean to kill myself, just end a part of me"..... that's the nail on the head dude. Ive listened to the song on repeat for like 5 hrs now. It's perfect.

i know all too well what its like to be a burden not only was i a foster child after my dad died my mom left me for meth, i was a run away for along time from foster homes and group homes searching for love anywhere i could always feeling like a burding trying to figure out where i belonged crying myself to sleep knowing i didn't have a place that was home. Being an adult at 12 not knowing how to survive or know where i was going to get my next meal from. I am now a mother of 3 with a husband and have been in our house 4 years almost five now and this is the longest i have ever been somewhere that was home in my life. I am strong and i have survived hell to be where i am and i know that my kids will never have to go through what i went through. They saved my life 😌 🙌 🙏 if you feel like you can't make it or don't think you are ever going to make it out the dark just know you will always hit the ground before you can rise. But to always remember its okay to not be okay its okay to be at the bottom just don't stay there too long! Always keep pushing! 💯

Another Vet here. This song always gets me. I lost 13 brothers from my time serving...2 were from combat. One was murdered and the rest were lost to their demons.
I heard this song last year some time and by the end of it I had tears down my face. The song speaks to everyone different, but for me it was them speaking to me. Without getting all mopey, just a heartfelt thank you for putting a voice to that pain and helping with the healing.

Jim Carrey and this song aren’t just my fav songs by him they are some of my fav songs of any genre. Very deep and a huge message. This video had a message too. To my perception at the beginning he’s at a club and partying but he feels out of place and he gets up to walk away from it and everyone crowds him and takes pics and stuff, and then he gets away and it says “suffocated by anxiety” as if he was getting anxiety being around all the people and can’t wait to get home, but then he’s home and still has the feeling that he can’t escape from, he don’t wanna kill himself he just wants to kill the feeling inside of him that he carries around every day and feels as if suicide is the only way out.

Went from a home owner father of 4 step kids to homeless father to no 1. Since then 2 D.U.I 2 assaults. Now I'm waiting to get sentenced. I'm struggling to be sober and at peace with it all but I'm doing it. This song is my current state of mind

So back on the 7th of September I heard a coworker who I really admired and looked up to died to overdose because he was at a party. This came on the anniversary of Mac Miller's death and the same day I heard this song. It was all so much it made me realize I needed to quit drinking. I showered went in my kitchen and poured all my liquor down the drain without a second thought. I wasn't abusing acohol severely but it was getting worse and I think long term I'll have this song to thank for realizing drug abuse to hide parts of us we hate will only kill us before we can fix what it is we hate. I refuse for it to become a part of me because I tried to hide it instead of fix it

Went to one of his first shows with strange music and he was with some other dude and they were on stage as duo and all I could think besides confirming is not only the goat of performance but I KNEW this king iso guy was going to be something.
