- A Lufthansa sharklet A320 blasting out of Naples, Italy with a TOGA (full-power) takeoff, which can only be seen/heard in about 1% of all takeoffs, when the aircraft needs to rotate as quickly as possible on a short runway.
After taking into the skies from Runway 24 with a tremendous roar and and an insane climbrate, the aircraft performed an immidiate right turn over downtown Napoli towards the Gulf of Naples, giving some awesome views of Mt. Vesuvius, the port of Naples, Stazione Garibaldi and the Amalfi Coast.
After a right 180 to the north, passengers on the left also had some scenic views on the islands of Ischia and Procida as well an onto Cape Miseno.

It was definitely a TOGA. I flew from Naples in various occasions and take-offs from there always felt faster and steeper than anywhere else I’ve been to.
It was, its always insane, how steep the departing traffic climbs out of NAP.

My undersanding is TOGA is used sparingly as it shortens the service interval of the engines, but is sometimes used because the aircraft is very close to it's maximum take-off weight. This limits acceleration, which in effect shortens the available runaway and increases a rejected take-off stopping distance.
Actually, it sounded like a completely normal A320ceo (or A320neo) take-off. Sorry.

This was actually a TOGA takeoff, they give full power to climb out of NAP quickly, the rate of climb is accordingly impressive 😅

Das macht doch mal Spaß, wenn man auch mal nen 320 auf volle Leistung bringt. Auch die Flas sind lange draußen, normal sind die ja deutlich früher rein, wenn nicht gerade ne ordenliche Climbrate benötigt wird.
Jaa, die Departures aus NAP sind wirklich immer wieder was Besonderes 😍
