You have transformed my game in a few short videos. And for the first time in my life, I get backspin on the greens. You've changed me from a swinger to a hitter. Maintaining shaft flex is something I never knew despite hundreds of PGA pro lessons. Every golfer wants distance off the tee and backspin on the greens. Nice to know from others the genius of Moe Norman. As an observer of too much professional golf, I am amazed at the number of bad shots professional golfers make and how skillfully they recover from them. It seems to me, that a lot of tournamenst are won or lost on one or two shots a round. That’s 4-8 strokes a tournament. I wonder why more golfers don’t bullet proof their swings like Moe Norman. If they change their approach to the game and really change their swing mechanics to a Moe Normanesque swing, they would make more money on tour. Tiger Woods certainly did that during his prime. It is easily said “fairways and greens” win. Thanks for your videos and your channel.
I have to say... I got a bit jaded by being exposed to Moe as a striker. People often ask me, even today, "who do you like on tour now?" It's hard to answer because like you said, there are just too many bad shots out there. Moe just raised the bar so high, and there were other really impressive strikers from my era. I played at the tail end of the persimmon age. It was a different time, and a different way of going about things. Ball control was key, accuracy. That is how I think, even today....ball control first. I really understand that era, and how to apply those ideas. Moe spoke highly of Trevino, Hogan, Knudson. You won't see those guys miss hit many shots. They would miss greens from wind issues, club selection, bad bounce etc.. but hard to find them hitting space balls. Hogan's drive into the left rough at Olympic Club was due to his right foot slipping causing him to lose pressure in the shaft. Also, I think you have to realize that if you are hitting all the par 5's in two with irons, those are really par 4's. So a lot of today's courses are playing as par 68's relative to the classic game. So a 65 today is like a 69 in the classic game.
@@lagpressure I completely agree with you. Trevino was the bomb and so colorful. Golf today is like watching watching a roulette wheel or a slightly weighted dice game. Most player have about the same chance of having a good round. Whoever is “lucky” that week wins. I am looking forward to trying to bullet proof my swing
@@joegomez5807 I saw Trevino at the bank of Boston classic in 85. I was young player and excited to see the Merry Mex. He wasn’t playing well and was a complete a hole away from the cameras. I said something and he was basically like F off kid. That really stuck with me while at the same tournament met a no name struggling pro named Tom Lehman. He was a total class act and such a nice guy before he ever did anything in golf.

From other videos it seems like Moe loved his clinics and loved showing other people what he could do. Just feel you are depriving the world of his greatness slightly. But that's me just being selfish I guess I appreciate you keeping your word
