Sailing Zingaro Great hacks! Thanks! What kind of glue did you use to glue down the strips of that insulation stuff? Contact cement? Also, I searched all over amazon and Home Depot and can’t find anything like the foam you bought that was that big and that cheap. Where did you buy it?

Always a pleasure to see any of your content. Fully agree with your butyl tape plug. I was an early convert and have had great success. One note: I run my counter sink drill bit IN REVERSE, thereby easily modulating how much material I am removing. Has worked like a charm. Keep up the great work you are doing for the (less than conventional) sailing community. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. Your irreverent approach is applauded. And the Deutsches Madchen doesn't hurt either. Cheers my friends.

Hey guys long time no see, will be back now!
My list is Tarp and Tier innertubes for Hull punctures. Old fisherman's trick stuff Tube in Tarp pump up and fill hole.
Vacuum seal plastic travel bags. Great for any stinky rubbish for long term storage, no bug or maggots when in tropics. Or keeping spare electronics safe. Alls hand for heaps of stuff that just pops up you'll find yourself using them alot.
Theres many others but everyone has to work out their own list of top ten things they will never leave port without so you know regardless of what happens all bases are covered.

My 'million candle power' spotlight had a rechargeable battery that died, so I bought ten 9 volt connectors, wired them in parallel, crimped them to the old switch wires and plugged in ten 9 volt batteries. Still super bright and the 9 volts last a long time.

Plastic padding gel coat filler as a quick fix on all fibreglass issues, it works wonders on keeping moisture out until a proper repair can be done. The old guys down the boatyard I grew up on used to sear by the stuff and in my summers spent working on boat repairs I saw exactly what they meant sure you had to grind the stuff off and do a proper repair but nine times out of ten you saved the core and laminate, which made you life a lot easier and the repair a lot cheaper.

Love that end tune by way..:)

Nice... add to the Dyneema bit Frictionless rings in a Dyneema endless loop or eye splice. These allow you to not use blocks which are expensive and loud if allowed to bang on deck, rig etc.. also good for barber haulers etc...
    Enjoy your vids

Sweet tips. My F9A project list just got shorter by 2 hacks. It doesn't have a companionway hatch house so wind blown rain and green water will flow down below. Spent $25 on a truck bed sealing tape. Also the forward hatch is a wimp a leaks too.
Forgot abt butyl tape for deck hardware.
Thanks man. Following seas to you guys.

Mylar especially the bubble wrap kind is great radiant barrier and can be cut to fit as a window insert to keep the boat cooler. I use it on my van, eventually I'll pull the headliner and put it on the inside of the roof, and inside the sidepanels.

So I started watching your channel first and found Sailing La Vagabonde after RUclips's algorithm sent me to them. You are equally entertaining, but I keep finding myself drawn to y'all. I work for Costco, but feel trapped in a never ending race to feel like I'm living. Living La Vida Broke'a is where I came up in life, so that makes me chuckle when I here Y'all say that. Still trying to bring myself to fund you, but don't worry I'm ever thinking about it. I will figure a way to message you eventually. Please keep up the content. Good Sailing and may the winds bring ya watcha need!

While there are items that have to be 'marine grade', hundreds of smalls can be found in hardware or automotive shops for way less. A 'Bean Bag Ashtray' for my cigars was $15 at Bliss Marine because it had 'anchors' printed on it. The same thing at a box store in plain blue was $2.99. Once they slap 'Marine' on something, the price jumps like a scalded frog...

Penetrating epoxy, the stuff is amazing when you run up on some rotten wood on the boat. Use a syringe to inject it into tight spaces, brush it on, or pour it over and the stuff creeps into every nook and cranny and solidifies the rotten wood and makes it super strong. The stuff that cures underwater is especially handy. JB Weld is another for fixing random leaks when you can't haul the boat or when you're out at sea, it's cheap, easy to use, and will cure underwater. I couldn't agree more on the soft shackles and butyl tape, both are invaluable.

Now, if it was some fat guy in a speedo, then I would have needed the eye bleach. His other half would have been far more stimulating to watch, bouncing on the netting.

So here is 3 boaters hack for you. Buy some quality Polarized sunglasses like Costas, Smiths, Maui Jims, etc. They are expensive compares to cheap Walmart sunglasses, they will last far longer (lifetime guaranteed) and will save you money. Plus you will look cooler! ;) Next hack is Whink Rust Remover! Best rust remover you can use on fiberglass. You can buy it at Ace Hardware, ebay or Amazon. Next, replace the stainless steel screws that are constantly rusting on you. It's cheap and easy to do. Ad some 5200 in the screw hole for a 2nd level of protection (water leakage, secureness and anti-rust). Finally, buy this product called Q-Maxx SALT. It is the best anti-rust spray uou can buy. Spray it on a rag (or in a cup using a small brush to paint it on) and wipe down all your metal hardware. It will keep your hardware and cables from rusting and corroding and make your vessel look great.

Rory! The biggest and best tip I can tell you at your age is to SET A DATE! Mine is Nov 7, 2020. I've had it for two years and I can tell you it's amazing the things that are falling into place to make it happen. The universe needs "time" to manifest such a big goal but it can be done. Also, tell everyone you know and build a dream wall or dream book. I like the dream wall because I can see it everyday and add to it. See you out there on the Big Blue!
