Chainsaw Repair Alko Alpina Champion oil in engine not starting

- The Alko saw wouldn't start after being left overnight and when the spark plug was removed it was all oiled up.
If I could get it running it smocked heavily for a while as the oil burnt off.
The cause was the valve in the chain oil tank which had deteriorated and left just a open pipe back to the crankcase and overnight it would fill up the cylinder and oil up the spark plug.
The pipe sends pressure to the oil tank and then when you squeeze the trigger the valve that you adjust for the oil amount to the chain and bar (brass screw R.H.S. of saw) oils the bar and chain.
You could just drain the oil tank and manually oil the chain every so often as necessary or strip the cases out and replace the valve as
the video.

Hi Thanks for this video, but wondered if you could help me re trigger assembly, I did ,as I thought , that you said, secure the control levers, but when separating fully they came loose, and two lightweight springs came out but can’t figure out where they fit on the triggers, any help.??plz.🤔😊
@@michaeldominy2084 Hi Michael, saws back together but given the yellow one to my brother, if you look on the vid on the red champion chainsaw you should be able to pause it, the champion is exactly the same saw from the same manufacturer just with a longer back handle. Hope that helps, good luck 👍

I have the same saw but she is in orange/red(made in USA-saw) and she doesn't start. I think the carb is a bit dirty.
I've got one too and it's not oiling at all and it does the same thing filling up with oil and not starting.

Hi, sorry don't know off anyone that sells the spares, your best bet is to leave the oil tank empty and use a spray can of motorbike chain lubricant as this stays on longer than WD40 but that also works well. Cheers Andy.
