Thanks for the drive around of my hometown. Love to watch videos of Winona. And you were saying the name right. The town has changed a lot. I have been away for more than 50 years but i still call it home.
Most small towns in our country are disappearing due to low job gains and no new construction coming in also I’m from Mississippi and yes we have thousands of small towns in decline it’s sad in a way, but I love my Mississippi!
Nice tour! Looking forward to a Holly Springs, Myrtle and New Albany video. Also Greenwood and Cleveland. The latter has good restaurants and a killer antique store.
You are videoing the OLD Winona. Back in the 1970s (when I was working at Weed Bro Auto Body shop)nWinona was a thriving town. It had 5 grocery stores, around 10 factories, 3 new car dealer ships. But due to poor choices from their board who ran the town, they rejected companies that wanted to come in. One of those companies went to Grenada and made Grenada to prosper. Anys way when I went back to Winona in 1990 20 pluse years later it was going down hill and fast. When I resigned the church 28 years later it had only one factor, no new car dealer ships, and only one grocery store. Its was sad to see a town that could have been great town go down because the people that ran the town didn’t want it to grow. That’s my story. But I still love the place. At one time it was a town full of young people. Ps, that Motel you showed was on old hwy 82. Back in the 60s and the 70’s it was flowing with business. I forgot the name of it. But it was the go to.
That motel could be some great low income housing for vets and or houseless people, with supports coming in for appointments in the front office. It would be easy to set up kitchenettes in the units and get utilities running again.
You make very good vids!! Well made like a pro!! Missed the pup in the Batesville vid. Haven't watched this one yet. Let us see you!!! We need a little eye candy:-).
Winona seems to be a quaint little town. I've met people who say they were from Winona, Ms. but I've never been there. Enjoyed your tour video of Winona, Ms. I live on the Gulf Coast of Ms. 😀

My father use to talk about how Winona would be on the weekends back when he was younger. He would say how downtown use to be jumping.
I’m from Grenada and worked in Winona for 8 years… it was cool at that time; you had to know of the little gems. Food was great.
The containers are a really cool coffee shop
