This is inspiring. Thanks a bunch for posting it!
Anyone else try to blow that speck off the screen 😅
Ya got me!
Gotta use the bottom of the bucket to make a smooth spot in the trench. Then the water flows more easily out of the trench.
That would be so beautiful to put in a bunch of rocks and make your own Creek/drainage
Nature: I'm going to create a spring head and wetland here.
Man: I need to dry this land up it's too wet for my liking.
A French drain would let you use the land and keep the water running where it should.
Ah so this is what "Draining the swamp" looks like
Yeasssssss
GET RID OF DEMOCRRRATS
May dig out the area to make a small pond. Use what you dig out to raise the surrounding area. It looks like it will naturally fill up and creat a spillover into the creek.
I talked about this with an uncle that does excavation. He advised I didn't without engineering and permits since he has had DNR encounters and had to fill back in some of the projects or the project manager had to pay up way more. But it sure was a thought to go ahead with a pond build.
That swing motor sounds weird. Never had a machine click like that on me
Yeah. The slew motor had a hydraulic leak at the seal and would basically wash the grease off. So very thin layer of hydraulic fuild made it so you hear the metal to metal contact between the gears.
@@duotronic6451 done sold it and looking into a bigger newer model atm
What were those huge bugs crawling around in the mud
Kind of sad. Don’t things live there?
Sometimes the swamp exists there to prevent the spread of forest fire
No forest fires where I'm located. It's not actually a swamp just a low laying spot on a farm.
that one spot of mud triggered me bro i hate OCD
One of those things you don't see while filming/ operating at the time lol
Meeeee toooooo 😂 😂
@@deborahkutalik9422 omg i felt like i watched this video a month ago i cant belive its been a yearRRR
let everybody downstream deal with your discharge, nadda.
Very satisfying to watch. I’ll subscribe and check out your channel. Thanks and good luck with the new hay field.
Thanks. It has kept it dry enough to drive on now so should work out to get some extra hay off of.
Nice video
Good place for drainage tile.
Look into LID, Low-Impact Development. You'll want swales (ditches with 6% or less side-slope) every 100ft. In America farmers use drain tile to avoid swales but you'll notice in Europe swales every 50-100 foot is very common for obtaining that perfect 12-18 inches of well-drained soil.
The plan is to rework the whole area eventually and have the whole area slope to the creek vs puddle up. This was mainly a bandaid for time being to have much less standing water for mosquitoes. Summer time I'll probably do the dirt work for slope.
Does anyone know the approximate cost it would be to drain a half acre swamp area?
I would imagine it's based on square footage or acreage. Thanks
GET OUT OF MY SWAMP!!! Shrek
Sound like it needs some grease
What is going to stop the creek from going back the other way???
Atm.... nothing. But with time I will keep filling the dip in and work my way to the creek. This was just step one to be able to get all the standing water out.
side to side motion to smooth bottom then rock
How do you keep it from filling up again?
Anyone else try to wipe the mud off their screen?
Yep 😂 😂
are u or have dug that area up and placed drain tile in .?
Nope. Priority isn't high enough to go into that expense.
are you sure that it's not a vernal pool?
Is that from a spring or just a low lying area ?
It's a low area just holding excess water. It use to be the creek bed before the creek took a different direction.
Now video #49 though on the other side of the creek is a natural spring that never dries up that someone always gets stuck in at least once a year lol
Could have made a pond
you need mr “mj works “ look him up brilliant work
All I see coming up is motorcycle stuff for mj works........
@@SwiftOutdoors sorry its “mr mj works” apologies
Ahh I found it. Mr AJ works. Looks like the city version of letsdig18. Wish I had the big toys to play with lol
Draining a wetland. God help you if the soil conservation folks see this.
It's not actually a swamp or wetlands 😆 just word play. Only wet during spring when trying to produce hay for animals.
What is this machine called?
I think trees taken out will be next..
You could've move the piece of annoying mud from off the glass.
Probaly not legal whats the update .
Using a toothed bucket? Oh man... Way to make a situation worse. Instead of a small berm you now have a pile of mini ditches going across your drainage area. Could have cleared it all really easy with a small manually-dug drainage channel. No need for heavy equipment. 48h and still having standing water is proof you didn't resolve the underlying issue of drainage.
Nothing wrong with using a tooth bucket just have to smooth it with the back of the bucket afterwards. Tilt grading bucket would have been ideal but you do what you can with what you have
That's Sound/noise is the most horrible 🤢
Can you say French drain
I've done a few of those but this small project wasn't worthwhile of the cost of hauling in the gravel, pipe, and fabric to do a French drain. Was kinda just tracking by it and thought "Hey, lets knock this out real quick to dry this section up"
I hardly call that a swamp.
Well it's even more hardly a swamp 😆
This isn’t about Trump
Be quiet
