@@WebbedManiac Nope, the priest and nun were mind controlled. Nuns would never do that 180 degree change of acting like being possess by a devil at their own will.
I believe Butcher has taken 5 doses of Temp V already (first was killing Gunpowder, second was the trip to Russia, third occurred for capturing Crimson Countess and giving her to Soldier Boy, fourth was during Herogasm, and fifth was this episode with Mindstorm. Thus, Hughie has taken 4 doses (since he took Temp V the same times as Butcher minus Gunpowder). So in Butcher’s mind he is already basically guaranteed dead/vegetative state, while Hughie is very likely (having taken more than 3 but less than 5). Homelander’s major schtick is wanting to be loved and desiring parental figures (albeit in a warped creepy way), so he might be quite receptive to Soldier Boy being his biological father. Though despite Butcher and Hughie haven’t taken so many doses of Temp V I think Frenchie is the most likely to die in the season 3 finale, especially since his actor was conspicuously absent IIRC in the Season 4 renewal announcement video that featured most of the main cast.
I feel like Butcher didn’t tell Hughie because to him that would be him abandoning Hughie by pushing him away and going on alone just like he did to his brother. But at the same time, he also knows that what he’s doing is very wrong but like he said he can’t draw a line because someone has to make the difficult decisions
With Solider Boy being Homelander’s dad, it’s interesting seeing the parallels between how they treat Noir and A-Train. I hope Black Noir and A-Train team up to kick their ass lol.
Pretty sure Homelander and Soldier Boy aren’t racist. They just don’t want their spotlight taken away from them and want to remain number 1 in the Seven.
It’s cool how they flipped Stormfront and Soldier Boy’s role from the comics. Stormfront was Homelander’s mom and he was sleeping with Soldier Boy in the comics.
Not sure if someone else mentioned this, but the cabin’s mattered because they were owned by Mindstorm. So the one that had a local pharmacy that sent his prescription meant he used that home.
I think butcher did learn from the flashback, my theory is that he lied to hughie to get more temp v only to destroy it because butcher sees how addicting hughie is to temp v and he would’ve react badly if butcher told the truth. That’s my theory
Hughie took 4 doses and Butcher took 5. So it might be that they’re both already gonna die and butcher simply isn’t telling hughie that, and wants to complete his mission to kill homelander before he dies.
@@obi3924 Considering how much he cares about Hughie, I don't think so. Hell, Butcher never even wanted Hughie to take V24 in the first place. Most probably he will take it all for himself and stop Hughie from using it.
"Here Comes a Candle to Light You Bed" I LOVE the titles they pick for the episodes. The title for this episode comes from an old, British children's rhyme called, "Oranges and Lemons". Here's an extract from the rhyme: "Here comes a candle to light you to bed, And here comes a chopper to chop off your head! Chip chop chip chop the last man is dead" I imagine that "the last man" is Mindstorm. Chopper is Soldier Boy (instead of cutting his head off, he bashes it in) Alternatively, it can be about Butcher and how he's not telling Hughie the truth and that directly risks Hughie's life. Hughie's the last man (in the mind vision, Lenny mentioned the three people who can stop Butcher from being a monster: himself, Becca, and then Hughie. He's the last one).
Yo I have a crazy theory. That’s what I think is going to happen in the last episode and season 4: 1- They are gonna give Butcher and Hughie permanent V cause they already took 3(or more) Temp V which WILL kill them. They are gonna have to take more temp V to keep up with the combination of Homelander and Soldier boy. So to heal there brains and give them permanent powers until the end of the series, they are gonna take that blue V. 2- Soldier Boy and Homelander are gonna team up and destroy Vought at one point. Either from the inside out or something… Soldier Boy, from the looks of it, just found out BN and Vought were behind what happened in 1984. So he’s gonna persuade Homelander, as his dad, to join him and get his revenge. 3- Black Noir is gonna team up with the Boys. Finding out that Homelander and SB are gonna team, he’s not only gonna leave Vought for good but he’s gonna free Maeve and go with her to the Boys and help them defeat SB and Homelander. 4- At the very end, I think we’re gonna have a new underground super hero team composed of: Starlight, BN, Butcher, Hughie, kimiko, Maeve and A-Train(I think he’s gonna leave at some point cause of the bs they keep throwing at him). And it’s this new “7” who are gonna fight at last, the 2 most powerful heros of the planet, Homelander and Soldier Boy. Honestly that’s just my theory. I’m not sure but I’d love to be right. Since it has no connection to the comic version I’m ok.
@@wllulu I picture the very end, the death of Soldier Boy, with a huge blast; leaving all the supes around without powers. Ryan is still too young to fight Homelander or anybody(he has no fighting experience). And the way the series is going let us think that the end is coming sooner than expected so I think Ryan would be the Superman of the world in the future. He is going to play a role in the finale but I don’t think he’s going to play a major one in the killing of the antagonists.
14:18 yes he was right. He knew that Mindstorm used people like them for traps from personal experience with him as a teammate. When he went to check the engines and it was completely fine it only confirmed his suspicions.
Starlight is carrying the “good side” right now and using all sides to her advantage. She either didnt care if Homelander killed her, or knew he wasn’t gonna make any moves with Soldier Boy around
That wasn't a "workout video" playing on the TV. That was a scene from one of the most famous movies of all time. "Flashdance" That being said, I have never actually seen it myself. But scenes have been used and parodied thousands of times over the decades in all sorts of other media.
One of his few redeeming qualities as a “good guy” was his care and protection of his lark Hugie. Now he’s going against that fundamental principal, which is pretty messed up. 😬
With the context from this ep, it looks like Soldier Boy's "Which one?" response to MM at Herogasm was meant to reference an old stereotype about black guys and 2nd families.
I think now knowing the green V will kill him Butcher is on an all-in mission: kill Homelander and just die he cant handle all this guilt, i think he will deny Hughie his dose to protect him though.
I wonder if Homelander's hair is a continuity problem or a future plot point. It started off as blond BLOND enough for a nazi to like it. Then his sides started becoming dark. This episode, he has more dark hair than he does blond. It's REALLY noticeable in the scene with Maeve. Anybody else noticed it or is distracted by it?
Hughie has taken 4 doses of Temp V, while Butcher has taken 5. Gunpowder Russia Crimson Countess Herogasm Mindstorm. Those are the times that Butcher used Temp V. Hughie has done all of those except Gunpowder.
I think Butcher not telling Hughie about the temp V was because he knows the job needs to be done so he’ll continue to take it himself but he won’t let Hughie take anymore, he just doesn’t want Hughie trying to stop him from taking it
Finally they're giving Black Noir his backstory and It is interesting as the comics, Its awesome that they planned the whole story from the start and not make one as the season goes along.
They made soldier boy so much better in the show than the comic. In the comic he’s a wimp trying to impress homelander . Here he’s more like ultimate captain America . Ultimate captain America when beating a villain into a hospital bed Batman style when told to surrender says “You think this letter on my head stands for France”
The headpopping takes longer with supes probebly because there organs are more durable + when she blew up her old friend he noticed what she was doing and homelander would lazer her head off before she could kill him
it you've read the comics you'd know this is butcher in his prime. He's such a good character. The show is entirely different from the comics which makes me feel like butcher could be redeemed but when he hesitated that almost solidified it for me making him one of the most ruthless characters I've seen IF they stick with it. The dude is crazy
Homelander after being exposed by Starlight and finding out the truth about Soilder Boy: "I'm never gonna financially and emotionally recover from this!"
26:22 I guess in this scene, Butcher wasn't trying to shut up, he's going to protect Hughie, he's going to take him to a place where he's going to keep him there, and Butcher's going to take the V24 and go, I think Butcher, why didn't he tell Hughie? Because Hughie won't let Butcher take too much V24, That's why he didn't tell him, he'd go home and leave him there.
Slap you like Conery Sean Connery thought it was ok to slap women and spoke about it openly. hughie stands up to soldier boy like he stood up to homelander. Noir sees himself as a black sheep both because he is both black and his group makes him feel like an outsider. Vaught ditches A train proud african story for a more sterotypical story with a white savior figure.
Butcher probably want the Temp V for himself. He probably didn't want to tell Hughie first because if he did that, Hughie will not let him die. Butcher probably used Hughie to get the Temp V because he could easily teleport and get it.
As we have seen from the cartoon flashback, Soldier Boy is just as much of an asshole as Homelander, as he butchered Nior just for arguing with him about the movie role. No way is he okay with sharing the spotlight with Homelander.
Hughie and Butcher getting permanent powers does feel problematic to their personal characters, but it would make sense in one way. IIRC there was someone who said compound V is administered to babies because it does not work well on adults. Vought has been trying to make adult supes right? This would be a break through for them if Hughie and Butcher can become permanent adult, "healthy" and stable supes.
I just realised, if Maeve wasn't captured then as she mentioned she could hv landed even 2-3 hits on HL and that would hv easily helped killing him.....LUCKY HOMELANDER HUGE HUGE THANKS to Editor-san for that Connery montage.....i hope Roshi pays you enough and it's not like Anime animators don't getting what they deserve 😘
It just hit me that the whole being attacked in Nicaragua was part of the plan to mask the team ambush on Soldier boy. Vought was fine with so much collateral damage to get Soldier boy out of the way.
Noir getting serious screentime, spot on physical comedy (the sign at the end of 'Imagine'? Come ON 🤣) and character development is something I had NOOOO idea I needed. The genius that is The Boys.
oh dear god with soldier boy being his father AND the fact that soldier boy used to mess around with Liberty/stormfront (created an orgy fest with her and she was hot so i'm sure they've had sex), what if homelander IS stormfront's son? She believed in a master race and genetic perfection so she would be a-ok with creating genetically perfect children with her perfect creation. It would keep the genes "pure" like ancient royals used to think. Emotional and actual incest don't seem off kilter for her and well....homelander did have a mommy kink! wow. When she realized that he wouldn't create that master race with her, she killed herself.
I think the bit with A-Train getting Blue Hawk’s heart is a nod to the film ‘Heart Condition’ where racist cop, Bob Hoskins gets Denzel Washington’s heart and then Denzel haunts him.

Tbh butcher take advantage of each team tragedy, and use it as his benefit. Even though butcher seem to care about hughie, he not going to tell him probably because he cares, or just don't want him to know

@@TheMop-yl9wr It's never made clear. The nun could've just attacked Hugh cause Soldier Boy killed the priest.
@@WebbedManiac Nope, the priest and nun were mind controlled. Nuns would never do that 180 degree change of acting like being possess by a devil at their own will.
@@WebbedManiac Nah I don't think a Nun would have done that
Butcher: What sad bastard self-medicates like that eh?
Also Butcher: Hit this.
🤣🤣🤣
The muffled “soulja boy tell em” when soldier boy pulled up had me dead 😂😂
They miss where it was said , Black Noir had schizophrenia which explains his visions
How in the hell did Butcher mess up his own redemption arc 😭
Butcher: "What sad bastard self-medicates like that, eh?"
*proceeds to inject temp V*
Yo Lupa delayed reaction when Starlight revealed she was recording Homelander=priceless 😂😂
And its probably gonna lead to them taking permanent V.
With Solider Boy being Homelander’s dad, it’s interesting seeing the parallels between how they treat Noir and A-Train. I hope Black Noir and A-Train team up to kick their ass lol.
@Blaise Pascal Bruh
i low key dont want that happen only because im big supernatural fan such a big dean fan
@Blaise Pascal what bro
Pretty sure Homelander and Soldier Boy aren’t racist. They just don’t want their spotlight taken away from them and want to remain number 1 in the Seven.
@@hubbabubba3822 It is possible to be an egotistical fuck and a racism prick at the same time.
It’s cool how they flipped Stormfront and Soldier Boy’s role from the comics. Stormfront was Homelander’s mom and he was sleeping with Soldier Boy in the comics.
Father. Not mother. Forgot Stormfront was a guy
She definitely gave Homelander his kids address in that barn. That's like the only reasonable thing I can see being on that paper.
Not sure if someone else mentioned this, but the cabin’s mattered because they were owned by Mindstorm. So the one that had a local pharmacy that sent his prescription meant he used that home.
bruh that Connery compilation killed me, especially that last clip
I wasn't ready for the crank that note in the Connery montage. Almost spit soda everywhere 🤣
@@obi3924 they should take permanent v. that could heal them instantly from brain damage
@@obi3924 Considering how much he cares about Hughie, I don't think so. Hell, Butcher never even wanted Hughie to take V24 in the first place.
Most probably he will take it all for himself and stop Hughie from using it.
maybe he's gonna take all the doses at once by himself to confront Homelander AND Soldier Boy?
"Here Comes a Candle to Light You Bed"
I LOVE the titles they pick for the episodes.
The title for this episode comes from an old, British children's rhyme called, "Oranges and Lemons". Here's an extract from the rhyme:
"Here comes a candle to light you to bed,
And here comes a chopper to chop off your head!
Chip chop chip chop the last man is dead"
I imagine that "the last man" is Mindstorm. Chopper is Soldier Boy (instead of cutting his head off, he bashes it in)
Alternatively, it can be about Butcher and how he's not telling Hughie the truth and that directly risks Hughie's life. Hughie's the last man (in the mind vision, Lenny mentioned the three people who can stop Butcher from being a monster: himself, Becca, and then Hughie. He's the last one).
Everyone in this show plays their role perfectly
I think that spraying firehoses in Birmingham line at the beginning went over y’all’s heads😭
Yo I have a crazy theory.
That’s what I think is going to happen in the last episode and season 4:
1- They are gonna give Butcher and Hughie permanent V cause they already took 3(or more) Temp V which WILL kill them.
Yeah sick theory but what about Ryan? They have to use him in some point, I think he is the one that's is going to kill homelander
This episode was amazing, great back story for butcher and noir. P.s love ur Sean Connery bond clips. R.I.P Mr Connery.
I can't help but remember Johnny Lawrence everytime Soldier Boy says something
14:18 yes he was right. He knew that Mindstorm used people like them for traps from personal experience with him as a teammate. When he went to check the engines and it was completely fine it only confirmed his suspicions.
Starlight is carrying the “good side” right now and using all sides to her advantage. She either didnt care if Homelander killed her, or knew he wasn’t gonna make any moves with Soldier Boy around
Soldier Boy is somehow hilarious despite being a pos.
He is not POS, he is Alpha MEGA CHAD who stands up for himself
That wasn't a "workout video" playing on the TV. That was a scene from one of the most famous movies of all time. "Flashdance"
That being said, I have never actually seen it myself. But scenes have been used and parodied thousands of times over the decades in all sorts of other media.
How are they destroying Butcher's character? He's always been morally dubious at best.
He's definitely very different from the comic version, but the comic version is just a straight up psychopath.
He’s always been trash but I have constantly seen people trying to defend his actions 😂
@@angelbedolla347 right he's literally no better than Homelander
@@quickie17 you big tweakin
Here's the thing...howcome he can fly if soldier boy is his dad. My theory is lady liberty/stormfront is his mom.
8:09 - Loving the Sharingan sound effect 🤣. The show even seemed to add a subtle nod to Genjutsu with the crows.
Everytime we have a chance of winning the writer drops a Grenade on the boys to spice things up 😂
10:51 that line must be the Rated R version of "when i get sad, i stop being sad and be awesome instead"
What if Stormfront was Homelander’s mom, cause it would explain how he can fly
This editor is the truth.. everytime soldier boy appeared they added the first 3 notes of that song.. it's just so good.
Hughie has taken 4 doses of Temp V, while Butcher has taken 5.
Gunpowder
Russia
Crimson Countess
Herogasm
Mindstorm.
16:57 I just realized after watching the first 3 episodes of season 4 that she’s talking about the movie Will Ferrell showed up in with A-Train😭😭
Can't wait to see how they end this season. I hope butcher gets redeemed and doesn't kill Hughie, or die himself.
I would cry
They made soldier boy so much better in the show than the comic. In the comic he’s a wimp trying to impress homelander . Here he’s more like ultimate captain America . Ultimate captain America when beating a villain into a hospital bed Batman style when told to surrender says “You think this letter on my head stands for France”
No one's destroying Butcher's character, this is how he's always been
The headpopping takes longer with supes probebly because there organs are more durable + when she blew up her old friend he noticed what she was doing and homelander would lazer her head off before she could kill him
I love "The Boys", or as we call it here in Mexico "Los chicos, los pibes, los vatos, la raza, la muchachada"
Please don't ask the meaning.
el chavo del ocho
Los pibes
it you've read the comics you'd know this is butcher in his prime. He's such a good character. The show is entirely different from the comics which makes me feel like butcher could be redeemed but when he hesitated that almost solidified it for me making him one of the most ruthless characters I've seen IF they stick with it. The dude is crazy
also that realization after the flashback should tell you, Butcher is just Butcher.
Editor downloading soldier boy sound bit to insert every 15 seconds. Love this dude.
I'm actually surprised they didn't make him squirt the cow milk right into his mouth lol
Homelander after being exposed by Starlight and finding out the truth about Soilder Boy: "I'm never gonna financially and emotionally recover from this!"
Soldier boy is now Soldier Daddy and Homelander is Soldier Boy
19:47
Soldier boy: "You must think I'm one of them sucka ass white boys"
I always loved watching your video in the morning, it makes my day so much better
26:22
I guess in this scene, Butcher wasn't trying to shut up, he's going to protect Hughie, he's going to take him to a place where he's going to keep him there, and Butcher's going to take the V24 and go, I think Butcher, why didn't he tell Hughie? Because Hughie won't let Butcher take too much V24, That's why he didn't tell him, he'd go home and leave him there.
Homelander realizing he’s been caught in 4K was the funniest shit 🤣
I just realised, if Maeve wasn't captured then as she mentioned she could hv landed even 2-3 hits on HL and that would hv easily helped killing him.....LUCKY HOMELANDER
HUGE HUGE THANKS to Editor-san for that Connery montage.....i hope Roshi pays you enough and it's not like Anime animators don't getting what they deserve 😘
Kudos to the editor for making me understand that Connery reference.
GUYS what if Huey and Butcher take permanent V but soldierboy takes it out their system with radiation
It just hit me that the whole being attacked in Nicaragua was part of the plan to mask the team ambush on Soldier boy.
Vought was fine with so much collateral damage to get Soldier boy out of the way.
Vought was will to kill Grace and her entire crew to disguise their charade.
i really think they will end up giving compound V to Butcher and Hughie to save there life's
I really like your reactions! You guys actually listen to what's being said and yet still manage to fit a good amount of commentary that has valid points. Keep it up! 👏
Just when I thought that EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE was going to be one of the few titles..."in 2022".... that touched on the issue of generational traumas and how they are inherited... the boys came and made this masterpiece, deconstructing the deepest traumas of its characters AND OF COURSE THE F*CK*NG TWIST.
HL: What?
SB: *”I BEAT MY MEAT INTO A CUP!”*
As if that makes things any more clear 😂🤣
Anyone notice that in Noir's Hallucinated Theater Production that Gunpowder was portrayed by a Pig?
Tbh butcher take advantage of each team tragedy, and use it as his benefit. Even though butcher seem to care about hughie, he not going to tell him probably because he cares, or just don't want him to know
U know what’s funny with that whole cow and homelander scene is that homelander is definitely strong enough to pick up that cow and suck the milk from the utters
It took me over half the season, but this episode kinda stuck out. Soldier Boy makes me think of Johnny Lawrence from Cobra Kai... except cranked up to 11 (the gargle quote stuck out)
You guys should get your editor to release that clip of Homelander hallucinating Soldier Boy with the Soulja boy music muted in the background, I feel like it would do numbers😂
