Hi Canna rust is a fungi and it thrives on plants. You actually don't know that your plant is infected as the spores hide on the underside. They thrive in humid conditions, that why its important to water the soil and not the foliage. They thrive in conditions that have bad air circulation.. you need to trim some foliage. You can use a Neem solutions. It works but you will need to apply every two weeks until your plants are clear. Depending on how bad the rust attack is, you could visit your garden center and get a fungicide. Check out my episode on the Canna Rust on the Redsoil Gardener channel.

Yes...some plants need more oxygen than others. That's why I love using mulch when I can!
