Thank you for this! I’ve been wanting to learn how to do some basic care for my jeep and I just did it! Those rivets were no joke though! However, my blinker works the parking light doesn’t. Weird. Anyone know why that could be?
@@An0nR3kcah it was the right bulb. I made sure of the product number. What happened is there was moisture build up behind the outer plastic and it kept burning out the bulbs. Thank you for your reply though!
When i did the passenger side turn signal bulb a couple of years ago i broke my index finger. I swore when the drivers side went out i would hire it out. Great video. My first car in the 1970s just had two stainless steel screws which held the front cover on. It took about 10 minutes to replace the bulb. Jeep engineers should go back to school. Ps i am an electrical engineer i call them like i see them.
Thank you for your video on replacement of the front signal light bulb for the Jeep Patriot. I think it would have been easier if the front tire was removed before taking out the rivets. Other than that the video was very instructive, and I learned a lot. Good job.
It would have certainly been easier to get to the rivets if I had removed my tire. However it would have been more work and taken longer. Great idea though to anyone who wants to try it that way! Thank you for you input!
This happened to me , I just replaced the bulb and the blinking light now works but when I turn the lights on the same bulb doesn’t work. Just when I blink. Do you know what might be the reason ?
Check the ground to car frame. If you turn on one light and it comes on then turn on other and it goes out, you have a bad ground. Watch South main auto video on subject. I’m retired 50 year mechanic.
Never touch a new bulb with bare hands. Use gloves or a rag. The oil from your hands will create a hot spot on the bulb and shorten the life of the light.
My issue turned out to be a grounding issue. The blinker would blink normally then start blinking quickly. Then my headlight bulb on that same side stopped working. I had to re-crimp the ground cables that were all crimped to one ring to get a good connection again
This might work on the 2015 model but on the 2012 model it is IMPOSSIBLE. The idiots at Fiat-Jeep buried the turn light in a metal encasement that you can't get into. The ONLY way to replace the light is to remove the lens and pulling it from the front.
Don't forget to check your blinker fluid level.

I have the same issue, a new bulb didnt fix it so Im assuming the wiring itself is fucked
Wrong bulb

when you lifted the plastic inner I screamed in my mind but that is the answer. It makes the job easier thank you.
Thanks for the video, my signal was full of water :/ had to dry out the socket and spray compressed air but got it done 😅

I'm just buying a new vehicle instead
Lololol
Lol. This is the easiest light replacement I’ve ever seen. The 8th gen accord you have to take the whole front end of the cart off. Not joking.

Hmmm not really sure. I learn all of my repairs from RUclips and blogs. I’m sure there’s an answer for ya somewhere out there!

I agree that is a best practice that I forgot to mention. Thanks for the input!
Omfg dude, my blinker light just doesn’t come out that easy, I been trying all day 😭

Anybody have to change the bulbs again after about a year? Admittedly I only changed one last time so I'm not sure if that's the problem.
WTF Jeep, all that work to change a bulb!
had to do this to change that turn signal cover but now my bulb is out. i don’t wanna do this again, those clips are such a pain 😭
Tools needed:
Flathead screwdriver or rivet puller

Looks a lot better than a different video I saw. Guy took the front of the car apart.
Thank you very much!
Conoces la tecnología LED?
I don’t know if they make an LED bulb but they should!
Gracias
Thank you so much , I will replace it, I hope the same way to replace in my compass

Now you can go fast

For Pete sake! Just to change a bulb?!?! Unreal!! 😂
