- A bit of Iceborne nostalgia. Nothing special compared to other runs, especially Heroics or TA runs, but this is my personal best time for Alatreon. Resetting for good RNG is something I don't really enjoy so I'm really happy that I got to finish a run where I got good RNG and I didn't mess up too much myself. I just missed almost every crit on his elemental break opening, unlucky.
Sunbreak is nearing its last title update and I'll enjoy grinding the Anomaly ranks and hopefully get to fight Apex Diablos in MR.
Yet Iceborne's combat just feels more refined, the blatant balance issues Sunbreak has are really off-putting, and no weapon except for Lance feels better to play in Sunbreak than it does in Iceborne for me personally. IG lost a lot of charm, uniqueness, and skill expression and CB got an easy mode button (although Axe Hopper is peak GU Aerial CB fun).

The kinsect getting the elemental topple is a thing of pure beauty
Actually using kinsect for elemental topple is more easy than using the glaive lol, just spam the kinsect recharge when empty guarantee a topple before dragon mode dragon mode at late
i started mhw (my first monster hunter) on january 1st. ive killed alatreon maybe 3 or 4 times, and am an insect glaive main. i learned soooo much from this. thank you, ive tried other weapons and charge blade is my 2nd favorite but nothing touches my soul quite like IG. The slow kinsect makes so much sense for the drill it does. TY clutch head wall bang > wings on drop > head shot after... i didnt even know i could just send the kinsect out while aiming instead of marking... youre awesome

IG is so damn cool on Alatreon. All those drills, the kinsect toppling and so on. Very stylish run.
Damn this is crazy just did my first ever alatreon kill solo with ig was a 17m not even close to this but im very happy to finally kill it was using my own set aswell so always makes it a little better :p
Always love when my kinsect topple or stagger these bosses, but when i saw this kinsect and what i does, i had to give it a shot. Absolutely love it, still getting used to the speed though 💀

Do you mean the Kinsect pierce attack after Descending Thrust? The lower your Kinsect's speed is, the more hits you will get on average. It's also important not to input Tornado Slash too soon, as I've noticed that it will cancel the Kinsect Drill early.
Also, 7m45s is a great time, my own clear times fluctuate between low 6-8 minutes in casual clears. When he flies two times it just wastes so much time and this run had really good AI RNG.
You can also check out TA runners, they don't use mantles or wallbangs and their positioning and scripting is better than mine, in case you wanted to see actual setups for Alatreon. My runs are pretty much freestyle after all.
I’m new insect glaive, I noticed with the lightning you dodge the first two then in the third vault to diving wyvern. It looks like you vault in the lightning. Is there s in vault??

Just fought him for the first time and got my ass beat lmao. How tf do you manage to survive that supernova attack? What kind of armor are you using for not getting one shotted?
You need to deal enough elemental damage to topple him, which weakens the nova's damage enough for you to heal through it. The game will tell you once you successfully dealt enough elemental damage, so just bring an ice weapon and hit the frontlegs.
So essentially if he starts in fire active mode you want an ice weapon and aim at the fore arms for most elemental build up. Dragon phase aim only at the head for the horn break. Otherwise he will switch elements and you won't be able to get the knock down
You might be able to I'm dragon phas if you have the elemental build up but then you still have to break a horm

Is it just me? Sometimes IG buggin i can't throw my insect and just the throwing animation without the insect
Mhhh never seen it as an ig main, the insect has to be on your arm when you use descending thrust to do the piercing attack

Well the build he used is after alatreon and fatalis is harder so good luck. I would recommend using frostfang weapons, they do the job fine without the need of kulve or safi gear

why doesnt the vaulting attack do a spin slash going down but a direct slam? How does it work.
because you are not using the (y) button, but the rt trigger.
