    The mushrooms are almost coming all at once. The black trumpet is definitely one of my favorite ones alongside the other trumpet mushroom types. I‘m hoping that they will be forageable very soon.

    I'm never as lucky in the rocky mountains. There's always so many bugs infesting the mushrooms I pick.

      In my experience, there are less or none bugs in mushrooms during autumn season when the temperatures get colder.

      Yeah. Althought it wasn't certain if it's really B. pinophilus, I am convinced they are.

      @@LukesMushrooms you can always look at spores under a microscope. But they sure look like them. In the netherlands they look the same as the ones you found. They always look so different when i see them in russian videos. I dont think im gonna find them in the netherlands though, they only grow on 2 spots in the whole country

    • @LukesMushrooms
      @LukesMushrooms  2 года назад

      So far I haven't sent any mushroom for a microscope or DNA analysis. In Slovakia they are very common in some places, while a bit rare in other. In Czechia (where I spend most of time) it is a rare mushroom - at least in most of the country.

    congratulation for the incredible day in the forest!!
    I would like to know you how did you store them? because i found that once you cut a wild mushroom you better cook it soon otherwise you're gonna lose it. do you prepare them right away, either to consume it on the spot or to preserve them in some way?

    • @LukesMushrooms
      @LukesMushrooms  2 года назад

      Thank you. I usually let the mushrooms dry - I think that's the best way of preservation at least for ceps and boletes. Sometimes I freeze them too, for that it's the best to boil them in water for 5-10 minutes at first.

    Is the coral mushroom tasty? I haven’t tried one yet.

    • @LukesMushrooms
      @LukesMushrooms  2 года назад

      I don't recommend to eat them, there are so many species of coral mushroom and not all of them are edible. It's difficult to precisely identify them.

    Hi, nice finds and thank you for the video.
    I have one question, what's the difference between ceps and boletus edulis, as in the video other than size, they seem pretty similar to me?
    I'll be immensely thankful if you see my comment and manage to answer .
    Look forward to your next videos.

    • @LukesMushrooms
      @LukesMushrooms  2 года назад +1

      Hello. Actually there is no difference - Boletus edulis is the Latin / scientific name and Cep / King bolete / Penny bun are english names. In this video there were also Summer ceps, which is a bit different species (Boletus reticulatus). And also Pine boletes (Boletus pinophilus).
      I just try to switch the names occasionally so I don't repeat the same all the time. I hope this answer is helpful for you :)

      @@LukesMushrooms thank you for clarifying this.
      I was overworking myself thinking they were all different species 😁😂.
