I have a hypothesis that in the original scripts there was going to be one character called Kirby, an Utrom who knew about April's unuusal origins (a nod to the original Mirage comics, where "Kirby" was April's eccentric neighbor, a comic artist who accidentally created April by animating one of his drawings) But with multiple redrafts things got rewritten so that the character was split into Kurtzman and Bishop (with the name "Kirby" being shunted off onto April's father for good measure).
The most notable thing about the storyboard animation is that April has a realistic human body. Whereas her proportions are unrealistic in the final animation.
Not every Animatic is supposed to stay accurate to the Final Scene, so of course it might look different from the other Scene. Basically Animatics are used to cover up for the Final Project, whilist the Final Project is supposed to cover up for the Animatic but it isn’t as accurate to it as it should….
