The Ramayana was a HUGE INSPIRATON for me, on my journey of self discovery. Thank you for sharing your views & experience with it. I discovered the Ramayana through Sai Baba. I read his books on it, where he tells the full story of Rama and Sita. I was 21 at that time and it was truly a very magical experience for me. 💞

The fact that the Sanatana Dharma texts are a manual for daily living was lost to us due to various deliberate historical reasons. It is absolutely wonderful to hear Maharishi ji's thinking through Dr. Nader. Having been a TM practitioner for decades, this is a wonderful addition to the knowledge base we have today. Jai Gurudev! _/\_

    Excellent!
Sir, I find that nearly all commentators of the Ramayana miss out the very basic and foundation of the Ramayana --which is the education given by sage Vashishta to Sri Rama.
This education of Rama is overlooked by the popular culture whcih gives more importance to the story side of the Ramayana (which is only a sort of entertainment only).
It goes that during the period when young Rama (16 yrs of age) returns from touring the country becomes disheartened after experiencing the apparent reality of the world, King Dasaratha, expresses his concern to Guru Vasistha about Rama's dejection.
Guru Vasistha consoles the king by telling him that Rama's dis-passion (viragya) is a sign that the prince is now ready for spiritual enlightenment. Further the sage says that, Rama has begun understanding profound spiritual truths, which is the cause of his confusion; he needs confirmation.
The answer to Lord Shri Rama's questions forms one of the entire sacred Sanatana (Hindu) Dharma scripture namely called as the Yoga Vasistha.
The conversation between Guru Vasistha and young prince Rama is that between a great, enlightened sage and a seeker who is about to reach wholeness.
The text of the book leads to spiritual liberation and is said to be among those rare conversations which directly leads to Truth. The scripture provides understanding and explains consciousness, the creation of the world, the multiple universes in this world, our perception of the world, its ultimate dissolution, the liberation of the soul and the non-dual approach to creation.
Without the teachings of Yoga Vashishta, Rama would have found it very difficult to maintain the 'sama bhava' he had always towards the tragic life events of the Ramayana.
I feel the Yoga Vashishta is one of the greatest books under the sun which clearly explains Advaita Vedanta.

Is Yoga Vashista different from Yoga Darshana. Because Yoga Darshana is different philosophy than Vedanta Darshan

A rare and essential resource for any spiritual practitioner and a profound, brilliant work of literature. This is one of the most important commentaries on the Ramayana ever produced. Highly recommend. Salute and thank you to both Maharishi who intimately guided this book at every step, and to Dr Nader for facilitating the creation of this beautiful body of knowledge. Highly recommend.

The entire Ramayana can be boiled down to one event: Vishwamitra's revelation of the Gayatri mantra. Valmiki states "He who recites this, this whole story of the Ramayana studded with the bija mantras, or the seed sounds of the Gayatri mantra during the three sandhya times of the day, will be free from all evil actions".

Thank you for such a clear explanation of a profound story of Ramayana and its expression within our physiology.. I have found that just by reading the Ramayana i have noticed an effect of harmony within my own family. I love how the Vedic literature can be used as a problem solving tool connected to the source. I experience personal psychological resolutions when reading Maharishi’s commentaries on The Bhagavad Gita. Practicing TM and then also reading Vedic literature brings me balance with inner and outer life. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It has helped me grow during challenging times with a stability of comfort. What a great gift Maharishi has given us!! Jai Guru Dev. Diane Wetherill 🙏❤️😊
