Because of Hunter and Carr, I love my culture more than I ever could imagine. When I see my sistas and brothas on them streets, I honor all of them. Blessings to all of you my brilliant family in class, today. It’s so refreshing to know all of you are for the culture. A big WOW! Thank you to the architect dreamer and doer Karen Hunter.🙏🥰💕❤️

These classes are amazing. I left college because I found it worthless for the most part although I’m still paying for it. These free classes are so packed with valuable information. I literally take notes to look people up.
This was truly an incredible class! The 57th episode three days after I turned 57. And Dr. Carr’s weaving of story and song was amazing. For me, I’m loving the Aries magic of our ancestors, Gil Scott Heron and Marvin Gaye! 🙏🏾 Gotta follow this up with some Knarrative. Proud member right here! ✊🏾
Was running around all day repairing showers, toilets, sky lights and all the things that broke during quarantine for my family. Just sat down for in class, because I like to cast my professors on the big TV. And as usual my mind is blown. Thank you thank you thank you. I love knarritive as well 💎💎
The "Blue Note"..........OMG! I love your lectures....you, Dr. Carr and you Prof. Hunter....I wish I had you both as professors in my undergrad and grad classes........
I Love The Way You Stated That Sister Professor Hunter.."The Elders Are Laying The Foundation For This Pyramids We're Building"... Brother Professor Carr,You Have A Caring Spirit.. You Are Amazing❤
Dr Carr speaks the way I grew up! The history studied, is the truth we seek! Dr Hunter thank you for the space to learn, and allowing Dr Carr to teach! Amazing, hope our ppl are listening☺️
Karen, Dr. Carr: Thank you for showing up every week and providing a feast from your first fruits. May we continue to learn and grow together. Love you!! #knarrative
"sighing in relief" thank you Griot/Dr. Carr!! I felt the connection when you brought up Ivan Dixon who was also in the original A Raisin In The Sun. In ever effort made to reduce us, we thrive because we've been working at the highest levels so long it was easy for home to go from stage to film to tv acting to directing & producing......I SAW BROTHER JOHN!!!!! Thank you for sharing what you've been given!! Thank you Karen for living on assignment!
Never tire in listening through these classes with wrapt attention. Always so much to learn. Takes me back to my years as an undergraduate student in the Black Studies program at York U. here in Toronto. It’s like reliving the goings on back in time. Angela Davis, Huey Newton, Bobby Seale etc. They were our heroes, and we strove to emulate them. Since then, we seem to have regressed in the Black struggle universally. I greatly appreciate the work being done to revive interest in the struggle. Much taken in by the youth participation and profound interest in the classes. Keep up the good work. Greatly indebted to both of you -Dr. Hunter and Dr.Carr.
I do not know this Nas Lil person and do not care. Wish folks would stop being triggered by every idiocy. Dr Carr, if you decide to give up teaching, you can always take up singing. Another excellent class.
Dr Carr I have never ever meet a man such as you with the debt of book knowledge. I have ordered six books in the last day after looking at recent and past pod cast of Class with professor Karen and yourself. I’ll continue catching up on all 91 classes and I’m sure I’ll order 500 books. Thank you for helping me be myself again👍🏿
When I hear "knowledge" speak, I can't help but listen. Prof Hunter and Dr. Carr, you have help accelerate my middle-aged renaissance. I write down all suggested books to read. Knowledge has always been a lightening rod for me, but I was learning about things that influenced my personal life. I always felt there was more to learn. I felt I was missing something important, my heritage. I can honestly say, Professor Karen Hunter and Dr. Greg Carr are my foundation and I have started rebuilding!
Ok, I am listening to Stamped from the beginning. Once I stopped getting angry I Became more objective and was able to understand so many things about how our people fall victim to the lies of the oppressors. The initial anger behind the lies causes us to shy away from the cruelty. Pushing through that you leads us to see and understand the lies & the more we know & understand the lies and the whys behind them and the lose their effectiveness!
Within this beautiful tribe we all have gifts to share! With Love always Prof Hunter and Dr Greg Carr 🙏🏽 I truly appreciate your voice while being overseas 🙌🏽
Continuing the support of the knarrative . Thank you Professor Hunter and Dr. Carr for putting out the factual and historical information to raise our level of consciousness and evolve our awareness of what's transpiring in the world around us. I was hoping you would mention Sister Souljah and her contribution at changing the knarrative and the significance of her 360 Degrees Of Power album back in the early '90s.
Again, writing to you from Poland. "The power of this platform just keeps rippling":. Today, I am left momentarily speechless. All I can really say- ONCE AGAIN_ is "Thank you" Professor Karen Hunter and Dr. Carr for everything you are and do. I am struggling with HOW to participate ,in a more meaningful way. I feel that I am in a position to offer a valuable contribution- as a multi-disciplinarian, as an artist.....
Whew!!! I made it before midnight last night! I am on board for class! Knarrative will be the best in preserving our history and who we are as a people! This is an excellent concept! This going to impact the world! I love it! Health, wealth, and wisdom to you both! Keep up the good work!😊
God Bless the Child that's Got His Own... Billie Holiday born April 7th 1915. It was a wonderful class today and every Saturday which is everyday for us on knarrative. Thank you Professor Hunter and Dr. Carr! 💞❤💞
I’m writing a book about and just finished it but it’s about the crack era and what it did to the children that lost there parents to it I’m one of those kids I raised my brother and myself from 12 yrs old and my brother was 5 did they ever think that we had all kinds of PTSD all kinds of mental illness that these children who had to do whatever to survive those kids that were born after that generation there parents suffer so much it was hard to raise there children and that’s why kids are not kids anymore
Greetings and blessings to you both. I’m so enlightened and blessed by this learning & ways of knowing! I often exclaim out loud over this brilliant content! It is my TV there’s no time for nothing else, along with Knarritive . Thank you!
Shelter, food, water, energy, barterability(silver), wealth preservation(gold) are required for autonomy. This can't be accomplished without community!
This class was amazing and Ms. Marika almost brought tears to my eyes. Through deep thought and alongside my learning process I've come to the conclusion that our best fight will be from the ground up. Today (and always) Dr. Carr mentions rooting in our history and Marika advocated for the youth. If we can combine this, create an army of black teachers WELL ROOTED, ROOTING the youth, who will grow to be the ROOTED teachers, so on/so forth- our tree will burst right through the restraints of oppression. The opposition is too weak to fight that. They won a couple battles when they disrupted our structures with indoctrination, murder, mass incarceration, mis-education, infiltration- amongst the rest of their tactics, but we will succeed.
I just love listening to this show!! When I got to 1:10:10 I was like “Finally!! Now he’s going to gather all this to tie in the Lil’Nas X topic!” Nope..... but the history lesson was magic. 🙌🏾🙏🏾
I'm in agreement with you M Green. Question for y'all: Do you feel vindicated with this information, the knowledge of our history, told by us, represented by us, for the benefit of us? Totally supports our back in the day phrase "I thought You Knew"!!!!!!!
(3rd Rewatch🥰) : Dr. Carr has/is GIVING ME MY WHOLE LIFE RIGHT NOW 😲😌☺️😁🥰 Singing that Trouble Man, my Favorite Marvin Gaye song.❣️ Hello to you Both, Professors @KarenHunter & Dr. @AfricanaCarr all the way ☺️ from Brownsville PA {by way of} Bed-Stuy Brooklyn NY . Wonderful Session Today ♥️🖤💚 (As Per Always).❣️❣️❣️
Thank you for class Dr. Carr. You are PRICELESS!!! Great thanks from a light sculptor in the Show Me state for stitching our distinctive arts to our history!!!! Thank you so much!!!!! Music serves as the stitches the bind our hearts and Souls together. The visual imagery of our movies fetch our eyes. It should be nice and pleasing to see reflections of the Self. What is even better if we walk away from the visual, thinking something new. When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. You stitched it all together so well as it relates to the Truth that is Jesus if your thoughts and feelings are stitched to Truthful information and sharpened by education that comes courtesy of books. Miss Karen you are AMAZING!!!!! Thank you for loving us this much to share.
I'm glad you mentioned west TN in relation to Gil Scott-Heron. My dad and his brothers had to teach him baseball because when he moved to their neighborhood he didn't know how. My dad said he was always different. And Isaac "Black Moses" lived in their neighborhood too
Dr Carr is a very brilliant man, I love watching him on the runa Martin unfiltered show he reminds me so much of my father Dr Carr is a man that a lot of African Americans should look up to all jokes aside.
"Those African long ways of knowing"... uuuhhhmmm exactly what I was trying to convey earlier. This is the vindication I was talking about... hearing this history, these points of view expressed like this, I know that I know what is being said but, now I know WHY I know...The African Long Ways of Knowing!
Another educational class, I’m so happy to be apart of this movement. I’ve signed up for Knarratives and is so excited to continue to learn and uplift myself and my people. That’s Professor Hunter and Dr. Carr
I was so pleased he said this truth too. The amount of precision, delicacy and technological excellence required to complete these world wonders would/could not be done by a people who were forced and killed to build the pyramid monuments.
Is the book titled "And The Walls Came Tumbling Down" by Ralph D Abernathy out of print? Only saw a used copy on Amazon and Sankofa doesn't have a copy in their warehouse. Dr Carr your are a master at woven/connected the dots when it comes to current events and history from an global Africana perspective. Thank you both Dr Carr and Professor Hunter for an excellent class.👊🏽👊🏽💙💙
Really appreciate the gems of knowledge given as usual!!! Just subscribed and started Knarrative last weekend!!! Was wondering if there is any (or will be) real biography via Knarrative about Mahalia Jackson, watched a lifetime movie about her, but didn’t feel it was “truly informative”!!! Thank you!
Karen I’ve been listening to you via podcast for a little while now before these In Class sessions started and I want to say, while it shouldn’t be important- as a man of Italian descent designated into the false category of “white”- listening to this history and being able to look up some of this stuff and the perspective is very important to growing an understanding of the multifaceted human condition and human history. I say it shouldn’t be important above because we should learn the ways all cultures see the lens of life but unfortunately we know that the lens is a small optic. I appreciate what you’ve grown here and Carr’s narratives are definitely compelling. I’m in school now myself and I feel like this adds to it.
I can't get over this lecture. I just love it. I had to pause at the point Dr. Carr says he doesn't believe any African is truly/fully Christian or Muslim. And I joke about that all the time here. In fact we all joke about it. Because our traditional believes still have a way of infiltrating our worship, praise and prayer. And the concept of hell, or the anthropomorphism of God (not in the form of Jesus). But in the form of God the father is a concept many Africans struggle to fully comprehend. I once had a discussion with an elderly Ashanti man. He couldn't understand the concept of God being a king. God is God he said. Why reduce him to kingship. And we have a king. Otumfuo. Totally interesting. Listening in from Accra, Ghana
ALRIGHT, THATS IT, IM DONE, IVE GOTTA BE IN HEAVEN!!!!!!!! AT 1:36:50 DR CARR SINGS THE SONG NOLA BILL LEES THEME FROM SHES GOTTA HAVE IT!!! MY GOD YOU CAN TAKE ME NOW, MY BUCKET LIST IS FULL!!!!!!!!! There's a girl that I once knew
Who often had a friend or two
she gave them time love wit and rhyme
sublime
There she goes on her marry way
though she's only queen for a day
Boy and girl often take this world
so you better mind what you say!!!!!!!!!!
